Near Mikołajki, on Lake Inulec, there is Zełwągi, and in it Chrosiówka - a house in the village located in front of the local beach. A house with a large, almost hectare yard, where there is a playground, a shed, a fireplace, a mini forest and a piece of wild meadow. And soon there will also be an atmospheric Masurian log cabin.
There is something in Zełwągi that makes you want to be here. Some special bond between people and an acceptance of otherness. Maybe because before the war the first Mormon settlement in Poland was established here? Maybe because history has really mixed up the population in these lands? Or maybe Zełwągi is just like that? We do not know. But the fact is that they act as a magnet. When someone comes here once, they usually come back every year.
In Chrosiówka, we have three rooms for you with a view of the lake and hilly meadows. We have real food and warmth. In the winter, we have warmth and books, in the summer, we have a beach and sparks above the fire. Come on over. We are not going anywhere yet.
We have a whole attic with a separate entrance for you. It's not a crazy space, because there's only a kitchen and 3 rooms with bathrooms. However, thanks to this, it's homely and intimate.
We can accommodate up to 7 people (including children) in the rooms.
If you like great coffee and a good book, you might like us. If you prefer cycling, kayaking or a morning run ending with a swim in the lake - we have that too. Or maybe you're looking for a place for lovers of long walks in the forest, guitar and bonfires? We invite you!
When booking, choose one of our rooms. Rooms no. 1 and 2 are on the north side and have a beautiful view of the lake. On the other hand, room no. 3 on the south side is the only one with air conditioning. In each room we have a comfortable double bed, in room 1 there is also an additional sofa bed for one person. If you are a 2+1 family, we will offer you room no. 1. If you have two children, we will offer you two rooms - for your convenience and the convenience of other guests :)
In each room you will also find a large wardrobe, chest of drawers, table, armchair, soft wool carpets, lots of books, warm blankets for cool evenings (if you feel like stargazing, because we have central heating in the rooms), in the hall board and card games for spending time in the unplugged version.
You should know that in addition to the rooms, we also rent a wooden house - Chata Chrosiówka for a maximum of 8 people. So you will share part of the yard with the guests of the cottage, i.e. a place for a bonfire and a playground for children. The shelter and part of the yard in front of the house are designated only for guests of the rooms. There are also two parking lots. Our yard is almost a hectare of land, so there is plenty of space.
It is also worth adding that our house is located in the village, so we have neighbors. We have a large yard surrounded by trees and bushes and it is usually very quiet but we cannot guarantee complete peace and quiet. One of the neighbors also receives guests, sometimes someone mows the grass and sometimes someone chops wood. As in the countryside. In the summer Zełwągi are a bit more noisy and cheerful, but from September to June we have a real idyll here:)
We have arranged the kitchen so that everyone can prepare something delicious. Don't hesitate to use it.
You will find everything you need here:
- dishes, cutlery, pots,
- electric hob and microwave,
- fridge and electric kettle,
- coffee maker, French press, dripper (overflow), grinder and milk frother
- sugar, salt, specialty coffee and tea.
Nearby, you can order home-cooked meals at Małgosia's outside the season (and sometimes also during the season, it's worth asking). Małgosia will prepare not only dinner but, if necessary, the entire menu for a small family party! She also bakes amazing challah and makes delicious cakes. And her soup is poetry. Let us know in advance and we will give you the contact details so you can make an appointment :)
You can try our products here for some time now. It started with a search for simple, good food. Now we have gained momentum and are making rennet cheese, baking sourdough rye bread, and making real live apple cider vinegar and beer. It turned out that the devil is not that scary and that the secret is good ingredients and a little heart.
For cheese, we only use milk from Zelwa cows, appropriate bacterial cultures, rennet and salt. In turn, the breads are made of eco-rye flour from Młynomag (the 600-year-old mill in Reszel is the oldest operating mill in Poland), grains, water and salt. Come for a slice of bread and butter!
During the season, you can definitely eat well in the nearby Królicza Nora or Zełwęgi Restaurant. You can also kayak to the other side of the lake to the Muranka fish fryer for the best fish in the area. On site, we will show you more tasty addresses in the area. And the best coffee and breakfasts are served at our favorite bistro Przechowalnia Marzeń in Mikołajki.
In the summer, we recommend a village beach right under the windows or wild beaches in the forest. On the beach we have a volleyball court, gym, amphitheater and safe entry to the water. On site we have deckchairs, hammocks, kayaks and for anglers their own pier - right by the beach, by the neighbor's shore. There are games, cards, balls to play with. Nearby forest paths are ideal for walking and cycling. We have a few bikes, but if you ride more, we recommend taking your own. There are many bike routes and they are exceptionally picturesque, after all, we are in the buffer zone of the Piska Forest and in the Masurian Landscape Park!
Reserve some time for reading books from our library and such ordinary pleasures as enjoying aromatic coffee (we have specialty coffee from Olsztyn Kofikada), staring at the stars, long evenings by the campfire and quiet afternoons in a hammock. Only then can you feel that with us there is more time for everything.
In the meadow behind the house there is a bonfire and a shelter, right next to the house there is another shelter with hammocks. You can comfortably feast here or just have a coffee or green tea in the morning.
For those who are visiting Masuria for the first time, we also recommend such evergreens as Mikołajki, Leśniczówka Pranie, Gierłoż, Sztynort, rafting on the Krutynia river or the more wild Sapina or Twierdza Boyen. Although we prefer to go there after the season.
What’s there for children?
Welcome to the house where dirty children mean happy holidays. That is why we encourage our guests to give their children more freedom. Point number one is of course the village beach, which is right next door. Our children claim that the water temperature is ideal from May to the end of September. On the beach, as on any beach, there is a pile of sand, a large playground and half a hectare of meadow.
On the hill behind the house we also have our own playground. It will be especially appreciated by school-age children. Wojtek made all the toys himself according to our daughters' ideas. The designers were demanding and you could hear every now and then: "Dad, this will be too easy...", so Dad tried and instead of a playground, we got a combat obstacle course...
We also have toys, board games and books for children.
What’s there for employees?
If you don't have excessive needs, i.e. for work, all you need is a view of the lake, available internet, a wooden table and good coffee, in fact... we have everything :) We also have hammocks in front of the house and a shelter with electrical sockets if someone likes to work outside .
If you would like to work longer with us, ask for an individual offer, we invite you!
