Farm life is sweet. Like blueberries, like honey, and like a cat's face peeking out from behind a bush. It's also busy, because growing your own food is a constant endeavor. You know this well if you spent your summers at your grandmother's in the countryside and helped with the harvest. But maybe your kids haven't had that opportunity? If you've ever thought about showing them what farm life is like, come to the Polesie village of Kudry. I'll invite them and you to join me in baking bread, making pierogi with my own groats, and showing them where honey comes from. I'll also show anyone curious about the garden beds and tell them about the plants. And these are just some of the ideas for joint workshops in the Magic Valley, because I never run out of them. We can make jams together, make a herbal garden, or sew a pillow filled with buckwheat and lavender. Did I mention weaving wreaths? Working with your own hands brings joy, calms you, and teaches you patience. And after acquiring new skills, you can still go for a walk in the fields, take a trip to Polesie National Park, and spend an evening in the jacuzzi. Come to Polesie, where creativity thrives in the flowerbeds.
Magiczna Dolina is a small farm located in the Parczew County, Jabłoń Commune, in the Lublin region. On the grounds, you'll find a charming wooden house with two bedrooms, a living room with a sleeping area, a bathroom with a shower, and a fully equipped kitchen, where you can prepare healthy meals using our products.
The house is open year-round. A relaxation area with a wood-burning jacuzzi awaits you in the garden. Additionally, you'll find a terrace, loungers, a fireplace, and a fireplace.
You can either cook your own meals (the kitchen is well-equipped, and I recommend ingredients from our farm) or order a homemade breakfast or lunch from me. I cook seasonally, at home, and partly from my own produce. You'll eat just like at Mom's: pierogi with groats and cheese, pierogi ruskie (Russian dumplings), potato pancakes, groats and sauces, ground beef, or pork chops.
And if you've never made pierogi before or want to show your kids how much fun they are, I invite you to a pierogi-making workshop.
Come and see what farm life is like in the Polesie countryside – but without sacrificing comfort and pleasure. A cozy cottage awaits you, perfect for a couple looking to escape the city, stroll through the fields and forests, and relax in the jacuzzi. It's also the perfect place for a family. The Magical Farm is a place where your kids won't be bored: here, they'll see what farm work is like, how food is produced, and they can unleash their creativity. We're talking about your inner children ;) Feel like you're back in art class at the local community center and relax with one of the many workshops I can lead for you.
Examples of workshops:
– making pierogi with our groats and cheese,
– weaving Christmas or autumn wreaths for doors,
– making lavender salt,
– making soy wax candles.
And how can you have a great time in the area? Here are a few ideas:
– Visit Jabłoń, about 3 km from Kudry. Here you'll find the neo-Gothic Zamoyski Palace, a former residence from the early 20th century, and the remains of an extensive palace and park complex.
– Take a walk around Parczew and look for traces of the former royal town. It's a good destination for leisurely sightseeing, local history, and a stop for coffee while shopping or having lunch.
– Take a walk among the peat bogs by Lake Obradowskie. An approximately 800-meter-long wooden footbridge leads through the marshy area towards the lake. It's a short nature trip, perfect for a few hours out of the house.
– Hop on your bikes and take the local roads through the fields and villages of the Jabłoń commune. You can visit Paszenki and Jabłoń, admiring the traditional architecture of the Lublin countryside and the vast agricultural landscapes along the way. If you're looking for a slightly longer walk in the forest, check out the Królowa Droga reserve near Makoszka. It protects a section of natural forest with ancient oaks; it's a great option for those who prefer forest paths and spotting monumental trees to popular attractions.
Walk the Dąb Dominik trail in Polesie National Park. Wooden footbridges lead through the marshy forests to the area surrounding the overgrowing Lake Moszne. Choose from a shorter route (2.5 km) or a longer one (3.5 km).
Take a walk through Czahary, a walk through the Bubnów Swamp. Along the way, you'll find peat bogs, vast meadows, and viewing platforms from which you can spot cranes, moose, and rare birds. The route is approximately 6.5 km long.
Take your binoculars and visit the Perehod trail in Pieszowola. The five-kilometer trail runs along ponds, where you can observe herons, cormorants, and other waterfowl. Observation towers and an ornithological shelter await along the route.
– Head to Włodawa, a city of three cultures. Explore the historic center, see traces of the city's multicultural past, and plan a walk around the area. It's a great way to spice up your nature trip with a bit of local history.
I invite the kids to various creative workshops (e.g., one celebrating Potato Day!). There are also board games and books for the kids to enjoy at the playhouse.
