At a glance
Lake Dobrskie has a difficult-to-pronounce name in Kashubian: Lake Dabrzewscze. The area around Dobra captivated us with its sleepy summer village atmosphere, far from any developed resort, yet close to the forest and a pier from which you can cast a fishing rod or kayak across the lake. Although we live in England, the lakeside spot where Merlin's House is located is our favorite. Whenever we can, we hop on our minibus and come here to conjure up new pleasures for our guests. We even brought a piano so you could have your own evening recitals amidst the croaking of the frogs, a record player with vinyl records, and lots and lots of books. We love fairytale atmospheres. We also care about ecology: we built everything we could in the cottage ourselves. Nearby, next to Morgan's Cottage, the second cottage we built, we built a greenhouse ourselves. It has one permanent resident: Parówka, a kitten who has been coming to the site ever since we started construction. So we created a small entrance for him to enter the greenhouse and placed a sofa inside. Perhaps you'll have the opportunity to meet Parówka during your visit to Kashubia. However, this isn't certain, as all visitors to Merlin's House are free spirits.

Hi, this is Jacek. Iwona and I live in London – she's an interior designer, and I'm a general contractor. We created Merlin's House in Poland, fascinated by the movie about the wizard and its magical atmosphere. Inside, you'll find some family heirlooms, a touch of English style, and a lot of our work together. This place was born from our hands and hearts – I built it, Iwona designed it and furnished it.
It's best to discover Merlin's House slowly – piece by piece, just like we did. There's plenty of space, peace, and nature around us, and we ourselves have a huge love for animals, so we're always thrilled when guests bring their pets along.
