At a glance
Behind the forests, Zabrody, stood a house built with love for Kashubia. From the very heart of the spruce forest, it winked with green shutters decorated with boxes of red geraniums. With a porch overgrown with wisteria, it invited you inside – to cozy, comfortable and refined in every detail interiors. It beamed at the thought of visiting friends and families. After all, it was built to host guests together – it has a living room full of comfortable seats, books and games, and a dining room for long mornings over breakfast.
This is its second second life: the first one remembers Mrs. Cecylia and her family, whose fate was described in the book “Paradise Island. The Story of the Great Ostrów on Lake Wdzydze”. We bought the historic homestead from her. Contrary to our plans to have a small house on an equally small plot. However, when we reached the farm surrounded by forest with access to Lake Gołuń, we could not ignore the beauty of this place. It is located in the Wdzydze Landscape Park itself. There is only one neighbor living behind the fence, and the nearest asphalt road is 4 km away through the forest. You can hear the clanging of cranes, bird concerts in the morning, and sometimes even a badger will drop by. If you dream of a vacation home by the lake with its own shoreline, a beautiful garden and an interesting history, you couldn't have come to a better place.

A family from Sopot and Kashubia at the same time. A story like many on Slowhop, according to the script: rushing life in the city, searching for a nice place to catch your breath, combined with childhood memories, a stroke of luck and a lot of work - ending with a love story with a new place. We found our home in spite of the established criteria: it was supposed to be a small house on a small plot; but when the most important things were right: a navigable lake, the middle of the forest and the right distance from the Tri-City - there was no hesitation. So now we have a big house on a big plot, where our friends love to come, and we try to be here at least every weekend, regardless of the weather. Here you can breathe!
The host is not an entrepreneur
