In the middle of the Knyszyn Primeval Forest, there is a magical place. Surrounded by wolves, bison, foxes, moose and storks - this is a place where nature is a vibrant companion. There is also a mind spa with all the inconveniences - flies and mosquitoes, no reception and no TV, but also mushrooms in the forest, strawberries, freshly baked bread and a cinema on the woodshed. In Lipowy Most, there is time for rolling out homemade pasta, handmade candles, blueberry pie, a nap in a hammock and a chat with a neighbour. Nobody here calls it slow life. It is simply everyday life in Podlasie.
When a few years ago I started renovating Lipowy, it did not look good at all. I knew, however, that under a ton of wallpaper and plywood, there were wooden beams. I didn't think rationally; I just acted instinctively, as I always do. The project was not without its difficulties, faults and crises. The more my heart rejoices that this house is alive and my family, my family's friends and my friends are happy to spend time here. Now it is time for you.
I invite you to rent the whole house or share it with me. There will be arugula from the garden, a country spa in a bucket, delicious vege food, local beer, full-fledged slow Podlasie life and people who are just so much more in Lipowy Most. Open, calm, welcoming and with a heart on their sleeve.
In Lipowy Most, at number 7, there is: a wooden country house after a partial renovation, a backyard with a fireplace, a hammock, an open-air cinema in the barn, peace, quiet, friendly neighbors and Podlasie slow life.
I have prepared two rental options for you. You can own the whole house for 5 people or rent one bedroom with a lounge for 3 people to relax.
More specific:
The whole house for 5 people consists of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a relaxation room with a sofa bed.
You can also rent one bedroom with a relaxation room for 3 people. Then the second bedroom will be occupied by me. In this configuration, we have separate entrances, and a shared kitchen and bathroom. Then I can cook something, make breakfast, tell about my travels and show you the charms of the Podlasie countryside.
I invite you with pets. If someone has a driving license, I can borrow a motorbike to explore the area :)
In linden we like zero waste, we don't like plastic, we reuse everything we can and create eco miracles if we can. We use eco cleaners, powders and create scented candles. We try to leave our guests freshly baked bread (if it comes out, because sometimes it doesn't come out).
The house has an exclusive kitchen only at your disposal. You can cook, prepare breakfast on the grass and a bonfire to the stars.
If you rent half of the house, I will cook. I don't like meat dishes because I don't eat it myself. First of all, it is meatless. I can make hamburger and steak, but I prefer to cook vegetable. I love Middle East cuisine and a variety of intertwining flavors, because, except for most of Africa, I have already visited all continents and drew a lot of inspiration. I always bring spices and flavors from my expeditions.
Lipowy Most is the heart of the Knyszyn Forest and a bit at the end of the world. There is no shop in the village, and the touring shop arrives on Thursdays and Saturdays. We go to Białystok or Supraśl for bigger purchases. In Białystok, I especially recommend the daily Agricultural Market (Podlasie Agricultural and Commodity Center) - everything is there. Literally.
In the area you can buy eggs (in Lipowy), local cheeses, cold cuts and bread. I also bake the bread myself. At your request, in the morning, a delicious sourdough will appear with breakfast.
There are plenty of delicious eateries around, our favorite - "Zajazd Sokołda" - with wonderful people and regional cuisine - even Belarusian. I also recommend "Provincia" in Supraśl, "Zajazd Pod Sokołem in Sokółka" with really cool food at the highest level and Sokolian ice cream " In the Old School ”. There is also a local hit, that is Tatarska Jurta at Dżennety in Kruszyniany.
Podlasie is a mixture of cultures, languages, religions and a real pearl of rural architecture. The trail of open shutters, wooden churches and those made of brick with golden domes. Tatar villages, cities with a Jewish past, and even a castle. You can rummage in our Knyszyn Forest, visit Białystok and go for a potato cake, not counting the calories.
Take your bikes and swimwear with you. I have Nordic Walking sticks. You will not regret it.
In peace and quiet, we put ourselves in the Knyszyn Forest, which you can explore on foot, by bike, with poles and running. Within it, you will see, for example, Knyszyn, where the heart of Zygmunt August rests, and Supraśl, a health resort and the seat of the August Podlasie Slow Fest festival.
In addition to the festival, Supraśl can boast of extraordinary charm, historic street buildings, an Orthodox monastery and museum of icons, the Buchholtz Palace and other monuments. Aromatic pine forests with Green Velo cycling routes all around. It is an excellent starting point for hiking and cycling tours. In summer, the Supraśl river offers beaches and canoeing trips, and in winter, there are routes for cross-country skiers in the forest. The famous "Wierszalin Theater" has its seat on Kościelna Street, and right next to it, the restored People's House with a cinema and a great restaurant "Province".
For musical experiences and cultural impressions, go to Białystok in the summer. There, during the summer holidays, the "Up To Date Festival" takes place, with concerts of Polish and foreign artists, dances, discos and a great atmosphere.
You cannot miss Kruszyniany and Bohoników, the seat of Podlasie Tatars. You must come to taste tastings, visit wooden mosques with a guide, visit the Tatar cemeteries and learn about the history of these lands.
Less than 30 km from the Lipowy Bridge there are Krynki borderlands. The eastern border of the European Union, right next to Belarus, a place where you must disable mobile data, because you may be surprised by a bill for several hundred zlotys. Tours bypass Krynki, which is a big mistake. The history of the town dates back to the 15th century, picturesque location, interesting monuments, and a unique urban layout. Once upon a time, Jewish Krynki was full of life, now beloved by seekers of history and magic of the borderland. There is such water here that heals everything (you must try Krynka from a glass bottle). It is worth taking a leisurely tour and imagining that Władysław Jagiełło used to come here. Krynki has the largest roundabout in Poland and the second in the world, two synagogues, a large Jewish cemetery and beautiful wooden buildings.
