Warsaw residents love to go to Kazimierz Dolny for their summer holidays. And where do the residents of Kazimierz go? In the interwar period, they flocked to Zawada. The unique microclimate of this village, nestled among the picturesque hills of the Kazimierz Landscape Park, was unparalleled. Decades later, it captivated me so much that I decided to create my own home here. Enamoured by the traditional architecture of rural houses and interiors, surrounded by ravines, I built four cottages that could have stood there forever. Their atmosphere is due, among other things, to the wood from the demolition of old cottages and the surrounding stone. But certainly not only that.
Because the Seventh Forest, besides its fairytale location and charming architecture, also offers wonderful people and unique cuisine, which is what many people come here for. We cater to vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free options, and even follow the diet of St. Hildegard of Bingen. Her medieval recipes haven't aged a bit for those who want to support their health with a balanced diet. We're also famous for our fruit and vegetable and aloe detoxes. We offer a wide range of options to suit your needs. Accommodation at Siódmy Las includes three meals. My name is Barbara Ravensdale and I own Siódmy Las. I spent my youth in Lublin, but it was here, among the trees and silence, that I found my place. Siódmy Las was love at first sight – a space I wanted to create in harmony with nature and my own dreams.
When building it, I focused on recycling and simplicity: I used wood from old cottages in the area, enriched with local stone. This gave the whole place the character of an ancient, misty habitat – full of charm and natural warmth.
When designing Siódmy Las, I was guided by what has always been dear to me: spacious verandas, large windows opening the house to the greenery, branches of flowering trees hanging down to the ground and swaying in the wind. I wanted every detail to have soul – even the little details, like the bedding with its delicate, hand-crocheted hem. I love rural style and Polish folklore – their simplicity, authenticity, and roots in tradition. These inspired me to create Siódmy Las, which is not only a place to relax but also a space where you can experience the spirit of the old Polish countryside.
