When we painted our cottage with a new red coat during the renovation, it was decided - it chose its new name. Stará líška. We gradually transformed one of the original cottages in Demänovská Dolina into a family cottage with a unique vintage style.
While we remodeled the interior of the cottage according to our ideas, we came a long way. We changed its layout, spent liters of paint on painting the wooden panels on the walls, furniture and original doors, which we decided to preserve and restore. We love old furniture and accessories with a story and I like to combine them in the interior. That's why you can find many treasures from our grandmothers, as well as from bazaars, in our Stará líška. You can admire the embroidered pictures that my grandmother used to make, the pink shelf for cups, or the beautiful bench in the dining room, which is over 100 years old. We decided to use traditional decorative roller paint with a strawberry leaf motif on the walls of the kitchen and living room, which used to decorate the walls of old houses. The mill stairs were given new wooden cladding and became a decoration of the living room and a favorite climbing frame for children. And we transformed the storage room under the stairs into a magical children's corner, which was also approved by our youngest helper, son Peťko.
We created a place that we ourselves - as a family with a child - would like to find. We know that traveling with children is difficult and bulky, so we equipped the cottage like a normal inhabited house. High chairs, toys, books, but also a large supply of tissues are a matter of course. The kitchen is equipped with a blender, coffee maker, oven and dishwasher. So that instead of washing dishes, you can spend time together. For example, exploring the nature around the cottage, going on trips to the forest, or taking walks with beautiful views across the meadows above Pavčina Lehota.

Hi, I'm Katka and I'd like to welcome you to our cottage Stará líška. I've been a creative soul since I was little, I like to create, invent and take photos. As the daughter of a cottage owner, I've been involved in tourism and in contact with guests since I was little. I'm currently the mother of a little son and together with him and my husband we longed for a cottage that would be different from all the others and in which everyone would feel comfortable and at home. I inherited the cottage from my father, but it no longer met my expectations, aesthetically or functionally. So we decided to renovate it. We had a vision of how beautiful the cottage would be one day and we didn't let many people who advised us to demolish it discourage us. Although it wasn't easy and it certainly didn't take long, we gradually managed to transform the cottage into its current form. The striking color of the exterior facade and the charm of the old cottage gave us the idea for the name. And so our Stará líška was born. I believe that you will also like our cottage.
