Gerald Durrell, naturalist, zoologist, and writer, would feel like he's in paradise here, and Krystyna Czubówna would certainly have her hands full. Leśna Ostoja is located on the edge of the Piska Forest, one of the wildest and least populated areas of Masuria. Red deer, roe deer, moose, wolves, lynx, and beavers are permanent residents here, and the area is perfect for long walks and active leisure. In the heart of this green tranquility stands Leśna Ostoja, a brick house from 1934, which, after a thorough renovation, combines history with the comfort of modern relaxation. Only the forest and lakes tell the rest of the story, so pack your binoculars and set off on an adventure where nature tells the story.

Leśna Ostoja (Forest Refuge) is a place we created out of a desire to be close to nature and live at a more peaceful pace. We acquired the house years later, and from the outset, we knew we wanted to restore its character without stripping it of its history. During the renovation, we aimed to preserve the spirit of this place and combine it with the comfort we ourselves value during our trips.
Zamordeje and the Piska Forest captivated us with their silence, space, and the wilderness that is truly within reach. We wanted to create a home where we welcome people seeking relaxation, simple pleasures, time together, and unhurried contact with nature.
We are delighted when guests feel at ease here, slowing down, lighting a fire, strolling through the forest, or simply sitting by the fireplace. We care for this place with respect for its history and surroundings, and we ask only one thing: to enjoy Leśna Ostoja mindfully, because nature is its true steward.
