The ingredients for the devil's cauldron are simple: forest, forest, and more forest. And on the slopes of a village said to be the most beautiful in the Bieszczady Mountains. Dating back to the 16th century, Strzebowiska has seen more than one historic storm, but today it only looks out at the mountains, surrounding it on all sides, close and majestic. However, to be able to gaze upon them, you'll have to emerge from the trees. The clearing, where the herbalist's cottage, which could easily accommodate a cheerful Bieszczady devil, is surrounded by 2 hectares of our forest. This is a place for those who consider wild nature synonymous with peace and seek contact with it within easy reach. Inside the cottage with a chimney, you'll be greeted by warm cake, the smell of wood, and herbs to brew in your own cauldron. Nearby trails are perfect for hiking, the famous Siekierezada in Cisna will welcome Bieszczady locals, and after a day of adventures, you can sit by the fireplace and listen to the silence. You'll feel incredibly good.

The cottage features a comfortable, fold-out corner sofa right next to the fireplace. A wooden shelf filled with books on herbs and the Bieszczady Mountains is directly opposite, along with a window overlooking the forest and a kitchenette. A wood-comb table, two chairs, and a wooden chest for seating are located by the window. A comfortable 200x160 cm double bed awaits on the mezzanine.

The cottage is perfect as a couple's hideaway or as a base for hiking. The cottage's atmosphere is unmistakable: wood-burning furniture, a stone and wood fireplace, wooden sculptures and bas-reliefs, and a comfortable, atmospheric bathroom. All this creates a cozy atmosphere.

As a welcome gift, you will receive a homemade cake from us, still warm :) Local products are also available, mainly herbal (we run forest and herbal agritourism).

You can stroll around the cottage in the most beautifully situated village in the Bieszczady Mountains or on one of the many mountain, hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding trails.

More specifically, you'll find yourself in the heart of the Bieszczady Mountains, in the Ciśniańsko-Wetliński Landscape Park. We have a few tried-and-true recommendations for you:

– Our village, Strzebowiska, is called the most beautiful village in the Bieszczady Mountains. It lies on the northern slope of Jasło. Houses are scattered over several kilometers. Walking through this area, you'll encounter herds of horses. There are two stud farms offering rides, walks, and riding lessons.

– For your first trip, we recommend the trail to the summit of Duże Jasło (1153m above sea level), which you ascend directly from the cottage, initially along a car-free forest road, known as the Fereczata Forest Cycle Trail. You'll reach the yellow trail and in an hour you'll be at the summit. From Duże Jasło, we recommend hiking to Okrąglik and Fereczata, descending the red trail to Smerek, and returning along the forest bike trail to the cottage. This scenic loop offers a less-traveled trail, offering stunning views of the entire Slovak side. With good visibility, you can even see the Tatra Mountains and the mountains of Ukraine.

- From Cisna, it's worth climbing Jeleni Skok, also known as Mochnaczka (777 m above sea level). At the top, there's an observation tower, where you can admire views of the villages and hills. Two trails lead to the summit, allowing you to create a loop. One is the historical and natural trail "Above the Adit," which commemorates the "Róża" adit that operated in this area in the 19th century, belonging to the Fredro family. Iron ore was mined there for the local steelworks.

- You can rent bikes in our village! A few suggestions for two-wheelers:

*Sine Wiry (nature reserve) - you can reach this place via the main Bieszczady loop, heading down Strzebowiska. After Sine Wiry, the Bieszczady Historical Trail leads you along the Wetlinka River through the former villages of Jaworzec, Łuh, and Zawój. Along the way, you'll encounter restored old orchards, Orthodox churches, and other traces of former inhabitants. Information boards describing the history of these areas are also available along the route. It's also worth climbing Jaworzec and visiting a shepherd's hut.

In Cisna:
* Singletrack pod Honem is a 13-kilometer trail leading to the summit of Hon (820 m above sea level), with a shepherd's hut there as well.
* The Roztoki Górne – Solinka trail runs along the foothills of the Hyrlateja range. But there are many more...

– The interesting and historic Bieszczady Narrow Gauge Railway is the perfect choice when it's raining outside. The open-carriage train departs from the main station in Majdan (10 km from us). You can take a scenic 2-hour round trip to Balnica. In Balnica, you can try the famous jagodzianki (jagodzianki) or the typical "pajda" (sandwich) with lard, washed down with mulled wine.

– And the mountains? The possibilities are endless. You can head to the mountain pastures: Połonina Wetlińska with Roh (1255 m above sea level), Smerek (1222 m above sea level), or climb Wołosań, 1071 m above sea level (it's part of the main Carpathian tourist trail leading from Komańcza to the High Bieszczady Mountains). We highly recommend Bukowe Berdo, Mała and Wielka Rawka, Dział, and the famous Tarnica with a loop through Halicz and Rozsypaniec - you can't get any further southeast than that ;)
