The plan was to set up a small guesthouse and live out old age peacefully. We searched every corner of Warmia to find an old farmstead in a charming place. But then it appeared: the palace in Nakomiady. Almost complete, not yet completely drowned and stolen. 2 weeks to decide. And since it is sometimes difficult to contain the momentum, we soon became its owners. Palaces are not bought on a whim, because such places absorb you for life. It was 10 years of renovation work, sacrifices, but also fascination, faith in the fulfillment of dreams and stubborn striving to realize them.
After a decade, we opened the palace to people who share our values: a love of classical beauty and happiness from being surrounded by nature. A simple life, but in extraordinary surroundings. The palace is also home to a ceramics factory famous for its fabulous tiles like those from East Prussia - Piotr's work. The entire Nakomiady Palace is our joint life's work. We cherish it, drawing joy from every detail and from every dreamy sigh of our Guests. We invite you to enjoy our beloved place, to be inspired and to delve into its history. "They abandoned the city and renovated the palace." After 20 years, the Nakomiada estate is flourishing: regular vegetable and herb gardens, a secret garden, an orchard, a labyrinth, a park. Because a house can be built quickly, but trees take a long time to grow, yew rows, and boxwood borders of flower beds. The renovation of the Palace is a story that cannot be described. It took over 10 years, so imagine that you have such a challenge in your own nest. After the experts had finished the work, I started making corrections myself: re-hanging curtain rods, re-applying silicone in the bathrooms, installing 4.5 km of skirting boards, painting unfinished rooms, laying wallpaper, cleaning stone portals, and finally painting 47 door frames and door leaves. I repeated this when finishing the Administrator's House. I spent many weeks there, painting walls, assembling furniture and curtain rods, sewing curtains, helping the electrician lay loft cables and screwing in porcelain handles. All the interiors still arouse warm feelings in me. These unique colors, patterns, the fantasy of ceramic tiles - all of this forms beautiful images, an unforgettable work of life, to which I invite you.
