When we painted our cottage with a new red coat during the renovation, it was decided - it chose its new name. Stará líška. We gradually transformed one of the original cottages in Demänovská Dolina into a family cottage with a unique vintage style.

While we remodeled the interior of the cottage according to our ideas, we came a long way. We changed its layout, spent liters of paint on painting the wooden panels on the walls, furniture and original doors, which we decided to preserve and restore. We love old furniture and accessories with a story and I like to combine them in the interior. That's why you can find many treasures from our grandmothers, as well as from bazaars, in our Stará líška. You can admire the embroidered pictures that my grandmother used to make, the pink shelf for cups, or the beautiful bench in the dining room, which is over 100 years old. We decided to use traditional decorative roller paint with a strawberry leaf motif on the walls of the kitchen and living room, which used to decorate the walls of old houses. The mill stairs were given new wooden cladding and became a decoration of the living room and a favorite climbing frame for children. And we transformed the storage room under the stairs into a magical children's corner, which was also approved by our youngest helper, son Peťko.

We created a place that we ourselves - as a family with a child - would like to find. We know that traveling with children is difficult and bulky, so we equipped the cottage like a normal inhabited house. High chairs, toys, books, but also a large supply of tissues are a matter of course. The kitchen is equipped with a blender, coffee maker, oven and dishwasher. So that instead of washing dishes, you can spend time together. For example, exploring the nature around the cottage, going on trips to the forest, or taking walks with beautiful views across the meadows above Pavčina Lehota.

OLD FOX
We decided to save the old cottage. We resisted the advice to demolish it and decided to go differently than others in Demänovská Valley. Instead of demolishing it, we completely renovated the cottage, repainted it, replaced the roof, windows, changed the layout and made our dream a reality with the help of a skilled and patient carpenter.

The dream interior slowly took on real contours, colors and furnishings. We worked as hard as we could. So that it would be cozy, comfortable and like home. With everything that goes with it.

LAYOUT OF THE COTTAGE
- we have 7 beds, 3 bedrooms, 2 cots
- the cottage can accommodate 7 people including children, it can be increased by 2 children up to 2 years
- there are 2 bedrooms in the attic: One room has a bed with a width of 140 cm. The second one we call “family”. This one has special sleeping arrangements – we can create a bed up to 260 cm wide from two separate beds so that the whole family can sleep comfortably.
- on the ground floor there is a third bedroom with a double bed with a width of 160 cm
- on the ground floor there is a common room with a stove and a dining area, a kitchen where you will not miss anything and a children's corner
- downstairs there is also a bathroom with a shower and toilet and another separate toilet

GARDEN
The cottage also has a huge fenced yard, a garden.
At the back of the cottage you will find a designated area for a fireplace. Before summer we plan to add a playground, a place for grilling and a sitting area in a garden house with wellness ;)

Taste preferences are up to you. And we leave you here everything you might need for yourself and your children to realize them.

If those few kilometers by car don't seem far, go shopping in Liptovský Mikuláš. There, under one roof, in the Moment store (vmomente.sk), you will find honest farm food and sourdough bread.

And we took care of the coffee for you - we chose the one that pleased us the most and shared it with you so that you can enjoy it while relaxing.

There are really plenty of options here - it all really depends on what you want to do and how you want to relax...

Are you taking your bikes with you? You will enjoy beautiful routes of varying difficulty. We will store your bikes safely in a room secured by an alarm.

The location of the cottage allows you to go on beautiful hikes in the Low, West and High Tatras.

We firmly believe that this will really make the world a better place to live. We tested it with our youngest family member, who didn't even want to leave the cottage during the first weekend. And he also approved of a special children's corner :)

Discover the nooks and crannies of the cottage, a magical children's corner, toys, games and books and enjoy time together inside. Outside, explore the cottage garden and the nearby forest. Children will definitely enjoy bobsleighing or launching on a Tatra ski right on the property. Or go for walks in the Valley and the surrounding area.
