You probably want to hide in Biesy for several reasons. To wander around, get some sleep, look at the blackest sky, follow bear tracks, look under your feet for salamanders. You've come to the right place.
We really do have wild Bieszczady here. We spotted a lynx in our meadow, every now and then we come across large bear tracks or meet bears on the road leading to our village. Roztoki Górne is permanently inhabited by 5 people, so the animals feel at ease here. People who need a break from stimuli also feel good. In Bieszczady Wysokie, 8 km from Cisna and 1 km from the border with Slovakia, we have a wooden house for 8 seekers of the ends of the world. On the sunny terrace, you drink coffee with a view of the Hyrlatej massif, and then in wellies you set off to pick mushrooms. We warn you: one basket will not hold all this harvest. The kids are having fun by the stream that winds behind the house, and the adults are lighting a bonfire. From the house you can start your trip on the trails to Hyrlata, Okrąglik, Duże Jasło or Stryb, or on trips to Slovakia. We invite you to the High Bieszczady Mountains, to the house bordering the wilderness.
In a house located on a quiet meadow overlooking the Hrylate massif. We rent the house as a whole (approx. 80 m2 + 25 m2 terrace) for max. 8 people.
Downstairs there is a living room with a kitchen and a toilet.
Upstairs there are two large rooms. Each room has its own bathroom.
- 4-person: double bed (width 160 cm) + 2 single beds. Room area approx. 17 m2 + bathroom.
- 4-person: double bed (width 160 cm) + 2 single beds. Area approx. 21 m2 + bathroom.
There is a large terrace with a view of the mountains and a prepared place for a bonfire (with a grill).
Meals must be prepared by yourself. There are 5 permanent residents in our town, so you have to drive to the nearest restaurant, e.g. Cisna (8 km). You also have to do your shopping before you arrive.
Our cottage is located in a valley surrounded by mountains and forests on all sides. From the house you can go directly to hiking trails: to Hyrlata, Okrąglik, Jasło, Stryb, Pasmo Graniczne, Przełęcz nad Roztokami. You can ride a bike along the nearby forest roads or sit more stationarily on the terrace and soak up the beautiful view around you. In the evening, light a bonfire and watch the starry sky, unique in this area, because it is free from light pollution.
For the next walk, you can go on the trail "Szaniec Konfederatów Barskich", which starts in Roztoki Górne at a small parking lot. The first information boards are here. The trail was opened in the summer of 2018 on the 250th anniversary of the fights of the Bar Confederates with Russian troops. There are 11 boards on the trail. The rampart and craters from artillery shells are visible from the blue trail. The slope of the path is about 45 degrees, in winter you will need crampons. You will be hiking along the border strip to the top of Okrąglik.
In the Bieszczady Mountains it is worth walking along the Main Bieszczady Trail (without bypassing Połonina Wetlińska or Caryńska) or the Blue Border Trail and at the same time visiting the shelter under Mała Rawka (for pancakes with strawberries!). You can safely take your bikes, because our Hyrlata is a great base for mountain and road cyclists. Enthusiastic riders can conquer beautiful horse trails on horseback. For athletes, a must-see: the Rzeźnik Run Festival (the route runs by our house) and the Bieszczady Winter Marathon. You can go ski touring right from the house, and in Wetlina there are cross-country ski trails.
We absolutely recommend astronomical shows in the Starry Sky Park and beautiful festivals: Natchnieni Bieszczadem Festival in Cisna and ZEW się Budzi Festival.
Roztoki Górne is a village that was historically inhabited by the Boykos and Lemkos. Unfortunately, now all that remains of them are old apple and pear trees growing near the house. If you are interested in the history of these lands - reach for our library. You will find many photo albums and guidebooks there. We recommend you follow the trail of the former inhabitants, visit places where colorful villages used to be and old Orthodox churches.
What’s there for children?
In the summer, children can splash in the stream behind the house and build dams on it, romp around in the meadow and climb trees. We also have toys, board games, books for children, teenagers and adults. And since our cottage is over 700 m above sea level and we often have plenty of snow in the winter, then you can make snowmen, forts, go sledging and apple-picking.
What’s there for employees?
We have satellite internet, which usually works, but there is no atmosphere for working :) There is an atmosphere for relaxing.
