Away from the center of Wisła, the promenade, soap and jam of colorful stalls. Hen from the main road and even a bit from the side road. Somewhere near the forest, on the slope of Mount Kiczera, next to the stream and a stone's throw from the ski lift, there are two architectural wonders with beds to the world.
Cottages composed of disarrayed drawers, and in them, instead of cutlery, two and four-person apartments with suspended bedrooms. Each has its own glass plasma screen with a 24-hour nature programme. It makes the greatest impression in the morning, when the landscape is enveloped in a blanket of fog, slightly rising with the rising sun. In the evening, in warm bedding, you can watch the constellations and deer sneaking for raspberries. In the summer, the smell of lavender floats over Szuflandia and, together with chirping crickets, magically puts you to sleep. Kids don't have to get up early, but they do anyway to run as fast as they can to the pool. Mums and Dads want to blissfully laze on the terrace and sometimes they succeed. In winter, go to the slope in the morning in ski boots to warm up the atmosphere in the sauna later. Then it's time for board games, books and no worries. There is also no TV, which is a plus. Szuflandia is simply conducive to being together, not next to each other.
In a place where you need to remember about winter tires and sunscreen in summer. The drawers are made entirely of wood. We also arranged the interior organically. It is simple, raw and atmospheric. After all, there's no point in improving a miracle of nature. Upon entering the apartment, you will surely notice that it is lined with birch plywood. Kitchen furniture and tables were designed by Joanna Brandys from the BrandysDesign studio. The internal lamps, hand-woven, were made by me, while the external lamps were made by my husband - we are such handymen and do-it-yourselfers. The most important place in the rooms - the suspended bed, makes such an impression that it's best to get into it right away and make an introduction to rest. Through the huge window you can see the forest, and when the sun goes down you can watch the stars lying down.
Families are invited to three 4-person FUN apartments with two bedrooms in drawers with double beds (160cm200cm) and a kitchenette, bathroom, air conditioning and a spacious terrace. Bedrooms with windows to the world and large glass walls allow you to admire the mountain landscapes practically without interruption. A small extra bed for one person is also possible. We recommend them especially to families with children. The 2+2 or 2+3 arrangement is ideal in this configuration.
In the bathrooms you will find hand soap and, of course, a set of towels. The rooms are sparkling clean, because there is a change of shoes in Szuflandia. So take slippers, slippers or slippers with you, or warm socks, because we do not wear shoes around the apartments (guests are asked not to enter the rooms in shoes, which we really like). There is also air conditioning and wireless Internet.
Outside, there is a heated swimming pool (open seasonally), saunas (wet and dry), a place for a bonfire, a barbecue, a playground for children, a playground and lots of greenery. Szuflandia is directly adjacent to the ski lift, just put on your skis and you are on the slope.
There is also a public ski room at your disposal.
Intimate, intimate apartments with a fully equipped kitchen. There is a fridge, hob, sink. We also offer a set of plates, cutlery and everything necessary to prepare a meal. In the kitchen you will find a kettle and tea, coffee maker and coffee, of course, too.
We have a fiery place for a barbecue and a fireplace for you. The nearest shop is about 300 meters away.
It often happens that rest and cooking do not go hand in hand. Maybe it's time to take a break from preparing meals and visit the surrounding restaurants. We recommend you those tested by us.
- Karczma u Karola - highland food, always tasty and at an affordable price.
- U Fojta - homemade food with delivery, very close to Szuflandia. Tasty, oh very good and at a good price.
- Malinówka - a restaurant after the M. Gessler revolution. Regional food in new versions. Tasty, although a bit pricey.
- Koliba Czarcie Kopyto (Ustroń, Równica 23) - a charming restaurant, consisting of an "economic" and "exclusive" section. It is worth visiting, even for purely tourist reasons.
- Lunch at the PTTK Hostel in Skrzyczne, because nothing tastes as good as the soup served at the shelter. Dumplings with fruit can be added to the soup.
For a bit of sweetness, visit:
- Confectionery "U Janeczki" - we recommend literally everything: cakes, ice cream, coffee.
- Confectionery "Na Blejchu" (Ustroń, Daszyńskiego 7).
- Wiślańskie Kołacze - you can buy these traditional sweets almost everywhere.
It's best to do nothing in Szuflandia, that's the whole truth about us. Most of our guests come just to be bored. Even children like this unhurried time spent skiing, sledding, swimming or mountain walks. Busy parents come and get some sleep - the condition is that the kids stay with their grandparents. Once they make up for the lack of sleep (surprisingly, one day of blissful sleep and laziness is enough), they lie on a deckchair, sip coffee, then go out for dinner and again laziness. Two days of "bull" fly by extremely quickly, but the recovery is 100%. This is ensured by the ubiquitous silence and greenery around. Sure, you can also grill, focus, swim in the pool in the summer, but these are only extras. First and foremost, when you come to us, be prepared for wonderful boredom.
There is also a swimming pool in Szuflandia, which is a great attraction in itself. After all, on a hot day, nothing else is needed to be happy. You can warm up in the wet and dry sauna all year round.
The important information is that we do not have televisions and so far no one complains about this lack. Instead of information from the world and colorful soap operas, there are books and board games. The items are different and different. For children, parents, for spirit and body - for everyone.
There are many hiking trails in the Szuflandia area, e.g. to the Błękitek Pass, Wielka Czantoria or Soszów. You don't even have to get in the car to go on the road, because you live right next to the trail.
Be sure to go to Barania Góra (1220 m above sea level), where the queen of our rivers, the Vistula, originates. Personally, we recommend the trail starting in: Wisła Czarne Fojtula - we like it the most. Remember that the weather in the mountains is very changeable. It is worth preparing for almost everything (wind, rain, sun). One more valuable note: the color of the route does not indicate its difficulty.
In winter, lovers of white madness have a ski slope right under their noses. The Kiczera lift is located right next to the Szuflandia Apartments. It is a 4 seater sofa, launched in December 2016. The ski slopes are 1000 meters long and 800 meters long. The entry to the ski run is directly from Szuflandia.
Another winter sports base - the Soszów and Skolnity ski stations.
We also recommend routes in Nowa Osada, Cieńków and Stożek. A visit to Wisła cannot do without seeing the Adam Małysz ski jump and his museum with a crazy number of awards.
There are many places worth seeing in Wisła. We focused mainly on those that impress us and our children the most.
- Rodło Cascades. A beautiful route along the charming waterfalls located on Biała Wisełka. We especially recommend a longer walk (the route runs to Barania).
- Railway viaduct in Łabajów. Considering its height (25 m), length (120 m) and the time it was built (1931-1933) as well as its charming location, there is nothing else but to see it.
- Also worth recommending are: the Beskid Museum, the Castle of the President of the Republic of Poland.
What’s there for children?
Children feel divinely carefree in Szuflandia and there are reasons for this. In the summer, they bomb into the pool and inflate huge swimming rings, play in the playground, swing to the sky and explore forest trails. In the morning and at dusk, it is worth to arrange a quiet zone and observe. Roe deer, hares and pheasants visit us most often. It happens that a dignified deer will also drop by to gnaw raspberries.
If you feel like meeting with a wider group of forest creatures, visit the Leśny Park Niespodzianek in Ustroń. There are deer, fallow deer, roe deer, wild boar and many more at your fingertips.
You can also go to Dream Park Ochaby (approx. 20 km). There you will meet the "ancestors" of deer or wild boars. This is a family amusement park, with a miniature park, a dinosaur park and lots of attractions for the whole family. It is worth planning one day to go there.
In winter, it's time for sledding, skiing, snowboarding and snowball fights. Red cheeks, cold noses and wet gloves are just a side effect of the fun!
