Hint: it's particularly fond of Polesie, where you can spy it and be inspired by its longevity tricks. Yes, it's the European pond turtle, a rare and protected species primarily inhabiting the Polesie National Park.

You'll meet these extraordinary animals (and many others, such as moose, beavers, and white-tailed eagles) while hiking the educational trails surrounding our cottages. Some of the trails are even suitable for a child in a stroller and a dog on a leash, making it a wonderful way to spend family time in nature. It's best to start by visiting the PPN Educational and Museum Center in our village, where you'll find inspiration and buy tickets. Also, pack some mosquito repellent, as the area is full of lakes, marshes, and peat bogs, which support a diverse range of fauna and flora. After a walk, bike ride, or horseback ride, comfortable beds and large terraces await you in our cottages. Here, you can relax amidst the birdsong and soak in the open-air hot tub.

Each of our Poleskie Stodół cottages is a modern, two-story house with two bedrooms, a living room with a kitchen and fireplace, and two bathrooms.

LAKES

The Łęczna-Włodawa Lake District is famous for its clean lakes, sandy beaches, and beautiful landscapes. It's an ideal place for swimming, fishing, water sports, or a peaceful relaxation by the water.

NATURE TRAILS

Polesie is a unique region of marshes, peat bogs, and wildlife. Numerous nature trails allow you to discover its most beautiful corners, often leading over footbridges over the wetlands and through forests teeming with rare plant and animal species.

Spławy Nature Trail
A picturesque trail leading through peat bogs, wet meadows, and marshy forests to Lake Łukie, which features a floating viewing platform.

Dominik Oak Nature Trail
A popular trail named after a natural monument – an over 300-year-old oak tree. It leads through pine forests and peat bogs to Lake Moszne, where you can see floating, green islands.

Perehod Nature Trail
This birdwatching trail follows causeways along the picturesque Pieszowolski Ponds. The water attracts countless waterfowl, which can be observed from two observation towers.

Insurgent Camp Nature and History Trail
Begins in the village of Lipniak, where the January Uprising camp was located. The trail leads along a forest road to an observation tower, then along wooden footbridges along meadows and forests. A beaver lodge is located near the footbridge.

Czahary Educational Trail
Leads through the Bubnów Swamp. The route features observation towers and platforms, as well as tourist shelters. A highlight is the floodplain in Zastawie – a gathering place for cranes before their flight.

Mietiułka Educational Trail
This 21-kilometer trail, perfect for cycling, leads through various ecosystems. It includes some of the oldest forests in Polesie Park – a wolf habitat – and the Durne Bagno observation tower.

A unique place dedicated to the protection of one of the rarest reptile species in Poland. Here, you can learn more about the life and conservation of the pond turtle.

Open-air museum in Holi
An open-air museum showcasing the traditional architecture and culture of Polesie. Wooden cottages, an Orthodox church and old furnishings bring you back to the atmosphere of the region's old villages.
