Dreaming of the Canary Islands but don't want to live in a noisy, crowded hive of nothing? Come visit my modest, over-two-hundred-year-old, traditional home in Santa María de Guía. Here, you'll experience the atmosphere of delightful, sleepy island towns with historic buildings, and you can easily get to the beach, natural pools, or Gran Canaria's capital, even by public transport. I take care of this historic building myself and try to keep it in top condition, but of course, it has its quirks and can creak unexpectedly. It also requires climbing steep stairs – because that's how things used to be built here. However, I'm always nearby to help you sort out any inconveniences, and if you'd like, I can offer advice at any stage of your stay. I'd be happy to tell you about the island, help you organize attractions, and suggest unconventional sightseeing destinations for families, friends, hikers, and cyclists.

I'm a member of a small Polish community on the island, thanks to which I can organize yoga classes with transportation, massages, or other services upon request. You'll also find a gallery of works by local artists on the walls of my home. I'll welcome you with local delicacies and suggest delicious options at the nearby market. Our traditional, over a century-old, modest house will allow you to enjoy the charm of a small Canarian town. From the street, you enter the patio, and from there, stairs lead to the house, which is divided into two wings. To the right is one large bedroom with a double bed and another with two single beds. Adjacent to these is a large bathroom with two showers. On the left side of the house, you'll find a large double bedroom (where beds can be set up) and a smaller one with a single bed. In the center, you'll find the communal area: a living room with a sofa, TV, and a large table with chairs. There's also a dining room with a wine cellar and a dated but well-equipped kitchen. On the ground floor, there's a smaller bathroom with a shower. On the roof, you'll find a terrace with a relaxation area, sun loungers, a table, and a smoking area. This area can accommodate up to seven family members or a group of friends. I've kept the traditional local decor throughout, so at times you'll feel like you're in a museum, but whether you're on the terrace or in the nearby streets, you'll hear the bustle of the town and feel the salty ocean breeze.

In this area, you'll find traditional, affordable, and simple Canarian cuisine, famous local cheeses, delicious fruits and vegetables, fresh fish and seafood. Meanwhile, the island's capital offers a wide range of international cuisine. I'll be happy to offer you suggestions and point you in the right direction. You can also shop at the local market and cook delicious homemade dishes in our kitchen, then enjoy them al fresco on the terrace.

We're in the heart of a small, charming town full of narrow streets and historic, colorful houses, with an old church and several local pubs and cafes.

About 2 km from the house lies the oldest town on the island, Galdar – the island's first capital, with charming townhouses, numerous shops and restaurants, the Cueva Pintada archaeological park, the oldest church, and a local market in a historic hall.

Nearby, you can swim in the natural pools of Roque Prieto, bask in the sun on Bocabarranco beach, or explore the port town of Agaete.
Coffee plantations and vineyards are also located nearby. Visit Arucas, the oldest rum distillery in Gran Canaria.

For those interested in the geology of the Canary Islands, I recommend the nearby Cenobio de Valeron cave complex. And you can set off on mountain trails just a kilometer from home.

However, if you're bored with the sleepy tranquility of the Canary Islands, the island's capital, Las Palmas, with all its tourist attractions, is just 19 km away, 25 minutes via the convenient GC2 motorway or by bus (costing just a few euros). There, you'll find numerous museums, an old town, theaters, cinemas, restaurants, beaches, shops, and the Poema del Mar aquarium.

I warmly invite you to bring your children, but keep an eye on them on the steep stairs and terrace, as strollers won't be easy. However, we do have playgrounds, a municipal swimming pool, beaches, and natural pools. I also highly recommend a trip to the Poema del Mar Oceanarium.

There is Wi-Fi and plenty of space, and I am open and can organize the necessary things at the individual request of guests.
