On the map around Zatwarnica, the Bieszczady peaks are scattered like pickaxes. A waterfall roars in the forest, and old Orthodox churches, villages that no longer exist, and forgotten cemeteries whisper about history. The San River murmurs under the wooden bridge, and niche world films and cult Bieszczady productions are shown in the old stable of the former Horse Park (including "Wolna Sobota", "Kino objazdowe"). How do we know this? First of all, we are from here and we are passionate about the history of our microregion. Secondly, in 2013, we bought the Horse Park stable no. 7 in Zatwarnica from the Forest District, which had been unused for over 20 years, where we opened Kino Końkret - a center of culture, region, and good art. We organize concerts, author meetings, ceramic workshops, and of course film screenings here. Thirdly, right next to the Cinema, we have placed a relocated, old Boyko cottage, to which we invite you. In the wooden thresholds, in front of the fireplace, in the dining room where our friendly cook will help you set the table. We have 4 rooms with bathrooms, a shared living room, kitchen and dining room and our CINEMA just three steps away.
Come to the area of one of the former Podkarpacie Horse Parks. The only one with the preserved history of the region. This is where the horses lived, which worked in felling the surrounding forests. You will learn the names of the residents of the local stable, you will discover what the work of the drivers, foremen, cartwrights, blacksmiths looked like. You will take a peek at the Boyko traditions and take part in pottery workshops. Come to our quiet Bieszczady Mountains, away from the Great Loop and crowded Cisna.
PS If you want to learn even more about our area, we recommend the book by Tadeusz Janot Bzowski "King of Bieszczady".
In the over hundred-year-old Boyko house, which we moved to Zatwarnica and restored to make you feel comfortable. There are new bathrooms, but there are also design elements that remind you that this is a place with history.
We have 4 rooms here - rooms with bathrooms. You can rent the house in its entirety, booking all the rooms at once or occupy just one room and also enjoy the common space on the ground floor.
The Lipowa Room is located on the ground floor. On the first floor there are three double rooms, one four-person room and a space for work and relaxation with a library.
On the ground floor there is a vestibule, a large living room with a dining room and kitchen, and a utility bathroom (washing machine, dryer available to guests).
Right next door is the already iconic Końkret Cinema, so you can practically pop out in slippers for a film screening and coffee at Cafe Końkluzywnje.
The cottage has a large kitchen where you can experiment. And for coffee, tea and something sweet, we invite you to our Cafe Końkluzywne.
It is also possible to order meals from a friendly cook. The food is prepared on site and is mostly local Boyko cuisine. We will also always advise where you can buy fresh trout, delicious honey, cheese and preserves.
The nearest restaurant is 8 km away.
Pack your trekking shoes and hit the road. You can go to the mountains (Połonina Wetlińska, Dwernik Kamień), bike (a beautiful route along the San) or learn about history (the trail of three displaced villages Hulskie, Krywe, Tworylne), and a little further (4 km) the church that they wanted to burn down for the film adaptation and the oldest grave in the Bieszczady Mountains. 11 km from Zatwarnica there is an church entered on the UNESCO list. Take a walk to the wooden bridge over the San, to the viewpoint - Sękowiec, and in the other direction see the pump jack for oil extraction. Once you reach the pump jack, continue to the Szepit waterfall on the Hylaty stream - one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Bieszczady Mountains.
When the heat is pouring from the sky, we recommend resting on the banks of the San. It is a paradise for anglers and those who like to turn the pages of a book by the roaring river.
Right under your nose you have Kino Końkret, which we founded, where Cafe Końkluzywne also operates. We organize concerts, author meetings, and ceramic workshops here. You can drink coffee and tea without preservatives, watch world niche cinema and Bieszczady films (including "Wolna Sobota", "Kino objazdowe") and learn the history of Horse Parks in the Podkarpacie region. We also organize ceramic workshops for you (group of max. 4 people). You will be able to learn, among other things, hand-sculpting/plaster molding, sgraffito technique and engobe painting. This is a great opportunity to get your hands dirty with clay and clear your head!
In our village there is also the Ecomuseum "In the Land of Boykos" - a regional chamber with a permanent exhibition. In August, the Boyko Fair takes place there, where you can listen to local bands, buy handicrafts, regional honeys, preserves, etc.
What’s there for employees?
We have fast internet, but not all parts of the cottage have good access. There is a desk in the Fern Room. It is also possible to work in public areas.
