Our guests usually know what they are signing up for. In fact, this is probably why they come here. They want to see, touch the walls, smell and see for themselves that the house in which they will spend the next few days is made of straw and clay. Inside, you cannot hear lightning during a storm, it is never damp, it is warm in the winter and pleasantly cool in the summer.
We created these houses from dreams of something that has already become history. We remembered this story, opened ourselves to knowledge, took notes with curiosity, and then created a clay and straw estate in the very centre of the Tuchola Forest. We invite the curious and those suffering from a cough. Słomiany Zapał heals from the city and from allergies.

We are on-site, we give our guests space and intimacy, but we're always ready to help
The settlement came from a dream of living closer to the countryside and health. The idea of building houses made of straw bales plastered with clay was born in parallel. We eagerly collected knowledge, and then, together with Paweł Sroczyński and the Cohabitat foundation, with the help of the Polish UNDP Project Office, we built the first house on our lake. We enjoyed every stage: from baling the straw, to laying the traditional Kashubian roof made of spruce shingles, or skudły. I love living here. The arrivals and departures of birds in March and October, the outbreak of spring and a flowery meadow in May and June, the warm and clean lake in summer and the warmth and cosiness of clay walls and a fireplace in winter. We invite you.
