The last bell for recess rang centuries ago and the break continues today. There are those who still remember school desks and blackboards. They are no longer here, but there are beds, bedside tables and comfortable sofas. The school was built here at the beginning of the 20th century, so, about 100 years ago. We decided to save a bit of the past, take care of leaving the original interior, but equip it with the comfort necessary for modern times.
We will be proud of the wonderful kitchen that is rumoured to be whispered about in living rooms. We will talk about the lake, good books, peace and the Wel River, the best for canoeing trips. Head to the village of Trzcin, in the heart of the Welski Landscape Park. It is a unique souvenir of the glacier, which has left a lot of ponds everywhere and beautiful hilly terrain. The rapid Wel River and the quiet and clean Kiełpińskie Lake surrounded by a forest meanders nearby. Come by, we have many more stories to share.
Built over a century ago, it was once a Prussian elementary school. After a complete renovation, it has been transformed into a beautiful and intimate home, providing wonderful conditions for relaxation and a complete system reset. The interior is simple and unconventional. The rooms are tastefully furnished, yet without opulence, the bedding smells of fresh air, and the bathrooms are sparkling clean. In this home, Mrs. Iwonka pays attention to every detail, ensuring you feel special. Even your pets can be pampered.

For breakfast, prepare for:

- fruit from our own orchard,
- culinary novelties and traditional gems.

The garden at Stara Szkoła is half a hectare and is exclusively for your use. This is where the ingredients for our dishes come from, grown by Mrs. Iwonka. Its care, although it takes a lot of time, is a real passion - we put our hearts into it. You can spend time there, playing with your children, observing life around the pond or simply lounging on a deckchair.
In case of bad weather, you have a common living room with sofas, a bookcase and a fireplace at your disposal. You couldn't wish for a better place to immerse yourself in reading.
In summer, evenings spent on the terrace will be made more pleasant by a glass of wine, our homemade liqueur and, of course, a barbecue. You can also sit around the campfire, listen to the forest and recall songs from the scout songbook. However, everything with respect for other guests.
In winter, relaxation can be sleepy or active. Just 15 km from our Stara Szkoła, you can test your skills on the ski slope at the Kurza Góra Ski Resort. The conditions are perfect, the snow cannons are dusting with snow, and professionals and novices alike are basking in white luxury.
Stara Szkoła is located in the heart of the Welski Landscape Park, near Lake Kiełpińskie and the rushing Wel River. The area offers plenty of opportunities for active leisure, including kayaking, hiking and biking, fishing, horse riding and winter sleigh rides. Nearby:
- Lake Kiełpińskie, located approx. 3 km from us. It is one of the few lakes completely surrounded by forests that cover the steeply sloping shores of the reservoir. A paradise for fishing enthusiasts, you can catch fish such as: perch, bream, bream, roach, tench and pike. There is a tourist trail around the lake.
- The Wel River - kayaking on the Wel River has been a very popular and interesting form of active recreation for years. While kayaking, you can discover the world from a completely new perspective. The surrounding wildlife, silence and peace will allow you to fully relax and take a break from everyday life. Light effort while paddling and the kilometers covered will be a source of unusual impressions and great satisfaction! The Wel consists of sections of varying degrees of difficulty, from easy to very difficult, even of a mountainous nature, e.g. the Piekiełko Reserve.
Our friendly company "Kajakiem po Welu" will provide you with travel essentials, provide you with provisions, and help you choose the best section of the route for you.

- Oak of the Republic - a 500-year-old natural monument,
There are 3 bikes available for rent on site. We recommend a trip to nearby villages, to the lake or in search of mushrooms.
Boredom rests the brain, stimulates the imagination and even develops relationships. Let the child and yourself get a little bored and have a good rest. At the Old School, kids will find time to go crazy, play games, look for owls in hollows, soak their feet in a pond and run after a ball. A mini playground will satisfy the natural rush to play, and a large, rural one will provide greater needs for frolics. You will find him just around the corner by the local lounge. In the living room, by the fireplace, children will be able to watch fairy tales, and they will be lulled to sleep by a fairy tale from the bookcase. A trip to the lake or a canoeing trip will be a lot of fun, and stories about the Old School will be a decent history lesson.
