There is something about the Low Beskids that is not to be found anywhere else. Except, of course, that Stasiuk lives here and the best honey is in Kamienna. They speak of this area as the "land of gentleness" and that it is the last wild mountains. That wilderness is a fact - you cannot meet a living soul for many days on a journey. And there is somewhere to wander, because of Lemkos' trail, crosses, chapels and churches. Yes, to reach us here, in a house from 1939, on a hill overlooking the Beskid Niski. We invite travellers, wanderers, seekers of traces of history. We suspect that everything will be fine.
In the social house that we saved from oblivion. We have done everything to protect the original elements of the house so that the interior doors, ceilings, floors and stone foundation are authentically old. Only the windows and finished bathrooms are new.
This is a full-blooded farm in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Low Beskids. The smell of bread, challah and rolls fills the house and your salivary glands work at full speed from the first sight. However, if you prefer to cook, there is a kitchen in the house.
We offer a two-story house with a balcony and terrace. You can rent the house exclusively or choose one of 4 rooms:
- number of bedrooms 4, all with separate bathrooms
- two smaller bedrooms on the ground floor (2- and 3-person), kitchen with dining room and living room.
- on the first floor (attic) there are two large bedrooms (4- and 5-person), kitchen and living room.
The hundred-year-old log house is kept in a country style, minimalism reigns here, the sun creeps into the house, and the cats wander from the kitchen to the terrace and back. The rooms are decorated with rustic furniture and trinkets made by us and our friends. The spacious kitchen and dining room are equipped with household appliances (dishwasher, fridge, gas stove) and dishes, so you can cook yourself.
The interior is wonderfully adapted to what you need, while remaining in the atmosphere of old times. Comfortable beds, new bedding, but the wardrobes remember a lot. The bathrooms are functional, but the floor was moved from the old house. Old Farm is, in a sense, a perfect symbiosis of the past and the present. The house has four guest rooms and a common dining room and kitchen, a separate one on the ground floor and another (slightly smaller) one on the first floor. The rooms are spacious with double beds. Two double rooms (three rooms) on the ground floor and two four rooms (five rooms) in the attic.
On the hill, about 200 m from the road, that's where you will find us. On an area of approximately 30 ares, we take care of guests, our children, friends, cats, dogs, goats and chickens. The order of care varies depending on your needs.
At your disposal is a covered barbecue and a children's playground with a slide and a trampoline. In the summer, we organize fairy-tale film screenings under the stars.
We also invite you to workation! We have high-speed internet (measurement attached), and the rooms have desks or tables for work. In addition, there are three common areas, i.e. large tables (kitchen and living room upstairs and downstairs).
Stara Farma is an agritourism where you eat royally, love to feed and celebrate meals at a common table. Dialect, with dirty children's faces, happy adults and no rush. We cook ecologically, seasonally, at home and using local products. We make cottage cheese, fry plum jam. We buy seasonal vegetables, eggs and other dairy products (from cow and goat milk) from friendly farms or we produce them ourselves. We buy ecological honey from beekeepers in the Beskids. Free from artificial colors, flavor enhancers and preservatives. Just culinary playfulness.
On a good day we serve breakfast, which may last until noon. Every day I bake sourdough bread, there are blueberries, challah, progi and other gluten-free delicacies. So there will be slices, goat cheese, highlander bundz, tomatoes, strawberries, and garden lettuce. Shakshuka with eggs from our roost and always something sweet. Pure debauchery recommended.
We serve suppers from Monday to Saturday - on Sunday we make a foul and only serve breakfast. We usually eat until the evening because you drink compote and prosecco, it's cheerful and friendly. He eats cold soup and cauliflower, and for the main grilled dishes - veg or meat. And the matter of dessert - fruit with crumble with ice cream, pancakes, cheese tart with fruit or shortbread with rhubarb and meringue. The menu depends on the available ingredients and the opinion of the hostess.
Good morning, we're talking early in the morning. We drink the first coffee on a meadow or terrace. Wearing pajamas, we go to the henhouse, read in the biographies of the artists, let the goats graze and go to prepare breakfast. We meet you there. Sleepyheads or early risers. There was noise at the table, talking about routes and paths for walkers, exchanging experiences, suggesting where to go horse riding and where to go to the beach.
The Low Beskids is a pleasant end of the world where life is moving away from civilization. Beautiful photographic landscapes, wild animals, secluded mountain ranges, gentle hills, natural beech forests and unregulated streams make this place magical and therapeutic.
- The nearest ski lift is Smerekowiec 12 km and Tylicz 25 km.
- The nearest forest starts right behind the fence.
- Swimming pool, horse riding, spa park, ice rink and more
- The nearest Klimkowskie Lake is 12 km away from us, and there is an unguarded swimming pool, water equipment rental, and fishing.
Beskid trails are obstacle courses. It's not that simple and boring at all. Sometimes you have to cross a river barefoot in icy water, walk on a bough or jump over stones. Tourist routes lead through wild but not too steep peaks of the Beskids. Horse and bicycle routes run through the valleys along the streams and mountain streams.
Wandering through the valleys you can admire numerous wooden churches, hundreds of roadside crosses and chapels, and wooden bays. These are the remains of the once displaced Lemkos. Wild orchards and stone foundations of Lemko houses are often the only witnesses to history.
The Low Beskids is a land of wild animals. Dormice, deer, lynxes and even wolves and bears live in the beech forests. A black stork, lesser spotted eagle or an eagle owl are stationed here. Bats live in churches in Beskid. On the trail you can often see a spotted salamander, a toad or a newt.
A large part of the Beskid forests was incorporated into the Magura National Park, which has its seat in Krempna. The biggest attraction and curiosity of the park is the Kornuty reserve, which consists of numerous scattered rocks, up to 10 meters high. Additionally, there are caves in the reserve, including the longest 200-meter Mroczna Cave.
For those who prefer to rest in a stationary version next to the house, we have built a small barn that serves as a living room and dining room, as well as a summer cafe. There is also a mega atmosphere with a fireplace and grill, where in the evenings we integrate, talk about life, talk and taste "la dolce vita".
Regardless of the season, go to Bobrowisko. This magical place near Stary Sącz was created in the fork of two rivers - Dunajec and Poprad, which flow into it. In addition to the interesting modernist design, you will be delighted with the silence disturbed only by the screech of seagulls. Around the wild vegetation, waterfowl and beaver lodges. Insightful eyes will notice here and there chewed tree trunks.
What’s there for children?
We have managed to create an oasis where parents rest with their children and calm down when young people wander around the surrounding meadows and the henhouse. We are parents of three, so we did tests A, B and C on our own skin. Both toddlers and rebellious teenagers will feel great here. The former is satisfied with natural attractions and good company, and the latter, in boredom and rebellion, sometimes with help with a warm berry and a good book.
The Internet is unnecessary because the time is filled with playing on the trampoline, lying with the dog in a hammock, putting the cat to sleep, watching the goats live, wading in the stream and walking in the grain. In the evening, adults go to a concert with their neighbors, and the youngest have a summer cinema in the open air.
The accessories that make life easier include a baby cot, baby bath, high chair, plastic cutlery and dishes, mountain carrier, bicycle seats, rides, bicycles, sledges.
What’s there for employees?
In the kitchen, there are two wooden tables that, joined together, create the perfect space to work together. The mini lounge on the ground floor is closed, so for a moment of focus, please head there. In addition, in each room there are tables or desks and comfortable armchairs. Especially for working people, we try to accept guests without children, because we know that they can sometimes be "disturbances".
