In a hidden valley of waterfalls, timeless architecture, and ancient magic, the land of Rivendell has found refuge… and so has our Tuscan villa, named after the Italian version of the elven world: Gran Burrone. Its history began almost 1,000 years ago beyond the Apuan Alps, in a quiet village of olive farmers, now off the beaten track. Now it's our home, which we share with you during your trips. Here, you'll escape from the world, yet you'll be just an hour from Pisa, Florence, or the sandy beaches of Tuscany.

We invite you within the medieval walls, which we've equipped with contemporary comforts and interesting touches: antique chandeliers made of Venetian Murano glass, Carrara marble countertops, and a large swimming pool overlooking the Serchio Valley. In the tower, which will transport you to a medieval, chivalric atmosphere, we've installed a 100-inch screen – perfect for an Italian cinema marathon. Or perhaps, in addition to the knight, you'll also encounter a bright apparition slinking up the stairs? Those quiet footsteps on the stone path aren't always the neighbor's cat.

Villa Gran Burrone offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms, a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a comfortable workspace for your laptop. A highlight of the house is its medieval tower with a 100-inch screen—perfect for an evening movie. Outside, a large garden and a swimming pool await, overlooking the Serchio Valley.

A fully equipped kitchen is available to guests. Nearby, just 2-3 km from the villa, in Borgo a Mozzano, we recommend two excellent restaurants: Il Pescatore and Osteria i Macelli. The local Penny supermarket is also located in the same village.

The surrounding area is exceptionally rich. Just below the villa lies the Serchio Valley, perfect for hiking and exploring local villages. Nearby, you'll find the famous Devil's Bridge in Borgo a Mozzano, the spa town of Bagni di Lucca, and charming Lucca with its perfectly preserved Renaissance walls. A little further afield awaits Pisa with its famous Leaning Tower, and to the north stretches the wild Garfagnana—mountains, forests, and the almost unknown depths of Tuscany.

Children will have their own kingdom: a large garden to run around in, a swimming pool overlooking the valley, and an integral part of the village – the local cat, who usually drops in for a visit.

We have fast WiFi and good cell phone coverage. Inside the house, there's a comfortable space for working with a laptop, with direct access to the garden.
