Before the war, all Warsaw residents knew it. The three-masted ship fired the imagination of the inhabitants of the Old Town and those who came from other districts to see it. The tenement house "Pod Okrętem", with a history dating back to the 15th century, belonged for centuries to, among others, a shearer, a barber, two goldsmiths and a wine merchant. However, the continuity of its story was interrupted by the war: during the Warsaw Uprising, almost all the buildings on our street were destroyed. Fortunately, in the 1950s, the bas-relief of the ship, once a symbol of the wine warehouse known throughout Warsaw, rose again on the waves above the reconstructed Renaissance portico. It so happens that this tenement house, rich in stories, was also our home for years. We docked at a port full of books, souvenirs from distant journeys and trinkets reminding us of the history of this place. Today, we invite you on a journey to the Old Town in Warsaw: to an apartment that inspires, warms with a cozy atmosphere and creates opportunities to discover the center of the capital on your own feet.

We invite you to our apartment in the Tenement House under the Ship in the heart of Warsaw's Old Town. The apartment is located on the main thoroughfare between the Royal Castle and the Market Square. Despite this, it's very quiet: the windows overlook an inner courtyard.

The apartment is sunny, has high ceilings, and boasts a charming staircase. It's located on the third floor, with no elevator. The windows offer a view of the tower of St. Martin's Church.

You can come as a couple for a romantic weekend or visit us with a group of up to four people. The apartment has one bedroom and an additional two sleeping spaces on the sofa in the living room. The sofa sleeps two, but is quite short – suitable for those not very tall.

Breakfast is a bit like Uber Eats, when you don't want to cook but also prefer not to see anyone. ;)
In the morning, at a pre-arranged time, we leave a basket of breakfast at your door.

As for dining recommendations in the Old Town – it's hard to list just a few! You're in the heart of Warsaw's galaxy, after all!

In any case, we most often stop at "Bazyliszek" on the Market Square.

You'll probably know best what to do in the center of Warsaw. :) The capital offers a wealth of opportunities for lovers of culture, art, and entertainment, for foodies, and those interested in the history of our city. From here, you'll be close to literally EVERYTHING. Museums, theaters, cinemas, excellent restaurants, and the most atmospheric cafes await you.

We also have something to surprise you with. We're leaving you the key to the basement of a tenement house. This originally preserved space survived the Warsaw Uprising. This is where residents hid from the bombings, and every brick remembers the pre-war era long ago.

Right next to the Old Town Market Square is the fantastic World of Illusions Museum.

In winter, also in the Market Square, you absolutely must visit the ice rink. If you bring your own skates, admission is free. Plus, there are walks, sightseeing, and ice cream and chips. You're welcome on the tour!

Behind the closed wardrobe doors lies... your workspace. A desk with a comfortable chair and special sound-absorbing panels. (Mateusz is a radio presenter and narrator. He recorded many a book from Audioteka in this wardrobe :)).

The table in the living room, on the other hand, is my versatile and favorite place. For eating, having coffee, and working – why not?
