Did you know that where we now hear the Baltic Sea, a primeval forest once roared? A flooded forest on the beach near Czołpino is a reminder of this, discovered by the sea ten years ago and with no telling when it will reclaim it. The former primeval forests also left behind peat bogs, over which the Slovincians built light, frame-built huts made of reeds and clay. They believed that beneath the dark peat lived a devil who could drag even a horse into the marshes and stir the shifting sands of the nearby dunes. Few daring souls venture into these parts of the Baltic coast, but you don't have to sell your soul to the devil to explore them. In the Smołdziński Forest, we've built a unique thatched cottage, with four apartments with separate entrances. You'll reach it via a forest path, and right from our Czarcia Chata, hiking and cycling paths will lead you to wide, sandy beaches, the shifting sands of the Czołpino Dune, and Lakes Dołgie Małe and Wielkie, where you'll spot birds and kitesurfers. After a long day with sand in your pockets and salt on your skin, you'll relax in our garden among the pine trees and wonder if that's still the roar of the sea, or the forest? Who knows.

A comfortable, two-story apartment in a thatched cottage. Private entrance directly from the property. On the ground floor, there's a living room with a kitchenette and a bathroom. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms: 1) with a double bed and 2) with two single beds.

The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing your own meals. Scrambled eggs were a traditional holiday dish during peat digging in this area, so you can get inspired with a morning breakfast. If you're in the mood for a restaurant, you'll find excellent Italian cuisine nearby, run by a native Italian (Trattoria Riccardo), and delicious fish served in several original ways (Restauracja Stodoła).

When you've had enough of the beach, hop on your bikes. The trails of Słowiński National Park will take you all the way to Rowy. Along the way, you'll smell the pine forest, spot charming coastal lakes teeming with birdlife, climb shifting sand dunes, and experience the pristine nature of the coast. If you happen to long to get back to civilization, you'll easily visit Ustka, Rowy, or Łeba.

For kids, there's endless sand on the beach and in the dunes, plus both challenging and less challenging bike trails. For waffles on the promenade and plastic buckets, head to nearby resorts like Ustka or Łeba. We also recommend shorter trips to the lighthouse in Czołpino and the observation tower in Rowokół.

It's true that telephone coverage is sometimes a nightmare, but fiber optics provides contact with the outside world.
