Did you know that... we have more iodine in Roztocze than at the seaside? So if you were planning a trip to Sopot for health reasons, it's a good destination, but choose the one in the Lublin region. We named one of our two cottages Sopot, and before you think it's an aberration, check out the map to see which rivers flow in the area.

Idyllic in Roztocze offers two cottages to choose from, each with a different character:
- Sopot (~32 m², up to 4 people) – intimate, with a library and a mezzanine. Designed for couples and those who appreciate cozy interiors.
- Jeleń (~64 m², up to 8 people) – spacious, with a fireplace, three bedrooms, and a relaxation area overlooking the forest. For families, friends, or couples who like to have more space.

Both cottages are located on the edge of the 430-year-old village of Ciotusza Nowa, where the Sopot River originates. Our private forest seamlessly connects with the forests of Krasnobród Landscape Park – a perfect starting point for hikes, bike rides, kayaking trips, and, in winter, Olympic-class cross-country skiing trails. If you're feeling adventurous, you can take advantage of the many active options available. If not, you don't have to do anything at all.

We invite you to our cottages, where instead of watching TV, you can gaze out at the forest through panoramic windows. A squirrel and the neighbor's cat will greet you on the terrace, birdsong will wake you up in the morning, and a starry sky will take your breath away in the evening.

Idyllic in Roztocze offers two cottages named after Roztocze rivers. Choose the one that best suits your plans:

Sopot Cottage (up to 4 people)
Smaller, more intimate. On the ground floor, there's a living room with a kitchen, comfortable armchairs, and a bookcase – the perfect spot to curl up with a book for a few hours with a cup of coffee.

On the mezzanine, there's a bedroom with a large double bed. There's also a fold-out sofa in the living room, so the cottage can accommodate a couple with a child or friends. It also has its own terrace with a gas grill and a view of the forest.

Deer Cottage (up to 8 people)
Twice the size of Sopot. On the ground floor, there's a living room with a fireplace and panoramic windows – in the evening, the fire crackles, the forest darkens outside, making it hard to leave. There's a separate kitchen with an oven, a bathroom, and a double bedroom. The mezzanine level features two enclosed bedrooms and a relaxation area with an armchair and a Brazilian chair – a perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee and a view of the treetops. A fold-out sofa in the living room is perfect for larger groups. A private terrace with a gas grill and the forest is within easy reach.

Both cottages are built from wood sourced from local sawmills and Józefów stone. On the nearly 3,000 m² plot, approximately 2,000 m² is our private forest. A hammock, deck chairs, a fire pit with wood, and binoculars for birdwatching are available.

Leave your dog and kitten in our care – unfortunately, we don't accept pets. We love them dearly, but we don't want them to leave allergens behind for future guests.

The kitchens in both cottages have everything you need – an induction cooktop, dishwasher, coffee maker, pots and pans. Jeleń also has an oven and a larger refrigerator.

Don't feel like cooking? There are several places nearby that we often return to: trout in several varieties at Chata Rybaka, Neapolitan pizza at Angolo di Pino, or pierogi at Pierogarnia Józefowska. We send guests a full list of our favorites before their arrival.

Regional products are a separate chapter. Roztocze produces fantastic cheeses, sourdough bread, and cold-pressed oils, and one of the apiaries has been recommended in the yellow Gault & Millau guide. For bread, it's worth visiting the "U Dzidy" bakery in Józefów. And if you prefer to start your day without leaving the cottage, we work with local catering company Wysnackowane, which prepares and delivers breakfast boxes with products from Roztocze producers to your door. Two mobile shops also come by every morning. They offer bread, dairy products, and cold cuts – you don't even have to get in your car.

The private forest merges with the forests of Krasnobrodzki Landscape Park. A short drive through fields stretching to the horizon will take you to Solska Forest, Czartowe Pole, and Szumy on the Tanew River. The area is ideal for hiking and biking (including singletrack in Józefów!), kayaking, and exploring Orthodox churches, historic cemeteries, and Molotov Line bunkers. The forests are full of mushrooms in autumn, berries in summer, and iodine year-round.

In winter, the surrounding slopes are mainly suitable for beginners, but the cross-country skiing trails in Tomaszów Lubelski are Olympic-class – a female athlete from the local club competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics.

But you don't have to do all that… at our Sielanka, you don't have to. You can simply snuggle up under a pine tree and spend the day reading a book in a hammock. We admit, it's one of our favorite things to do.

We welcome children, but preferably those a bit older – parents and guardians are responsible for their safety. The forest may contain poisonous mushrooms and fruit, and the cottage has stairs and a mezzanine.

We don't have a playground, which might prompt some young guests to say, "Mom, I'm bored!" – but it does provide adults with a respite from children's screams. Instead, you can watch ants, feed a squirrel, search for hedgehogs and lizards in the forest, count woodpeckers and tits, pet the neighbor's cat, and in the evening, listen to the hooting of an owl.

Fancy a few days of "workation"? We have fiber-optic internet – the average speed is 300 Mbps. Cell phone coverage can be problematic in Roztocze, but it's quite good here – video meetings aren't a problem.

At Domek Sopot, you'll find a desk with a comfortable chair. At Jeleń, working is best at the table in the living room or on the mezzanine, although there's also a desk in a quiet corner.

And after work? You close your laptop, step out onto the terrace, and listen to the forest come to life.
