You'll find relaxation here in all its forms, though aimless relaxation is the best option. Aimlessly, you can gaze from the jetty at the lake, wander the surrounding forests, and sit by the fire until it gets quite late. Doesn't that sound like a brilliant plan that...wouldn't be realized? I invite you to a cottage hidden in a forest grove by the waters of Lake Świekatowskie. Few people know the Chełmno region, so this will give you an advantage over couples and families seeking a leisurely getaway. Historic Kulmerland is part of the Vistula Pomerania region, bordering Kociewie and the Tuchola Forest. The Tucholski and Wdecki landscape parks, as well as the nearby forests of the Różanna Forest District, are waiting to be discovered. From Bydgoszcz, you can reach my lakeside retreat in 50 minutes, from Gdańsk in 2 hours, and from Poznań in 2.5. So, see you at the lake?

The cottage I'm offering for your use is a barn-style building with glazed windows facing the lake and south, creating a sense of space and light (though blinds are available for those who need temporary blackout on the ground floor).

The ground floor is a shared space around the fireplace and kitchen, which also houses one bathroom. Upstairs is the bedroom area (sleeping 4) and the living area – an open space with individualized corners for beds (at night), sofas, and armchairs. However, please note that there is no lockable bedroom, so if you're sleeping upstairs with four people, it's important to have a group that's comfortable with each other.

The cottage features a kitchenette equipped with a spacious table and all the necessary appliances and spices – I invite you to join me in cooking at your own pace.

And those of you who need a change and a break from cooking can stroll to the local inn by the lake (a 15-minute walk), open seasonally, or drive to nearby inns about 12 km away. Incidentally, you'll be able to purchase local farmers' produce along the road: honey from their apiary, berries and mushrooms from the forest, or sample their preserves.

The weather doesn't matter here, because you can find something refreshing to do any time of year.

Summer is a time for swimming in the lake (near the cottage or on the nearby beach), boating, fishing, or surfing, riding along bike paths, basking in the sun's rays penetrating through the leaves; it's a time for breakfast on the terrace, shared barbecues, evening bonfires by the lakeshore, and long conversations.

Autumn is Indian summer, a time when vacationers depart and silence descends, and nature is at its most abundant – you can draw from it to the fullest by wandering through the forests of the Tuchola Forest. These autumn days are generally sunny, but even on drizzly ones, you can feel part of nature here.

Winter feels like a time for concentration and quiet: sitting by the window to soak up the extraordinary view of the lake surrounded by trees for hours, listening to music, reading, playing games – just being together. And on long evenings – sink into the darkness, light a fire in the fireplace, prepare a warm candlelight dinner – and listen to yourself like never before....

And finally, spring arrives, with that immense longing to return to life: Guests seize every warm moment outside the cottage – breakfasts on the terrace, sitting in armchairs, still in their jackets, but already surrounded by warm sunlight, a fresh breeze, and buds opening. And with each day, the chirping of birds in the morning grows more intense, and each evening the frogs' concerts from the nearby pond grow louder.

The cottage's activities and atmosphere vary throughout the year, yet Guests almost always leave refreshed and full of energy.

For children, a holiday here means swimming at the nearby guarded beach, skydiving from the jetty, fishing, trying their hand at the nearby playground, cycling around the lake on the bike paths, and hiking in the fields and forests. It's also a time for exploring the nearby meadows and bushes, building secret passages and shelters, climbing a willow tree torn with age, or simply observing snails after a rain. Summer offers the opportunity for free creative play outdoors: constructing structures on the terrace with large wooden blocks, painting rocks as souvenirs, or creating figurines from natural collections.

On cooler days, children have their own corner by the upstairs shelf, stocked with toys, blocks, puzzles, games, and art supplies. They can play peacefully on the rug while mom or dad sits nearby in an armchair or sofa – in front of a glass wall drenched in pouring rain. And in the evenings, before bed, children can choose from the shelf books with poems and stories by literary classics.

The cottage is connected to fiber optics, so there's no problem with internet connection.

Downstairs, there's a spacious table that can be used for work, as can the table on the terrace.

There are also sofas and armchairs downstairs and upstairs – all spotlit, so you can feel cozy and focused while working on your laptop, in your own space – listening to your own music from the amplifiers, and enjoying the view of the lake (some say breathtaking ;)).
