Do you know what moonwood is, the wood from which Julius Caesar's ships were built? These trees are cut in winter during the waning moon phase. They are more durable, maintain constant humidity, and regulate the winter temperature. We rebuilt our 1910 cottage using this very material, beams from the original structure, and oak. This has created a unique microclimate in this jewel of carpentry craftsmanship, which you can enjoy by the fireplace or on the mezzanine overlooking the trees. We've complemented it with other plant materials, such as linen and cotton, so as not to disturb this natural harmony.
We encourage you to spend your peaceful family celebrations or holidays here. However, you'll want to set aside more time, because you probably won't be able to stay indoors – the Słonne Mountains area beckons you to the mountains, skiing, rafting, Solina, and Sanok. After a day on snowy slopes and mountain trails, our warm interiors will ensure your rest and regeneration. Listen to the stories told in these tree rings, which are over a century old.
A wooden house from 1910, saved and rebuilt for the comfort of guests. On the lower level, there's a large living room with a fireplace and kitchenette. On this same level, there are also two bedrooms (one with a single 120 cm bed and one with a 160 cm bed) and a bathroom with a shower. On the upper level, there's a glass-enclosed mezzanine with a view, a seating area, and a bookcase. The upper level also features two bedrooms (one with a 90 cm bed and one with two 90 cm beds and one 160 cm bed) and a bathroom with a shower. The house was rebuilt to maximize natural light and provide views of the surrounding greenery from every window. This is thanks to local carpenters and craftsmen. The mezzanine was constructed entirely of fine oak. The bedrooms feature wooden floors. A new fire station is being built next to the cottage – this doesn't interfere with relaxation, and we think it could be a future attraction for our young guests. The cottage isn't very close to the house, so no one peeks in the windows. The road it's on is a dead-end, and only residents drive here. The bird concerts are a highlight. There are many walking trails in the area. A village playing field with goals is also close to the cottage.
We don't serve meals, but we do offer a fully equipped kitchen and a large table for dining. For those interested, we can prepare a basket with regional products (eggs, cheese, proziaki) for a fee; just let us know.
If you're here to celebrate a birthday or have a sweet tooth, we recommend visiting the Słodki Domek (Sweet House) in Lesko. You'll enjoy delicious food at the Chata Starych Przyjomych (fuczki, proziaki, and other regional dishes). If you prefer a more elegant atmosphere, Stary Kredens (Old Credenza) is a perfect choice. Or perhaps you happen to stumble upon the glider in Bezmiechowa Górna? Be sure to check out the Kamionka Restaurant. There's a restaurant with very reasonable prices right next to the Tyrolean line in Wańkowa, which we highly recommend.

The heart of Słonna Chatka has been beating since 1910. During the renovation, our priority was to preserve what was most precious – every beam that could be reinstalled was restored, carrying with it over a century of history. We believe that it is precisely this ancient wood that gives the interior a warmth that cannot be replicated. The cottage is nestled in the buffer zone of the Słonne Mountains, near less frequented yet charming trails, making it an ideal base for those seeking contact with nature in its purest form. Słonna Chatka is a true gateway to the Bieszczady Mountains. Although secluded, it is an excellent starting point for discovering the region's charms year-round.
In winter, our guests can enjoy skiing in Wańkowa (we have ski racks), which also boasts Poland's longest year-round zip line (available in summer).
In summer, the area bustles with numerous attractions. Water lovers will find solace in the Solina Reservoir, while active recreation enthusiasts can take advantage of the unique Bieszczady Bicycle Trolleys. For those seeking cultural experiences, nearby Sanok offers a visit to the Museum of Folk Architecture and an encounter with the work of Zdzisław Beksiński. In autumn, the nearby forests invite you to pick mushrooms, blackberries, and wild strawberries. Nearby, you'll find the unique flavors of ancient Galicia: proziaki, fuczki, and pierogi stuffed with groats and mint. Regardless of the season, after a day full of excitement, Słonna Chatka is always waiting to envelop you in its tranquility and homely warmth.
Traverse the famous serpentines of the Słonne Mountains – the most winding road in Poland. Słonna Chatka lies in a unique location – where the hustle and bustle ends and the true, wild nature of the Słonne Mountains begins. This mountain range remains undiscovered, offering a tranquility unlike any other in the Carpathians. If you're planning a walk or trek, we have good news: the trails here are rarely used, allowing you to be alone with nature. These are mountains for connoisseurs – low, yet steep in places, and surprisingly rugged.
Słonny Peak (668 m above sea level): The highest point of the range, accessible via the red trail.
Orli Kamień: The best-maintained yellow trail in the area. It leads to picturesque rock outcrops – an ideal place for a relaxing walk.
Granicka Ridge: For thrill-seekers – an exceptionally distinct, narrow ridge with steep slopes, reminiscent of the summits of much higher mountains.
Geological Treasures: Contrary to appearances, our mountains hide rock formations (Duży and Mały Kamień) as well as deep, wild ravines and gorges carved by streams.
History Embedded in the Landscape: While walking, you can encounter Molotov Line bunkers, historic strongholds, and traces of ancient Dolinian architecture.

Where does the name come from? Our forests are filled with streams of natural brine – this is where the Słonne Mountains get their name.

This is probably the most famous confectionery shop in the region. They are known for their wide selection of cakes and ice cream.

5. Bicycle Trolleys (Uherce Mineralne)
Attractions: Pedaling a huge trolley on its own along the railway tracks. It's an adventure children will remember for years to come.

Attractions: A peaceful, safe rafting trip on the San River. Very relaxing for the whole family.
7. Eagle Rocks (Orli Kamień)
Attractions: A short forest hike (approx. 30-40 minutes walk), ending with climbing large boulders. A natural playground in the middle of the forest.
