Away from the centre of the Vistula River, the promenade, soap and jam, colourful stalls. Away from the main road and even a bit from the side road. Somewhere near the forest, on the slope of Mount Kiczera, next to the stream and a stone's throw from the ski lift, there are two architectural wonders with beds which look out onto the world.
Houses composed of dishevelled drawers, but instead of cutlery, they have two and four-person apartments with suspended bedrooms. Each has its own glass plasma screen with a 24/7 nature program. It makes the greatest impression in the morning when the landscape is wrapped in a blanket of fog, slightly rising with the morning sun. In the evening, in warm bedding, you can observe constellations and deer munching on raspberries off the bush. In the summer, the scent of lavender hovers over Szuflandia and magically puts you to sleep with the chirping crickets. Kids don't have to get up early, but they still do it to run to the pool as fast as they can. Moms and Dads want to laze blissfully on the terrace and sometimes they succeed. In the winter, they jump into ski boots and hit the slopes, and then warm up in the sauna. Then it's time for board games, books and zero worries. There is also no TV and this is a positive thing. Szuflandia is just conducive to being together, not just next to each other.
In a place where you have to remember about winter tires and sunscreen in summer. The drawers are made entirely of wood. We also arranged the interiors organically. It is simple, raw and atmospheric. After all, it makes no sense to correct a miracle of nature. Upon entering the apartment, you will surely notice that it is lined with birch plywood. Kitchen furniture and tables were designed by Joanna Brandys from the BrandysDesign studio. Internal lamps, hand-woven, were made by me, while external lamps by my husband - such golden hands and DIY enthusiasts. The most important place in the rooms - the suspended bed - makes such an impression that it's best to get into it right away and make an introduction to relaxation. Through the huge window you can see the forest, and when the sun goes down, you can watch the stars lying down.
Families are welcome to three 4-person FUN apartments with two bedrooms in drawers with double beds (160cm200cm) and a kitchenette, bathroom, air conditioning and a spacious terrace. Bedrooms with windows to the world and large glass walls allow you to admire the mountain landscapes virtually without interruption. A small extra bed for one person is also possible. We recommend them especially to families with children. The 2 + 2 or 2 + 3 layout is ideal in this configuration.
For intimate excursions for two, we recommend JOY 2-person apartments with one bedroom (in a drawer), air conditioning, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Some apartments have terraces and others have direct access to the garden. There are 5 of them and the most comfortable for 2 adults and a small child up to 6 years old sleeping with their parents on the bed. In this type of apartment it is not possible to set up a cot or an extra bed.
In the bathrooms you will find hand soap and of course a set of towels. The rooms are sparkling clean, because in Szuflandia change of shoes is obligatory. So take slippers, slippers or warm socks with you, because we do not wear shoes in the apartments (guests are asked not to enter the rooms in shoes, which we like very much). There is also air conditioning and wireless Internet.
Outside, there is a heated swimming pool (open seasonally), saunas (wet and dry), a fireplace, barbecue, playground, playground and lots of greenery. Szuflandia is adjacent to the ski lift, just put on your skis and you are on the slope.
There is also a public ski room at your disposal.
Cozy, intimate apartments with a fully equipped kitchen. There is a fridge, hob, sink. We also provide a set of plates, cutlery and everything necessary to prepare a meal. In the kitchen you will find a kettle and tea, caviar and coffee, of course.
We have a fiery barbecue area and a fireplace for you. The nearest store is about 300 meters away.
It often happens that resting and cooking do not go hand in hand. Maybe it's time to take a break from preparing meals and visit local restaurants. We recommend you the ones that have been checked by us.
- Karczma u Karol - highlander food, always tasty and at an affordable price.
- U Fojta - homemade food with delivery, very close to Szuflandia. Tasty, oh very much and at a good price.
- Malinówka - restaurant after the revolution M. Gessler. Regional food in new versions. Tasty, though a bit pricey.
- Koliba Czarcie Kopyto (Ustroń, Równica 23) - a charming restaurant, consisting of an "economic" and "exclusive" part. It is worth visiting, even for purely tourist reasons.
- Lunch at the PTTK shelter in Skrzyczne, because nothing tastes like the soup served in the shelter. Dumplings with fruit can be used in the soup.
For a bit of sweets, it is worth visiting:
- Confectionery "U Janeczki" - we recommend literally everything: cakes, ice cream, coffee.
- Confectionery "Na Blejchu" (Ustroń, Daszyńskiego 7).
- Wislański cakes - you can buy these traditional sweets almost everywhere.
It's best to do nothing in Szuflandia, it's the whole truth about us. Most of our guests just come to get bored. Even children like this unhurried time spent skiing, sledding, swimming or hiking in the mountains. Busy parents come to sleep - on condition the kids stay with their grandparents. Once they make up for the lack of sleep (surprisingly, one day of blissful sleep and laziness is enough), lie on a deckchair, drink coffee, then go out for dinner and laziness again. The two days of "buzzing" pass extremely fast, but the recovery is 100%. This is ensured by the omnipresent silence and greenery around. Sure, you can grill, focus, swim in the pool in the summer, but these are just additions. First and foremost, come to us to be bored.
There is also a swimming pool in Szuflandia, which in itself is a real attraction. After all, on a hot day, nothing else is needed to be happy. You can warm up in a wet and dry sauna all year round.
The important information is that we do not have televisions and so far no one is complaining about this lack. Instead of information from the world and colorful soap operas, there are books and board games. The items are different and different. For children, parents, body and soul - for everyone.
There are many hiking routes in the vicinity of Szuflandia, including to the Blue Pass, Wielka Czantoria and Soszów. You don't even need to get in the car to hit the road, because you live right on the trail.
Be sure to go to Barania Góra (1220 m above sea level) from where the queen of our rivers, the Vistula, comes from. Personally, we recommend the trail starting in: Wisła Czarne Fojtula - we like it the most. Remember that the weather in the mountains is very changeable. It is worth being prepared for almost everything (wind, rain, sun). One more valuable note: the color of the route does not indicate its difficulty.
In winter, winter sports enthusiasts have the ski slope right under their noses. The Kiczera lift is located right next to the Szuflandia apartments. It is a 4-seat sofa, launched in December 2016. The ski runs are 1000 meters and 800 meters long. The entry to the ski slope is directly from Szuflandia.
Another winter sports base - Soszów and Skolnity ski stations.
We also recommend routes on Nowa Osada, Cieńków and Stożek. Visiting Wisła cannot do without seeing Adam Małysz's ski jump and his museum with a crazy amount of awards.
There are many places of interest in Wisła. We focused mainly on those that make the greatest impression on us and our children.
- Cascades of Rodła. A beautiful route along the charming waterfalls located on the Biała Vistula River. We especially recommend a longer walk (the route runs to Barania).
- Railway viaduct in Łabajów. Considering its height (25 m), length (120 m) and the time of its creation (1931-1933) and its charming location, there is nothing else but to see it.
- The Beskidzkie Museum and the Castle of the President of the Republic of Poland are also worth recommending.
What’s there for children?
Children feel divinely carefree in Szuflandia and there are reasons for that. In summer, they jump on a bomb into the pool and inflate huge swimming wheels, play in the playground, swing to the sky and explore forest trails. In the morning and at dusk, it is worth setting up a quiet zone and watching. We are most often visited by deer, hares and pheasants. Sometimes a dignified deer will also come by to nibble on raspberries.
If you would like to meet a wider group of forest creatures, visit the Forest Park of Surprises in Ustroń. There are deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar and many others at your fingertips.
You can also go to Dream Park Ochaby (approx. 20 km). There you will meet the "ancestors" of deer and wild boars. It's a family-run theme park, with a miniature park, a dinosaur park, and lots to do for the whole family. It is worth planning one day to go there.
In winter time for sledding, skiing, snowboarding and a snowball fight. Red cheeks, cold noses and wet gloves are just a side effect of the fun!
What’s there for employees?
In each cozy and compact drawer you will find a large table for six people. For those interested in remote work, we have a proposal, we can replace the chairs with more comfortable ones, for long sittings at the laptop. In such natural circumstances, we recommend working from the bed or from the shed outside. We also have internet there. We do not accept organized groups, and families with children will not hinder your work too much, so to sum up, we can ensure silence.
