At a glance
Gradoczno is over 350 years old, and our cottage is over 100. We named it Hradunka, inspired by the former name of the village, once called Hradoczna. And even if you haven't heard of it before, you probably have. Nowhere else in Poland are there houses like those in our region. This is because of their history: their ornaments evoke Russian folk architecture, and the area has been linked to the Belarusian population and Orthodox Christianity for centuries. All this adds a touch of magic to the cottages here. Old masters of regional woodcarving created the sinuous patterns you can admire on many wooden houses in the area. However, we hope that our cottage will enchant you not only with the intricate swirls on the wooden facade.
The open shutters and open doors reveal interiors that we have poured a lot of love into. Because while we agree that the historic Podlasie cottages have an undeniable charm, we also wanted it to be delightfully comfortable. There are three cozy bedrooms, ensuring a blissful night's sleep, two modern bathrooms, and a comfortable living room for evenings spent together. The well-kept garden encourages spending time outdoors, and this is just a foretaste of everything that awaits you. The endless meadows of the Emerald Floodplains, dense forests, and the Narew River winding through Podlasie will invite you to discover Poland's most mysterious region. But remember to take the path to the house with open shutters, which will welcome you with warmth, comfort, and inspiration.
