At a glance

Enchanted. Like many, we fell in love with Italy. But common sense clearly decided against that vacation, because just two months later, under circumstances we don't quite remember now, we became owners of CasaSulMuro. Our family acquired a 500-year-old stone house in the somewhat sleepy, medieval borgo of Pescaglia. Since then, we've devoted every free moment to designing, visiting antique shops, and spending hours chatting with Italian craftsmen. We've also dedicated our time restoring fixtures and furniture, determined to preserve everything authentic about the house: the terracotta floors, the massive chestnut beams, the staircase carved out by centuries of age, the centuries-old, still-functioning forno, and even the antique terracotta "washing machine." We feel like we're just guests in this place's history. We don't want to force it—we want to write our own chapter.

Casa SulMuro is probably the oldest house in the village. It stands on the former defensive wall and partly within it. According to legend, it was the residence of the captain of the castle garrison. For a former defensive fortress, the house is a veritable labyrinth. However, instead of medieval cells, you'll find four comfortable bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large living room with a fireplace. At the end, beyond the wall, a surprise awaits you. A completely private garden with a swimming pool, veranda, and panoramic views of the slopes of Monte Piglione. Words can't describe this view in person. So we'll be blunt: come. Not like you're visiting a luxury hotel, but like you're visiting good friends. Come to enjoy life, savor Italian architecture, and savor the delicacies of Tuscan cuisine. Come if you love art, history, mountains, and the sea. Dolce Far Niente has never been so inspiring.

We are not on-site, but friendly help will look after you

I work as an interior designer, and Zbyszek, a passionate enthusiast of classic cars and vintage motorcycles, can talk endlessly about engines. He's just as keen on architecture, design, and art as I am. We both love traveling, beautiful landscapes, places with soul, and everything authentic. We appreciate long conversations late into the night, meetings with friends, spontaneous trips without a specific plan, good food, good movies, and books that are hard to put down. We enjoy visiting elegant galleries as much as we do antique shops and warehouses for forgotten and orphaned items. We believe that objects, like homes, deserve a second chance. Therefore, during the renovation of Casa sul Muro, our goal wasn't to create another perfect interior, but to preserve its history. We saved everything we could. We restored most of the original furniture ourselves, restored the old architectural elements to their former glory, and almost nothing ended up in the trash. We love people and animals. We value authenticity over perfection. We believe that the best memories are created at a shared table, during long conversations, and in places steeped in history. We hope that during your stay at CasaSu Muro, you'll feel not like you're staying in a rented house, but with good friends who've given you the keys to their favorite place for a few days.
