It's unclear whether more of Roztocze's delights await beyond the green door or in front of it. On one side, wild birds chirp above the pool at the bottom of my plot. This is where the extraordinary sunrise spectacles unfold. The fiery-hued landscape unfolds, with deer shamelessly nibbling away at the farmers' crops. Beyond the door, however, lies all the magic of a wooden cottage – the enveloping scent of wood, an idyllic kitchen with a vase of wildflowers and English porcelain, and an old tiled stove just like Grandma's. Dreaming of a country vacation? Roztocze will more than fulfill your dream. Life moves slower here than the petrol lawnmower I had to learn to use when I decided to take care of the old cottage and its grounds. For company, besides the greedy deer, you'll also find storks and wild hamsters, which are protected in Roztocze. If you'd like, you can go kayaking on the nearby Wieprz River. If you prefer, grab a SUP and go paddling on the Nielisz Reservoir. And if you're in the mood for a bit of culture, Zamość is just a 30-minute drive away. Let me offer you not just one, but several ideas for an idyllic getaway. I invite you to an old cottage with a new look.

Inspired by the Ruiners trend, we've prepared a country cottage for you, renovated in 2025 to preserve its atmosphere and heart, which is as much as we managed to salvage from the old beams and walls. A single woodworm remains from the attic, in a beam in the vestibule, because we couldn't bring ourselves to chase it away. The living room boasts two country beds, a fold-out sofa, a desk, a wardrobe, and, of course, a tiled fireplace. The mezzanine has four single beds (can be pushed together), each with its own lamp and a touch of privacy. Note that the maximum height here is no more than 2 meters. The cottage is furnished with old books and newspapers, and a record player, which will transport you back to the interwar period. There's also a projector for a shared movie viewing experience. The fireplace encourages reading and meditating in silence, or listening to the spectacle of nature outside the windows. Pheasants squabble daily, goats bark, and in the fall, all the rodents try to move into the house with the food supplies. Hamsters are also common, but they are protected and not at all eager to be petted. Therefore, we kindly ask that you keep your doors and windows closed. In the summer, windows can be opened, but only where there are mosquito nets. The living room also has air conditioning. The kitchen is fully equipped, with an oven, dishwasher, and water filter. Please do not buy bottled water. The entire house has underfloor heating.

There's a local CIS bar in the village, where the ladies cook deliciously, eggs from the neighbor, a bakery, and two shops nearby. Kasia's shop sells delicious homemade jams, juices, vegetables from her garden, and if you smile nicely, you can even order pierogi.

Sunrises on the slope of the plot are a must. There's a stunning view of the floodplain, with birds and deer grazing on the farmers' crops.

Nearby is the manor house at Staw Noakowski 99, with a graduation tower and a gym. Moczydło Beach in Nielisz is 2 km away, and another one is 5 km away in Kulikowo. Two stand-up paddleboards are available at the cottage, along with a ping-pong table, an art studio on the property, old books and newspapers, a projector, a hammock, and kayaking. Cycling trips are a must.

The Wieprz River next to the plot offers fishing opportunities. The company of storks and wild hamsters (which are protected in the Roztocze region) is guaranteed.
