Just by the Vistula bend in Bydgoszcz, in the historic Chełmno Land, between the trees, there is a magical place where life tastes differently. The residents of the surrounding settlements organise feather quilting, Kupala Night, weave garlands and share good energy. But it is not as if we in the countryside only eat fresh meat and homemade sausages. Fortunately, there are also vegetarian and vegan options.
Before the Second World War, you could hear three languages here: Polish, German and Dutch. And in each of them, there are words that perfectly describe this place. In Polish, they would sound: silence, peace, rest. In the village of Gzin, you sleep like a baby, eat for two and reset your body among the surrounding greenery. And after just one night spent here, we can recite after Kochanowski: "Peaceful village, merry village, Who will be able to sing your praises?"
Gzinianka that stands in it was built out of a love of nature, a passion for food and a great longing to meet loved ones in a family home. Here live the Shetland pony Kuba, rams, peacocks, whose screams sometimes cut through the silence, happy chickens that lay eggs for us for breakfast, two dogs, a cat and soon also alpacas. There is much to pet, feed and observe.
No need to beat around the bush: this is the perfect place to take a break, air out your head and eat well. Do you feel convinced?
