When the Teutonic Knights inhabited the Lower Vistula Valley, castles sprang up on both banks of the river. They stood close enough together that a mounted messenger could cover the distance between them in a single day. If danger approached, fires were lit in the castle tower, and warning signals quickly traveled the route between Gdańsk and Toruń. After the fall of the Teutonic Order, the Olęders (Olęders) settled here and brought order to the war-ravaged, marshy lands. They planted orchards, fertilized the soil, and built windmills. To this day, you can travel from castle to castle along the Vistula River or seek out local flavors like ripening cheeses or jam made from the oldest plum varieties.

We, too, live within commemorative brick walls, striving to take advantage of everything this picturesque and still undiscovered area has to offer. We love it when things are happening at home and the soothing nature embraces us beyond our doorstep. Tomek used to cook in restaurants in Gdynia, but today he brings his culinary ideas to life in our kitchen, using the produce from our vegetable patch and garden. Life in the countryside tastes different, especially over breakfast in a centuries-old garden full of secrets.

The house has four rooms: two double rooms and two family rooms, each accommodating two adults and two children. Each room has its own bathroom. The rooms are located on the first floor, and are accompanied by a guest-only living room with comfortable sofas and armchairs. On the ground floor, we have a kitchen and dining room, where we serve breakfast and dinner. The house sits on almost a hectare of land, complete with a conservatory, orchard, and relaxation area.

We serve breakfast included in the price of your stay. Breakfast is buffet style, with a hot selection available. Examples include Turkish eggs, rosti with tomato jam, corn pancakes, and an omelet with seasonal vegetables. We also prepare dinners (by prior arrangement, for an additional fee; children receive a discount). We strive to be innovative, using local and seasonal ingredients. For example, cauliflower steak with polenta, pickled onions, and mustard-onion sauce, or for meat lovers, roasted pork neck, or Silesian dumplings in pumpkin sauce with roasted broccoli and plum chutney or caramelized bacon.

We want you to relax here and eat well. And if you're feeling up to it, you can go hiking along the Vistula River, traverse endless fields and meadows. You can get on a bike for recreation, or you can work up a sweat. You can go fishing, if that's your passion. You can birdwatch. And if you're thinking of sightseeing, beautiful cities and towns are just a stone's throw away. Grudziądz, Chełmno, Toruń, Gniew, and Malbork.

For children, we have trees to climb, endless puddles, fields, and meadows to run through. They can pet the neighbor's horses and play with ducks in the Vistula River.
