There comes a time in life when we want something more than just a constant pursuit of money, never-ending tasks and challenges to overcome. When we want to feel that we live in harmony with the world around us.
There is a saying: "It’s all in your head", thoughts and emotions, but most importantly, desires ... For a long time, we wanted to create a place where we will feel close to the world around us. Where rushing and everyday life will be behind us ... At least for a moment.
For a long time, we were looking for a place where nature is still untouched by civilisation. And we did it. We are in the Śnieżnik Landscape Park and at the junction of two NATURA 2000 areas. That is, places protected by law against civilisation.
Location is one thing. The second is to create a home that will harmonise with the wonderful surroundings. What was beyond doubt was the architectural style. From the beginning, we knew that it was supposed to be a Sudeten house. That is why for months we drove around the Kłodzko Valley and embodied the style and building elements typical of this area. And here it is! Our guests still can't believe it's a new home.
We invite you to a house on the edge of the village, with only mountains and forest as the backdrop. Through the window of the room, with a little luck, you can watch the deer rut, and on the other side of the forest, you can hear the murmur of a crystal clear mountain stream. Watch the sunsets over the mountains from the glass veranda. Go hiking in the beech forest – different at every time of the year. Our house stands at the foot of the forest which grows on the Suchoń mountain. You can also sit on the grass in the garden, dip your toes in the stream, make a fire. And at night, look up at the glorious starry sky…
In a small (7-room) guesthouse, under the windows of which a stream flows, and in the meadow behind the bridge deer graze in the morning. Without moving your car, you can go on singletrack, mountain hikes or cross-country trails (we know the best ones!). In the place where the house currently stands, there was an old 19th-century barn, unfortunately - in a deplorable condition. So we had to dismantle it, piece by piece, carefully so as not to damage what was valuable and worth reusing. We used the recovered bricks and beams during construction.
On the ground floor of the Ash House, we placed a kitchen available to all guests, a dining room and a beautiful, glassed-in veranda with a view of the sunsets. The rooms are located on the first floor and in the attic. All have their own bathrooms, reading chairs, small tables and access to common areas (including the sauna downstairs).
On the lowest floor, there is a gym with an oak parquet floor, perfectly adapted for yoga, dance workshops or other activities that require space. We only make the room available to groups.
As for animals, during the construction of the Ash House, a cat appeared at our place and immediately recognized this place as hers. Unfortunately, because of her, we cannot accept your furry friends, the Boss is adamant about this :)
We give you a free hand and a fully equipped kitchen just for you. There is plenty of space, so even without elbowing each other, two groups can calmly prepare food. In the kitchen you will find a stove, fridge, kettle, oven, toaster and other necessary equipment for making meals. There is even a dishwasher, so the eternal problem of "Who does the washing up?" has already been solved from the top. In the garden, there is a place for a bonfire and a barbecue, if you fancy some roasted sausages.
And those who like to get up in the morning "ready", after prior arrangement, can order breakfasts from us, for which we use regional products (including cheeses from a friendly farm). On the table you will find bread, eggs, vegetables, preserves, homemade pastes and something warm.
We have a few nice places for lunch or dinner in the area. We most often visit Edzia i Mars z Zakrętu in Bystrzyca Kłodzka (great Asian cuisine, street food), but we can also recommend the trout fryery u Jędruś (300 m from us), the Puchaczówka tavern (6.5 km) or the bakery and ice cream u Urbaniak (11 km).
Our house is located in Idzikowo - a small town in the Śnieżnicki Landscape Park and Natura 2000 area. A stream flows nearby, beech forests rustle, and deer roar in autumn. We are an active family - we run, cycle, and practice yoga. Thanks to this, we know and personally check all the possibilities for active recreation in our area.
- Ask Piotrek, who lives in Dom Jesionów permanently, about the best running, cycling and hiking routes; he knows routes unknown to others and this is not just an idle boast :)
- There are singletrack trails nearby (including the Międzygórze blue loops), and you can easily rent bikes in the area (enduro, electric and others)
- You can join Kasia's yoga classes all year round (studio Przez Chwilę); addresses and hours change, so if you feel like jogging, check this out: https://www.instagram.com/przez_chwile/
- the same Kasia runs western-style horse riding classes in Wilkanów;
- it's worth going skiing at least once in the winter; the Czarna Góra resort is the closest to us (6 km); you can find excellent cross-country skiing trails in Bielice or around Jagodna
More cultural and cognitive activities are also possible:
- visiting numerous monuments of the Kłodzko Valley, such as the medieval town of Bystrzyca Kłodzka or the Kłodzka Fortress,
- using nearby health resorts in Lądek and Długopole-Zdrój,
- searching for gold in the mine in Złoty Stok,
- visiting the Medieval Technology Park.
You can also spend a lazy day at home, lying in bed until noon, then move to the veranda with a book in hand, contemplate the views, cook something together and eat in the garden. Next to our exercise room there is a public sauna and massage room (massage and sauna are additionally payable).
