My grandmother lived in a village situated on the Skrwa River. In the summer, in the old days, she always cooked in the summer kitchen, which for us kids had a certain magic. I will always associate summer cuisine with delicious food. Strawberries and gooseberries in June, tomatoes and paprika in July, golden grain in August and the best apples in September. For this a dog under the grass table, blissful laziness and carefree.
The heart of our habitat in Warmia is the Summer Kitchen. This is where we and our guests spend the most time. By cooking, eating, talking and listening to music. From the terrace of the Summer Kitchen you can enjoy the wild views of the forest and the pond. In the evening, conversations over dinner are drowned out by the croaking of frogs. Pure madness, I tell you. After dinner, return to the room, listening as the earth breathes steadily, as moths fly into the light, and the birds slowly quiet in the night silence. In the morning, however, they start the first shift earlier than you and wake you up more effectively than alarm clocks. The kids run out to the grass barefoot, go to check if the tadpoles in the pond have turned into frogs, and then look into the garden, because the vegetables for breakfast will not harvest by themselves. You, however, have time for conversations that we like so much and for a lazy coffee. We exchange experiences, talk and enjoy life. You will find us in Warmia, several kilometers from Olsztyn. Surrounded by a forest, with a flood before my eyes and innate optimism.
Ps. We dream of a place that you also create. Who will feel good with us? There will be people who like people. For whom segregating rubbish is not a problem and fresh nettles are the best tea in the world. There is a forest, a wild forest that cannot be reached with a pram, but wearing good galoshes has a chance to enter the land of elves. Like the forest and backwaters, there are mosquitoes and other flying creatures, there is no tragedy because bats live in the habitat. The area is not fenced and there are no keys in the rooms. We are less than 2 km away from the asphalt road with potholes. If you like hammock, nature and healthy food, Summer Kitchen is for you!
In a Warmian habitat, with a view of the pool and the forest around. 3.5 hectares without neighbors, so everyone feels comfortable. You will find the rooms in a forest barn. One on the ground floor and three in the attic. Each with bathroom and terrace / balcony. The rooms are unheated and we do not lock them with keys. Sun loungers and hammocks on the terraces are definitely a good option for night listening to the living forest with impunity. If you have not heard the rutting place live, after visiting us you will talk about it with a flushed face. We promise. For those looking for exclusive space, we have prepared a wooden and brick 2-person house in the meadow. Warmiak is a house with a soul. He likes being spoken to. He's far from perfect, he's so wonderfully crooked and everyone falls in love with him. It has one room with lots of windows, a bathroom and a terrace overlooking the forest.
Each of our guests has access to:
- Summer kitchen and common space around it - tables, benches, hammocks.
- Pond - boat and paddling, deck chairs by the pond. Fishing accessories.
- Libraries in the forest barn. In addition to books, you will find maps, tourist information and musical instruments.
- Bicycles and maps of bicycle routes.
- Children's space - first of all, we encourage you to go for walks in the forest. There is a mud kitchen, a small sandbox and a wooden house.
- More than 3 hectares of private land surrounded by forest.
We start with the champions' breakfast. Sourdough bread. Any spreads, jams we make. Cheeses from Praslit and Angelic Hills. Smoked meats from Orzysz, vegetables from the garden or PGR Tłokowo, and eggs from my neighbor's Asia. We cannot omit the coffee from Bless Coffee Roasters - a local roaster from Olsztyn, which can boast the title of Polish Barista Champion.
Dinner is a combination of our travel inspirations. We mix the kitchen of grandma Halinka and mother Marielle from the distant Reunion in the Indian Ocean. As a rule, it is a soup / snack + main course + something sweet. Breakfasts and dinners are included in the price of the stay.
You can buy drinks during the day. If there is a grandmother there, there will also be dumplings or the most delicious buns. Everything at a reasonable price.
Cool boredom is not bad, cool boredom clears the head where there is room for new ideas. We hope that you will first of all rest with us, regenerate your strength and experience an adventure for one smile. For those who seek respite, we have prepared several relaxation zones in the habitat. Sun loungers and hammocks are essential. As soon as you get bored of live TV with the program - forest or pool, you can conquer our pond in the Hawaiian style - the board and paddle are in full readiness. A traditional boat is waiting for the more subdued ones. Is a pond not enough for you? We have moored several canoe boats with friends who live by the river - you will sail them to Lake Wadąg. You can also get to it on one of the several available bikes. And besides all that, the LAS. Just a forest. It is at your fingertips and it is only up to you what to do with it.
And if it happened and you are really bored, we can show you what it is about reusable diapers for children (these are available to our guests on the basis - you use and leave, we wash). You can help us to mulch in the garden. Or maybe you want to renovate a piece of furniture? We'll figure something out.
What’s there for children?
Children in Siedlisko feel super at ease, like frogs in a backyard pond. So we invite all kumki, especially the crazy and wild ones. Those who are not afraid to get dirty, and at the sight of a crooked board they scream - a crocodile! Then these crocodiles attack sunbathers by the pond. So it can be fun, the imagination goes wild, the tadpoles turn into screeching toads, and the fun only ends after sunset. In addition, from morning to night you can organize the construction of a hut and toast bread over the fire. There is a wooden house, a small sandbox and a mud kitchen. We guarantee that the kids will not shine clean, they will be tired and their appetite will exceed your expectations. Currants and blueberries straight from the bush - that's it!
And quite seriously. We have a mission. We believe very much in educating children. So wise, natural, in the fresh air. We are happy to explain why it is worth and how to reduce and then segregate garbage. We can make leaven and bake bread together. Will we take the kids to the garden, maybe they will come home with a plant? Walking in trees, smelling moss and tracking animals - nature in our habitat is at your fingertips.
Older children can go with Przemek (our neighbor) to the forest for an educational walk. This is an extra paid option and you need to make an appointment in advance.
