We follow routes that bypass the obvious, which is why we hit the Kaczawskie Foothills. Here, at the foot of the Folwarczna and Grodzin mountains, the village of Przeździedza withstood the passage of time. Between the remains of the monastery farm, palace and melaphyre mine, in a 300-year-old smithy are cultivated chillout and bossa nova.
We invite you to a real feast for lovers of half-timbered architecture and garden cuisine. The first impression is staggering. Time stopped and worries escaped somewhere through the gaps in the boards. The second breath is just as special. This is not ordinary agritourism, it is a house to which one returns from a long journey. It is filled with history, experience and good energy. Under the mossy roof, there are cosy rooms, the nap time is determined by the cat Lynx, and from walks, you can return with hands full of agate rocks. You just need to know where to look.
We recommend living in accordance with the laws of nature. In spring, paddles in the palm of your hand and on Bóbr River. In August, we make beds in the yard and watch the falling stars. Autumn blows off our flip-flops and imposes sweaters. In winter, we go down to the basement for jars full of summer memories. Then we watch movies, organize workshops and cosy up under the blanket. There is a fireplace in the smithy and relaxation reigns in the framework.
In an old, half-timbered house saved from oblivion. There are no hotel luxuries here, because there is a 300-year-old forge, worn-out boards, a house that we pamper all the time and where real life is vibrant. We wanted you to feel like you are with good friends, which is why we focused on a lot of fabrics. Blankets, rugs, napkins, bedspreads, rugs. All others, like roofing cats. There are wooden floors, old sideboards, a large collection of books and cups with roses.
In addition to a working forge, the attraction of our house is a woodwork room and a blacksmith's room above the forge, where you can also regenerate. When renovating the house, we try to preserve its rural character, while ensuring the comfort of our guests. We are putting into use a kitchenette, a reading room with couches and cushions, and in the orchard, a place for sitting. With us you can make small repairs of your bike, rinse it after muddy adventures, store it in a closed room overnight.
We provide peace of mind in 2 triple rooms with bathrooms and two double rooms, including one with a shared bathroom:
Blacksmith's Room - double bed and shared bathroom.
A wood-scented room can be found on the first floor in the oldest and most valuable part of the house. It is a fragment of a framework room, right above the forge. As befits old wood, you can hear bark beetles, working, creaking boards and house sounds. The windows face east and south. Due to the historical character of the room, there is no bathroom in the room - it is possible to use the shared bathroom on the ground floor.
Wiśniowy Zaułek - a triple room with one double bed and one single bed.
It is situated on the second floor with windows overlooking the orchard. The central element of the room is the chimney serving the bread oven and the fireplace - you will feel warm here. Room with private bathroom with shower.
Green Mi - 3 single beds with the possibility of joining two into one double bed.
Situated on the second floor, very sunny - windows face east and south. Room with private bathroom with shower.
In Color Blue - double bed with a double bed with the possibility of adding a tourist cot.
It is situated on the second floor with windows overlooking the orchard. It has its own bathroom with a bathtub.
In the oldest part of the house, where the floor is undulating and lives its own life, there is a log room. Right above the old forge, you can hide in the relaxation corner.
As it happens at home, the menu depends on the hostess's humor and what is ripe on the flower bed, what was bought at the market and from the neighbors. The breakfasts we serve are very varied. Delicious bread, cottage cheese, ham, pate, salads, always something for vegetarians and always something hot - from pancakes to tart. Appearance matters, so we serve meals on pottery from Bolesławiec. After prior arrangement, we prepare dinners, also in the vegetarian option.
We buy dairy products, cold cuts and bread from local farmers, we grow vegetables in our own garden - watered with rainwater and without chemicals. Every week, on Saturday, 15 km from us, there is a market of local food producers in Siedlęcin.
We make preserves ourselves, from cucumbers to zucchini ketchup to ajwar, and in our cellar there is always not enough space for jars.
For more demanding guests, we provide a kitchenette, where you can prepare meals on a two-burner stove. There is a fridge, electric hob, coffee maker, kettle and microwave. Pots, plates, cups and cutlery are plentiful.
You can get bored in Kuźnia, but these are only short moments during a day full of attractions. In the oldest part of the house, we have kept a log room - typical of half-timbered houses. There is a library here, where you can find Paddington, Mikołaj, dark detective stories, Harry Potter in English, Polish Cuisine and travel reports. Lots of music CDs and DVDs with good movies. You can also play board games - it is various, from Taboo, Scrabble to Dixit. You will also find a large selection of maps that can be a clue in planning your trips.
In the rain, you can light the fire in the forge and try your hand at blacksmithing or use this place for barbecue.
We have a developed barn, which, depending on the needs, becomes a theater stage, a place for workshops, and a dining room. There are village meetings, but also refreshments for larger groups who come to us only for one day.
Kuźnia is an agritourism workshop where we run various workshops: blacksmithing, herbalism, weaving, culinary and cosmetic workshops. Every year we also take part in the Open Day of half-timbered houses. Every spring, on the last Sunday of May, the Kołodziej House Association organizes the Half-timbered Houses Open Day. We organize blacksmithing shows, breakfast on the grass, lectures and have a good time.
If you want to use the rainy weather for sightseeing, we recommend nearby attractions.
On Saturday morning, go to “Górskie Smaki. Agricultural Market in Siedlęcin ”at the Duke's Tower. There, we also recommend night tours with a great guide. From there, through the dam to Pokrzywnik, to look into the Wild Gorge on the edge of the palace park in Maciejowiec. In Wleń, you must climb the stairs of the Lenno Castle tower to admire the panorama of the Western Sudetes. In Pławna, undoubted attractions will be the Castle of Silesian Legends, Piastowski Castle, Noego's Ark and the Museum of Displaced and Expelled People. We live in the Land of Extinct Volcanoes, so it would be a sin not to visit the highest one in Poland in Ostrzyca Proboszczowicka. Come, we'll help you choose something.
The warm months revolve around the river. This is when the Bóbr rafting takes the lead. You can go out on the route by canoe or rafting dinghy.
We had a crazy Dutchman who came to us from the country of tulips by bike. If you are as avid cyclists as he is or you just want to get to know the area on two wheels, then:
- We will show you where to go to.
- We will provide a lockable room for safe storage of bicycles.
- We will make it possible to wash muddy bicycles.
- We will provide a set of tools and a place to make the necessary repairs or adjustments.
- We have patches, tubes, lines and a decent pump.
- We will help you dry clothes or shoes that are soaked while driving.
Both the closer and slightly more distant surroundings of Kuźnia abound in bicycle routes of any kind. There is something for everyone.
What’s there for children?
We believe there is magic in simplicity. We have a lot of time in unplugged mode for the little ones. There is a special corner with games and toys, there is a library and a relaxation corner. In the orchard, we open hammocks, have a fireplace and a roofed shelter. Alleys to create a mysterious base, cozy cats and canine companions. There is always time to draw or take care of the most important things, i.e. stimulating the imagination and having fun without TV.
In the yard, we have a sandbox for children, "excavations" for the youngest, a grassy "pitch" for badminton, playground equipment: bowling, three-person skis, stilts, hockey sticks.
We also invite you to a variety of activities developing curiosity about the world. From time to time, we organize blacksmithing workshops, we introduce you to the secrets of weaving, or we fulfill ourselves in baking.
It also happens that we become the center of children's culture. We had the pleasure to host the puppet Garden Theater from Poznań. It was funny and scary, but most of all mesmerizing.
