At a glance
"Heima" means "being at home" in Icelandic. We feel that way in Wełcza, a hamlet of Zawoja at the foot of Jałowiec Mountain. The name Wełcza comes from the wolves that once inhabited this area, and mountain trails lead from here through the Opaczne clearing, where a robber manor supposedly once stood. Now it's a much friendlier area, where we invite you to hike the Żywiec Beskids and weave your own stories connected to the local landscape. We know every corner of it ourselves and will be happy to choose the best trail for the weather and your abilities. We'll also suggest where to eat and what to see.

Hi! This is Milena and Bartek. Together we run a small guesthouse on the outskirts of Wełcza, near Zawoja. The name "HEIMA" (meaning "at home") comes from our second language. We lived in Iceland for many years, and there, on the fringes of the western fjords, Bartek also ran a seasonal house with several guest rooms. This experience shaped the idea for our future life, and after a long, thorough search, it turned into the right place to host guests full-time. We traded our peaceful and stress-free Icelandic life for... a house near Babia Góra, and we absolutely don't regret our decision! We have the perfect guests – they value peace, love the mountains, and are close to nature. We enjoy a quiet chat with them, and if they're interested, we turn it into hours-long conversations over tea and by the fireplace.
