Remember the Artur Andrus song "I drank in Spała, I slept in Piła"? The titular Spała, a picturesque forest spa town, lies 10 km away. And you'll have the opportunity to sleep in the forests of the Spała Landscape Park, which surround us on all sides. Our meadow, nestled among trees, borders the lazily flowing Struga River. Just imagine summer mornings on a jetty by the water and sultry summer afternoons spent soaking your feet in its current. A riverside vacation has something delightfully idle about it. As if time completely stands still, despite the trickling water. It's easier to spot tourists on bikes and ice cream from a vending machine by the lake – ducks and rustling grass reign supreme along the river, and people leave their business elsewhere. If you dream of an idyllic vacation but don't have time for long journeys from central Poland, come to Struga. There are 3 comfortable houses here, each with its own terrace and a soothing view of the greenery after waking up. We have a jacuzzi included in the price of your stay, bikes for rent, and your dogs can relax with you.
Three cottages are situated in a row on our meadow by a stream on the edge of Spała Landscape Park. They are surrounded by forest, and above the water, there's a bridge nestled in the grass, where you can relax and listen to the sounds of nature.
Our cottages are designed for a maximum of 6 people, although they're most comfortable for 4. They have two separate bedrooms upstairs (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds). There's also a small toilet upstairs. Downstairs, you'll find a spacious living room, a large bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. Every morning, you'll be greeted by a view from the window of the vast green space.
A gazebo with a barbecue, a garden jacuzzi, and patios with furniture in front of the cottages are at your disposal.
A great idea would be to come with a larger group, for example, three families – then the entire vast green space can be yours.
Dogs are welcome!
You'll have access to a small but well-equipped kitchenette with a dishwasher, so no one on vacation has to worry about washing dishes. If you're planning to cook for the whole family, consider that we have two-burner stoves. In the summer, however, we highly recommend the campfire with grill – it's fun for both kids and adults.
Need a break from cooking? There are several excellent restaurants nearby that we recommend for dinner.
If your definition of relaxation includes listening to the murmur of water, staring into the fire, and losing the signal in favor of communing with nature, then Domy nad Strugą will be the perfect place for your long-awaited forest break.
Here's what you can do while relaxing with us (besides sleeping until noon):
On-site (meaning a pajama party with nature):
· Struga Concerts: Our river (the eponymous Struga) is the ultimate natural therapist. You can sit by it with a coffee, soak your feet, and on warm days, splash around in its current.
· Barbecue moments: We have a fire pit where potatoes roast best in the sun, and conversations around the flames last until dawn.
· Applied terrace architecture: Each cottage has a terrace, perfect for doing nothing. Guests say that books read themselves here, and breakfasts with a view of the greenery always taste better.
· Jacuzzi: Awaiting those who like to soak up the sun before diving into the cooler evening current.
· Some exercise: We have a volleyball court and badminton sets that will keep you busy.
Nature (maximum 15 minutes from home):
· Kayaking on the Pilica River: For all those who love paddling – the calm current of the Pilica will take you on a relaxing trip.
· Blue Springs (Tomaszów Mazowiecki): A reserve where the water is so unnaturally turquoise that it's hard to believe it's not Photoshopped. Perfect for a stroll with a camera.
· Spała Forests on two wheels: We have bikes, and the surrounding area offers dozens of kilometers of forest paths. You can ride straight ahead and the only things you'll encounter are deer or silence.
Culture and History (all within a 10–25 km radius):
· Inowłódz (just outside the city limits): A small town with a historic atmosphere. Be sure to climb up to the Romanesque Church of St. Giles (the view of the Pilica Valley is enchanting) and see the castle of Casimir the Great.
· Spała (10 km): A legendary royal and presidential settlement. Take a photo with the cast-iron European Bison, peek into the Tsar's Tower, and feel the spirit of ancient hunting.
· Bunker in Konewka and Jeleń: A treat for history buffs. Gigantic railway bunkers from World War II make an incredible, austere impression.
Our children love spending time here. The space is vast, allowing them to play and have fun to their heart's content. For the summer, we have a swimming pool, although swimming in the shallow river is also a popular attraction during the season. We have a small playground, volleyball nets, badminton sets, and board games for inclement weather. There's no time for boredom!
If you need to work from our cottages, nothing will stop you. Excellent fiber-optic internet access is available. We don't have dedicated work stations, but you can use your laptop at the dining table, in the armchair in the bedroom, on the sofa in the living room, or on the terrace.
