Gnoyna Park is about an hour by car from Warsaw, and the surroundings are more like the landscapes of Mazury or Roztocze. I first came here in the company of my aunt in 1990. She had lived in the estate nearby before the war and knew well the then owners of Gnoyna, the Bielecki family. The charitable activities of Mrs Eugenia and her husband Henryk have become etched in the memory of the inhabitants. They founded a medical centre in the village, and one of the most modern dairies in pre-war Poland was established in the estate. Thanks to their initiative and resources, a village primary school was established, run by Eugenia. The Second World War interrupted the idyllic life in the village. The nationalisation and parcelling out of the estate finally closed this chapter. Political persecution, the death of his wife and his final eviction caused Henryk to move to Warsaw, where he died in poverty. Szymon Kobylinski knew the fate of the inhabitants of Gnoyna to Szymon Kobylinski, who dedicated his book "Armed Dog" to them.
In 1992, I bought from the commune 1.5 ha of land with the remains of the manor buildings and devastated remnants of the manor park surrounding the property. The manor house turned out to be beyond saving. The old granary and farm buildings were rebuilt from ruins. The materials used, such as bricks and wooden elements, made it possible to preserve the authentic character of the complex. In time, in cooperation with a group of enthusiasts, the devastated post-state farm fishponds were purchased, and the first private Bielecki Family Ponds Nature Reserve in Poland was established, featuring many species of rare birds.
Bricks from the old manor house, field stones and wood were used to finish Dom Łowczego, which blends nicely into the landscape. A charming park with many unusual specimens of trees and bushes attracts attention.
Guests from all over the world have left numerous comments in the extensive guest book, attesting to their positive impressions of their visits.

Architectural designer, interior designer, art historian, conservator. Author of the design for the U.S. Embassy's classical buildings, numerous projects at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, in 2008 director of the museum at the Royal Łazienki in Warsaw. Enthusiast of historic buildings, old furniture, paintings, textiles and trinkets. Objects with history add temperament to interiors and reflect the personality of their inhabitants. Minimalism strips space of its character. It works well in galleries, offices and offices. A house should be a mirror of its inhabitants, show their professions and passions. For this reason, Dom Łowczego Gnoyna is filled with family memorabilia, artefacts collected over the years, books, and artfully decorated with frescoes by Anna Kozłowska. I believe that a house is a glove for the soul, and everyone has a different soul. Mine looks like this.
