In 1672, on the outskirts of the town of Nepomuk, the Zelenohorský hetman Daniel František Táborský from Hirschfeld built a small mansion as his ancestral seat. Later, his descendants operated a postal stagecoach station here, then the princely forest office was located here, and even later the state forests (which started the building's decay...). Fortunately, the Kroup family then appeared as the new owners, and they began gradual repairs. For example, the facades - one every year. And it gradually became clear that the aim of their repairs was to return the house to the appearance it had acquired during the last major reconstruction under Princess Wilhelmina of Auersperg (in 1887-88). So the primalex coatings were scraped off and the original stencil painting was revealed. Linoleum and chipboard were removed from the floors and the historical planks were sanded down. Modern partitions and door linings were torn down. And they also restored the so-called historical enfilade - a view through the open doors of all the rooms on the floor.

Part of the reconstruction was also the search for an answer to the question of where to place the collection of historical motorcycles of Father František. Thanks to this, the Veterans Museum has been operating here since 2012, which has grown to impressive proportions. From the original collection of about 30 motorcycles and two cars, the museum has grown to one hundred and twenty vehicles, and today the exhibition occupies almost the entire area of the former farm buildings. But in addition to technology and things that satisfy the senses of touch and sight, treat yourself to the aroma of coffee or the taste of a homemade dessert at the Kavárna v čeledníku. Various cultural events are also held here several times a year, such as the Nefestík music festival or the vintage harvest.

VETERANS' MUSEUM

Today, you can find one hundred and twenty vehicles in the Veterans' Museum at Zelenohorská post office, among which motorcycles still clearly dominate. The museum is thematically divided into several sub-exhibitions.
The most rewarding for visitors is the collection of Czechoslovak "socialist" motorbikes, especially the Jawa and ČZ brands, which appeal to quite a few witnesses. It is located in the authentically preserved space of the former workshop of the national enterprise Czechoslovak State Forests from the late 1950s. A certain counterpoint are the foreign "capitalist" motorbikes from the 1950s to the 1970s in the adjacent room.

A floor above is a collection of motorbikes and mopeds, which represents a representative cross-section of European production of these vehicles from the 1920s to the 1980s.

The most valuable exhibits are motorcycles from the period before 1939, which recall the beginnings of motoring in the region. The local collection includes brands not only from Czechoslovakia, but also from many other European countries and the United States. All of them were sold on our market and the motorcycles on display often traveled the roads of the southern Pilsen region. The oldest piece on display is a two-cylinder belt-driven Motosacoche from 1910.

EXHIBITION ON THE HISTORY OF THE ZELENOHORSKÁ POŠTA BUILDING

A small, freely accessible exhibition dedicated to the history of the building and the urban development of the town of Nepomuk is also installed in the building itself.
A gallery for seasonal exhibitions is accessible directly from the street.

Each of the apartments has its own fully equipped kitchen, so you can cook for yourself or you can visit our café in the season (daily from April to June, weekends in September and October).

CAFE

With excellent coffee and beers from small breweries, hidden in a former butler's pantry and stylishly furnished with historical equipment - for example, with a bar from 1830. There is a collection of curious old pictures, a reference book, board games and table football. And also sitting on the pleasant summer terrace.
