Do you believe in love at first sight? We fell in love at first photo. We dreamed of Andalusia, but... we bought a house in Greece. It was supposed to be flamenco and tapas, but it turned into ouzo and moussaka. Cupid’s arrow doesn’t ask for a postcode. And thank goodness for that! I found the listing on Monday, and by Thursday, we were already on the plane.
A major renovation? Turns out, a month was enough for us. We started with a cabin in Roztocze (region in eastern Poland), 400 km from home, and now it was over 2000 km away, but it went even smoother. Maybe it’s the experience, maybe organizational tricks, but the secret ingredient is people. Old friends who joined us for this month-long marathon through dust and grit. New – Greek neighbors who came to help without hesitation. And there were plenty of challenges! A 170-year-old house built into the rock, narrow stairs – charming, but terrible for moving furniture. We carried everything by hand. As part of the preparation, we even went to the gym so it wouldn’t crush us!
We’re good at spontaneous decisions, and work moves fast (no wonder our friends say I’m sudden.) But when it comes to relaxation, we value the Greek “siga, siga.” We fell in love with Lefkada for its vibe, the people, the dances in front of the tavern in the summer, the amazing beaches, and the view of the mountains from the terrace. For the fact that it’s not posh, just cozy, like our Roztocze.

We are not on-site, but friendly help will look after you
My name is Anita, and I love renovating and then decorating. Interiors are my passion, and thanks to "Chatka na Roztoczu" and "Tojestmojabajka," I’ve been able to fully express myself. I’ve made both places as perfect as I could. I’m a happy wife to a happy husband who supports my spontaneous ideas. We also have three happy daughters. We love to travel and relax on the beach – but not for too long. So, we’re really excited that we now have the chance to spend our vacation the way we love: resting and renovating a house on the Greek island of Lefkada.
