The Tatra Mountains should be respected and treated with a degree of distrust. Like any mountain. However, they make us fall in love with them, they make us miss them when we return to everyday life in the city, and then they take us back as their own. This is what happened to us. It was here that we ran away with our young and then teenage children to break out of corporate lethargy. The Tatra National Park was a cure for all evil. Halny dispersed unnecessary thoughts out of our head, difficult uphill routes helped us to think about this and that, and the snow-covered slopes were a lot of fun. That's how it was and that's how it is.
So we are not surprised that everyone would like to have them exclusively, but it is getting harder and harder. We managed to find a piece of paradise with a view like in Wojciech Gerson's paintings. It is here, in Kościelisko, that Nydala Rustic was created, i.e. two highlander houses (2 twins), and in them, 4 apartments for you, your friends, or maybe strangers whom you will just meet. It is wonderful inside and lofty outside. Through the windows, you can observe the piled-up mountain massif, enjoy the warmth of the fireplace or sauna inside, sit on the terrace or go on a tour right away.
Nature is dear to us, which is why we built the houses of windbreaks, i.e. logs obtained from trees that fell after strong winds and storms. The storm that hit northern Poland and Suwałki left its ravages, but thanks to it, Nydala Rustic was created. The circle of life has come full circle. No tree has been cut down to build our homes.
It's the same in the winter and summer season, regardless of the temperature, we always spend a lot of time around the fire. We also recommend you do the same. And like a bonfire, expect cooking on an open fire with dishes covered in smoke and heated discussions until dawn.
Then it's time for sports, that's what we like to do the most. In the winter, mainly skiing - around the slopes in Witów, Szymoszkowa and Kasprowy Wierch. Perfectly prepared cross-country skiing trails are literally under the windows. In the summer, we recommend hiking. Routes that we love and are within walking distance from our home - Kościeliska Valley, Chochołowska Valley and Mała Łąki Valley. In addition, over 250 km of bicycle paths for lovers of two wheels. You will burn off the oscypek (cheese) and moskole very quickly.
We invite you to a place where you can do a technological detox. There will be time for chatting with children, evenings with board games or playing cards, bonfires and building an igloo.
Our houses are built of windbreaks, i.e. logs obtained from trees fell by strong winds and storms. The storm that hit northern Poland left its ravages, but thanks to it Nydala Rustic was created. The environment and care for the natural ecosystem is something that flows through our veins, which is why a lot of furniture is also made of reclaimed materials.
Nydala Rustic consists of two semi-detached houses, each with two independent, fully equipped apartments / chalets (86 m² each) - surrounded by a garden with fireplace. This arrangement offers great privacy. When arriving in a larger group or with a large family, you can separate yourself and still be very close. If you are traveling as a family or in a group of up to 4 people, one cottage will successfully provide comfort. Each cottage is designed for 4 people, but on your special request we can add an extra bed.

Oh yes, cooking and eating are our passion. You, too, try to enjoy cooking on the fire or grill, staying in the garden overlooking the Tatra Mountains and sharing it with your friends - this is a slow meal!
Of course, you can prepare a meal in the kitchen in the cottage, but we encourage you to cook dishes on the fire. In the mountains, you cannot miss a traditional sausage baked over a fire. Among our fire-cooked specialties, which we recommend you to try, we also have a casserole in a cast iron cauldron, also known as "stews" (potatoes, onions, cabbage, carrots, sausage and bacon, sliced and seasoned with salt and herbs); pea soup on a smoked rib, cooked in a special pot on a tripod; bread (Australian damper) baked in a cauldron; chickens on a spit. It doesn't always have to be just sleazy, sometimes it's also refined. One memorable New Year's Eve, when my friends and I were baking spicy shrimps on the fire and warming seafood soup in a tripod pot, the thermometer showed -18 degrees!
The nearest highlander-style restaurants are within a walking distance of approx. 2 km from the house. You can come to dinner and burn some calories on your way back. Award-winning restaurants are located 5-10 km, they are easy to reach by foot while admiring spectacular views along the way or by a short car trip.
Local and very well-equipped grocery and industrial store 1 km from the house.
Boredom is not an option. If you invite her inside, she will be a nice guest, but as soon as you go out to the terrace, the boredom melts into the refreshing mountain air.
In winter, we mainly recommend skiing and wonderful moments when the whole family can pursue their passion and build bonds. A walk with a sleigh through the Chochołowska Valley to the shelter on Polana Chochołowska is also a great idea. On the way back, there are several hills that allow you to make your walk more pleasant with toboggan runs. Fun for children and parents guaranteed.
Cross-country skiing trails and centers where you can rent equipment are located near the house. For those who want nothing difficult, and we sincerely recommend skiing. The routes of various difficulty levels run literally under the windows of the house. So prepare a good mood, lubricate your face with greasy sunscreen and snowfall.
In summer, we recommend hiking. Up and down valleys and peaks. Our beloved routes are within walking distance from the house - the picturesque Kościeliska Valley with lots of caves, the Chochołowska Valley with a beautiful vast Glade and a shelter, and the Mała Łąki Valley, which can also be the beginning of a high-mountain expedition to Czerwone Wierchy. In addition, there is the possibility of organizing truly unique bicycle trips: the bicycle route around the Tatra Mountains connects Poland and Slovakia and is built on an old railway line (approx. 250 km) or a lovely route that we have traveled many times from the Red Monastery in Slovakia to Szczawnica; it meanders along the Dunajec River and runs through the National Park.
Let's not forget about rafting down the Dunajec River - great fun for young and old - on a traditional rafting raft or a pontoon.
What’s there for children?
Give the children a journey for one smile. Take a sled, because in winter the snow reaches your windows and the surrounding mountains and valleys are all-day fun. As befits Kościelisko, it is quiet, but close to the bustle. So you can hide here from the tourist spots, but at any time jump to Krupówki or the surrounding ski slopes. In the evening, light a fire, count the stars, bake the potatoes and take out a songbook with highlander tunes.
In summer, kids and teens count the steps. Set a destination for the nearest shelter and see if you can march to the top. In summer, you can also go up the chairlift and observe the world from an unusual perspective. Then the water park and the fire again. In addition, the nearby forest offers the opportunity to play hide and seek, pick berries or go down to the stream and organize a competition "who will keep their feet in the icy mountain water for longer" :)
