You must know some things right away. Our part of Frigiliana is the oldest and most beautiful. It is impossible to get here by car and part of the experience of staying is climbing the picturesque steep streets. If you have mobility problems, extremely poor condition or just don't like this type of entertainment - our home may prove to be a challenge. If you are looking for complete seclusion, a cottage lost among the hills - you will not find it at our address either. Our house, Monasteria, is a typical white house in a white village. With a church, grandmothers in black dresses, Spanish language tinged with the local dialect, donkeys by the window and playful children with a ball under their armpits. The house actually consists of two houses: The main house - Monasteria and the smaller house - Casa Limoñ. They are connected by a garden, terraces and grape patio. The main part of the house, the Monasteria, is the remains of the chapel of the Order that once stood here long ago. Monasteria is an example of wonderfully preserved local architecture. Oriental accents, the Andalusian architect and the simplicity of "pueblo blanco" have created a unique Mudejar style. Whitewashed walls, natural materials and blue windows that are always open to a street full of life. Hear noises from the El Adarve restaurant and the sound of my neighbor's guitar. In this part of the house there is a kitchen with a dining room and a living room where family time is usually spent, a bathroom and 2 bedrooms: a double bedroom with a double bed (you can add a cot here) and a small bedroom for one person / child. The stairs from the Monasteri lounge lead to the garden and to the second house we call Casa Limoñ. There, just behind the charming arches, there is a bedroom with two separate beds and a bathroom. Casa Limon is a charming place overlooking the garden and grape patio. Both Monasteria and Casa Limone houses have terraces on their roofs. The views are breathtaking, the sea to the front, the mountains to the rear, the pueblo blanco below. On site you will find everything you need: - barbecue facilities - a fully equipped kitchen with a coffee machine - mosquito nets on the windows (we can provide an additional one for a baby cot) - full information package on what to eat and visit in the area - Nordic walking poles, beach equipment.

We give you our house exclusively. The large comfortable kitchen at Monasteri is fully equipped. You will find here an oven, mixer, blender, all kinds of pots, baking trays and lasagna. Toaster, Naspresso coffee machine, milk fraper, filter coffee maker, citrus juicer. The kitchen has basic spices and often a lot of basic products such as pasta, rice, olive oil. There are plenty of great pubs in the immediate vicinity. Starting with the one closest to us, with a terrace providing a view of the sea, to several dozen throughout Frigiliana. In the welcome package prepared especially for you, you will find several verified addresses. One of them is the wonderful local restaurant Sal y Pimienta, run by Polish friends Dorota and Zenek. You can do grocery shopping in Frigiliana, especially juicy fruit, oil and wine.

We usually spend time on one of the terraces, enjoying afternoon coffee, evening wine and listening to the sounds of Frigiliana, enjoying the sun, sea and mountains. Active travelers of all ages feel great here. Enthusiasts of trekking in the mountains, families with children and art seekers. Many artists have fallen in love with Frigiliane, many painters, sculptors and musicians live and work here. Our closest neighbor is Klause Hinkle, a famous watercolorist who will gladly tell you about his work and show you wonderful paintings. In the evenings, however, you have a chance to enjoy the music coming from the terrace of the neighbor-saxophonist. And there are real-normal Spaniards around, you'll hear them during football matches. 12 things you need to know about Frigilian: 1. Recognized as the most beautiful village in Andalusia with a rich history of cooperation between three cultures: Christian, Muslim and Jewish. 2. You can come here without a car. It is better to walk the narrow streets, and to get to the seaside by a city bus. We recommend a flight to Malaga, then a bus to Nerja and a bus to Frigiliana. This is where the need for 4 wheels ends. 3. For starters, it's best to just stay in Frigiliana and wander around the flowery, white streets all day. We promise amazing artistic experiences (the Moorish decorations on buildings, automatic theaters, wonderful restaurant terraces, galleries and concerts) 4. You can take the bus to Nerja to the beach, eat paella in one of the best restaurants, lie on the beach and visit the amazing caves in Nerja (the length of the corridors is 4823 meters, and the slope of the terrain through which they lead is 72 meters). 5. We are just over an hour's drive from the Sierra Nevada ski lifts. 6. We have 100 kilometers to Granada, where there is probably the greatest monument of Spain - the oriental Alhambra palace. 7. It is worth planning a trekking through the mountains, which are located just behind the fence of our house. We have detailed maps with trails for our guests. 8. For more active mountain lovers, we recommend Andalusian wonders of nature: Caminito del Rey - Walk of the Kings in El Chorro, El Torcal - Spanish Table Mountains, Trekking through the Río Chillar, Rio Verde or Río Higuerón canyons, "Los Vados" - Via Ferrata Motril and walks in Las Alpujarras. 9. Frigiliana is easy access to the mountains but also to the water. The more than a dozen CostaTropical beaches located between Nerja and Almuñécar offer rocky, well-hidden secluded havens of marine nature as well as larger and busier places with organized water sports tourism. We recommend renting kayaks from the beach in Maro and snorkeling from Buriana beach. 10. If you come in autumn and winter, you will come to harvest time. This is when citrus, avocado, mango, raisins and figs as well as various types of nuts and dates taste best in local greengrocers. Everything comes from local orchards. 11. The temperature rarely drops below 10 degrees, even in January. You can swim in the sea from early spring to late autumn and enjoy the sun 320 days a year. 12. There is a fiesta at any time of the year. In the streets of Frigiliana there is a colorful, artistic life that is worth taking part in. There is no wi-fi at home, we use (for work, movies or "zoom school") a local sim card with internet, if you need access to the network, take your laptop and let me know in advance, everything will be ready for your arrival. It is not some super fast mega internet, but for the needs of Netflix, Zoom or my Teo's games it is sufficient. Free internet is available throughout Frigiliana, in squares, main streets, at playgrounds, at the church. Frigiliana has been covered by the European Program: Free Wi-Fi (password available at the Tourist Information in Frigiliana). Unfortunately, the walls of the houses are thick, the streets are a real labyrinth, and the mountain massif behind us makes it difficult to receive them at home. It is worth taking a laptop to local cafes, free wi-fi and a glass of Muscatel wine or to the beautiful library, which is located in an old hacienda. Parking: Parking in Frigiliana is free. Both tourists and locals park on the lower street: Avenida Carlos Cano and walk home.
