You don't have to write poems here—though they would certainly be inspiring. Perhaps you simply need to write a short chapter in your daily life? One about a delightful weekend in Kazimierz? It's hard to experience the charms of this town better than in an old wooden cottage, full of antiques and color, surrounded by a wild garden. That's what Jan Zalewski, poet, writer, and songwriter, believed when he moved this house to Kazimierz Dolny. He called it his oasis of creativity. Perhaps it was here that he wrote the lyrics to one of his ballads for Irena Santor or Zbigniew Wodecki? And even if you don't leave with a song, you will leave with vivid memories. Of mornings on the porch with a cup of warm coffee and breakfasts in the kitchen with its old tiled stove. Of leisurely walks to the town—its art galleries, cafés, and summer festivals. And the longer ones, through the ravines, and along the river to Mięćmierz. If you've always been drawn to the artistic life of Kazimierz Dolny and dream of a vacation like your grandmother's, the Poet's House is the right place.

The house has one bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

The room offers the following sleeping arrangements:
– a large double bed (with a double green headboard),
– a fold-out sofa bed,
– an optional extra bed for a fifth person.

There's also a small terrace overlooking the ravine below.

This is the perfect getaway for a couple or a family of 2.

The house is heated and open year-round.

You can buy fresh eggs from the neighbors. Less than a 15-minute walk from the house is the market square, which is full of good restaurants. Our favorites are Artystyczna, Bajgiel, Korzeniowa, and Zielona Tawerna. At Artystyczna and Bajgiel, be sure to try the chicken soup with dumplings!

A recipe for a leisurely vacation in Kazimierz might look like this:
– take walks through the gorges – two of them, Korzeniowy and Czarny, are located a few minutes' walk from Kazimierz.
– visit historical monuments, such as the Franciscan Monastery and the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist and St. Bartholomew.
– learn the history of the Kazimierz granaries, which served as grain storage during the city's heyday – you can admire them from the Three Crosses Hill or the promenade along the Vistula River.
– escape to Miećmierz, a village known as a living open-air museum, and from Albrechtówka Hill (right next to the windmill) admire the ruins of Janowiec Castle, the village, and the Cow Island Nature Reserve. From the viewing point, it's worth taking a walk to the ruins of Stanisław Szukalski's villa,
- visiting the castle in Janowiec,
- getting on a bike and following the red trail on the Kazimierz Dolny – Wąwolnica – Nałęczów – Wojciechów – Dąbrowica – Lublin route, or just a section of it,
- pedaling the 16 km to the fortified settlement in Żmijowiska,
- kayaking on the Chodelka River, e.g., from Szczekarków Kolonia Młyn to Kazimierz Dolny, approximately 13 km,
- sunbathing on the nudist beach (the beach is periodically flooded by the Vistula River).

Kazimierz offers a wealth of cultural activities during the summer season:
– the end of June is the National Festival of Folk Bands and Singers,
– mid-July – Kazimiernikejszyn, a no-frills event: not only musical, but also simply social,
– early August – the "Two Riversides" Film and Art Festival,
– then "Wings over Kazimierz,"
– early September – Pardes Festival – Encounters with Jewish Culture Kazimierz Dolny/Janowiec
– in the summer months – the Organ Festival, local produce fairs, and many other events.

And if you prefer to avoid the crowds, visit Kazimierz after the season. It's intimate, charming, and equally beautiful.

In winter, there are skiing and snowboarding lessons, bonfires, and every year, firefighters organize a huge Śmigus Dyngus celebration in the market square. It's a great attraction for kids! You can even take a horse-drawn carriage ride. Additionally, Kazimierz hosts the annual Kazimiernikejszyn festival, which features numerous concerts and attractions, including for kids.

There is good GSM coverage at home, but no internet.
