Have you ever taken a goat for a walk? Chances are good the answer is no – so you should know that our animals are always eager for a stroll in the hills. And have you ever made ricotta? The kind made from the fresh milk of our own goats and sheep is second to none. What do you know about the edible and medicinal plants found on the slopes of the Apennines? We'd love to join you on a short trip, followed by a picnic, where we'll share our knowledge.

We invite you to a place where even the chickens are welcome to be petted. iLMonte Farmhouse is our recipe for a good Italian life: full of the flavors, shapes, and colors of almost everything that can be grown in the Abruzzo countryside. Our daily lives are filled with work and satisfaction, and we are accompanied by animals: both farm animals and domestic animals. The farm consists of two semi-detached houses – we live in one, and the other is entirely yours. It's perfect for a family or a small group: it has two bedrooms and a fold-out sofa. Come and explore this untouristy yet beautiful part of Italy, near the Majella National Park. Towns strung like beads along the roads await. And here, on our hillside, simple stories unfold – life flowing in the rhythm of nature is enhanced by rustic fine dining, which our guests will remember long after their departure.

Ground floor:
– living room with fireplace, sofa bed, and armchairs,
– toilet,
– kitchenette with dining area,
– covered terrace with direct access from the living room, with loungers, table and chairs, and a portable grill.

First floor with internal and external stairs:
– hallway,
– larger bedroom with a double bed, space for a cot, wardrobe, chests of drawers, desk, and chair; – smaller bedroom with two single beds and a chest of drawers,
– bathroom with shower, toilet, sink, and cabinets.

Farm life takes place behind the house, in the garden, and on the terrace overlooking the slopes. However, please note that the house is located by the road. This is important information, especially for parents, so we especially encourage those with older children to stay.

We offer full-board stays (breakfast, 3-course dinner with wine) or self-catering options – the kitchen includes coffee, tea, and sugar. Guests receive homemade jams and access to the garden during their stay, and organic produce is available for purchase.

It's also possible to order individual dinners. We don't offer breakfast only.
If you're unsure whether you'd like full-board, we can arrange, for example, dinner on the day of arrival and breakfast the following day. Then you can decide what to do next.

For 126 PLN (approx. 30 EUR), instead of dinner and breakfast, we can also offer dinner with a tasting menu and premium wine. This is a great option for parents after the kids have gone to bed. Or perhaps you're looking to celebrate a special occasion? Daily dinners are equally delicious, but less elaborate.

We can accommodate any dietary needs.

Full board:
We prepare all meals using as much of our own organic produce as possible: milk, cheese, goat yogurt, chicken and duck eggs, vegetables and fruit, jams, preserves, herbs, and we also use wild edible plants, from greens to nuts and edible flowers. We cook seasonally and locally, adding our own twist to traditional dishes.

Breakfast: espresso coffee, herbal tea, juice, water, fresh goat milk, yogurt, bread, local cold cuts, our cheeses (goat and soon sheep), home-made eggs, homemade jams and preserves, local honey, butter, our own olive oil, and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Upon request, we prepare scrambled eggs, frittatas, and pancakes.

Dinner:
Antipasto – for example, bruschetta with pesto/truffles/cheese/tomatoes, a salad, or grilled or stuffed vegetables.

A hot dish based on pasta, rice, or meat/fish with seasonal ingredients; for example: egg chitarra pasta with lamb ragù OR chicken with herbs and lemon with roasted potatoes, salad, and seasonal vegetables OR risotto with pumpkin, melegueta pepper, and wild nuts.

A homemade dessert, such as lavender panna cotta OR ice cream with goat ricotta and caramelized figs OR rose tiramisu with wild cherries.

Add a generous helping of local white or red wine or a non-alcoholic alternative, such as kombucha or lemonade, juice for the kids, and a glass of homemade liqueur to finish.

We usually adapt the menu to the season, resources, but also the tastes, dietary requirements, and preferences of our guests.

As foodies, we'll suggest where to visit small producers of excellent food products, and where to enjoy a wonderful pizza, a traditional meal, or a culinary festival.

On the farm, we invite you to help with chores, such as milking or taking the goats for their daily walks. Those who enjoy it can also help with cleaning the poultry or goat shed. Depending on the season, we invite you to help or harvest in the garden.

For additional fees, we offer cheese and ricotta making lessons, cooking classes, walks with gathering wild edible and medicinal plants and a picnic, and workshops on making artisanal soaps.

The village has a playground with a picnic area and drinking water, making it a good base for walks in the surrounding hills, forests, and olive groves.

Farther afield, there are numerous charming towns reminiscent of the film "The American," castles and ruins, national parks and wildlife viewing points, mountain hiking trails, rivers and canoes, waterfalls, lakes, caves, as well as the beautiful Adriatic coast with cycling trails, sandy and rocky beaches, and nature reserves.

Above all, we enjoy interacting with our friendly animals: goats, sheep, dogs, a cat, and even the chickens, which we pet. In the mornings, you can join us for milking, feeding the birds, and searching for eggs. You can help us plant, weed, or harvest vegetables and fruit. Company while we walk the goats is always welcome.
Children usually enjoy learning about edible plants and flowers, eager to try different products, as is making cheese together. Horseback riding and bike rentals are also available nearby.

We also have books in various languages and board games, as well as some beach toys, Lego, and badminton.

Our house is more suitable for slightly older children due to the stairs and terrace.

The larger bedroom has a desk and chair for work, and you can also work from the table in the kitchen-dining room or on the terrace. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
