At a glance
Matygówka doesn't pretend to be a mountain hut or a folkloric postcard. It's a place for those who appreciate a mature mountain experience: thoughtful, unhurried, and classy. The villa looks as if someone carefully studied the Podhale landscape and then translated it into the language of contemporary architecture. It's a fresh interpretation of a mountain home: elegant, boutique, and meticulously crafted. Natural wood, stone, and soft fabrics warm the modern lines, and the interiors embody the discipline of good design—nothing is accidental, nothing is superfluous. Local craftsmanship meets minimalist form, and traditional motifs become subtle accents rather than attention-grabbing decorations.
Villa Matygówka, along with its sister project, which is yet to open, is located in Gliczarów Górny. It's one of the highest-altitude villages in Poland. A place where Podhale reveals its more austere, less touristy side. Instead of the bustle of the promenade, there's space, a breeze carrying the scent of the forest, and a panoramic view of the Tatra Mountains, a sight that's part of everyday life here. We don't think you'll ever tire of it, but remember that the richness of Podhale is within your reach. From here, it's close to Bukowina with its thermal baths and pastoral tradition, close to Zakopane with its energy, folklore, and Witkiewicz-esque architecture—but still far enough away for the quiet, majestic mountains to take center stage.

Welcome! Three years ago, we began building an inspiring space for active recreation in the Podhale region. Matygówka Retreat Villas consists of two houses perched on a slope, offering captivating panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains. As mountain people, we wanted the house to blend seamlessly into the majestic Podhale landscape, offering a close-knit experience of nature. We meticulously crafted every detail. We took care of the ecological aspects and the carefully considered architecture of the building. We combined the beauty of nature and Podhale traditions with a modern, thoughtful, and comfortable design. The rooms are filled with the scent of wood. The soaring peaks of the Tatra Mountains peek in through large, panoramic windows. The interiors are wonderfully cozy, yet also designed sustainably, utilizing modern technologies that make life effortless.
