Welcome to Lutówko, in the land of 100 lakes, in the heart of the Krajna Landscape Park. Here, in the lands that have belonged to my family for 150 years, together with my dad, we have built Uroczysko, a place where you will make beautiful memories.
As a child, I spent all my holidays in Lutówko. I ran in the woods, went fishing, and Grandma Halinka served the greatest delicacy - wild mushrooms with country eggs or warm bread from the oven. Years later, as an adult, I became more interested in our family history and started collecting information about our heritage. Here's what I remember from the story.
Lutówko used to be called Klein Luttau, and before the Second World War, 4 km to the west was the Polish-German border. Redbrick houses, half-timbered architecture and names such as Hoppe, Mueller, Mappes and Zeller were not uncommon.
The 19th century is a strange time in which peasants had to pay serfdom for the cultivation of every piece of the land. It was only in 1842 that a large amount of land was allocated to my ancestors, the Klozak family. In addition to agriculture, they dealt with wheelwrighting, which was quite a lot of fun at that time. The wheelwright's son - a soldier who took part in World War I, and after he returned from the front, he married Anna Nickel, a resident of Lutówko. This is where our family name comes from.
Anna, who inherited all the property after her husband's death, in the mid-1930s, brought her brother Józef (my great-grandfather) to Lutówko along with his wife Zofia and son Klemens. This little Klemens became a stove fitter in the future, and then so did my grandfather. His solid stoves still stand in several old houses in the area.
The rest of the 150-year history is written by me - Przemek with my father Jerzy - son of Klemens. We have created a family guest house with 4 apartments on Lake Lutowskie. The architecture refers to the past of Lutówko, but the rest of it is completely contemporary. We want you to rest here in the peace that has survived centuries. Cast a fishing rod and catch a giant pike on a hook, row through the isthmus to Lake Mielec, eat scrambled eggs from rural eggs and experience a holiday that is worth missing. Who knows, maybe we'll reveal more family secrets to you.
Make yourself comfortable in a house whose architecture refers to pre-war times. In the 19th century, Lutówko was a border town with Germany, so half-timbered construction was common here. In four apartments we have everything you need for a luxurious, self-sufficient holiday.
Each has a large living room with TV, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, a spacious terrace overlooking the lake and forests with a set of furniture for morning coffee and an evening glass of wine, a large bedroom with a double bed that can be divided into separate beds, a small bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom. The apartments are approx. 50 m2:
- "Grynszpan"
- "Jasmine"
- "Pearl"
- "Milky"
We have made sure that you do not miss anything on site. Complete relaxation is complemented by a private beach with a place for sunbathing and swimming, beach chairs, a pier, boats, kayaks and a pedal boat. There are also free new bikes on site to explore the area.
For the youngest we have a playground with a view of the lake, a volleyball and football pitch, a ping-pong table, badminton and many other attractions. In the evenings, there is a large outdoor shelter with a place for a barbecue and bonfire. Pets are always welcome here.
Here you can book Grandpa Klemens' house exclusively for 8 guests: https://slowhop.com/pl/miejsca/4409-dom-dziadka-klemensa-uroczysko-lutowko.html
Each apartment allows you to prepare your own meals, fully equipped kitchens are at your disposal. You will find in them an electric hob, hood, kettle, filter coffee maker, microwave, large fridge with freezer, a set of dishes, plates, cutlery, pots, glasses, mugs, tea and coffee cups, wine glasses and necessary accessories for preparing breakfasts, dinners and dinner.
There is also a shed with a hearth waiting for you in the garden. We will make sure that the next day everything is sparkling clean and ready for the next barbecue, e.g. fish caught by our own hands in our lake. We try to make you feel good with us, so red apples or country eggs may be waiting for you in the apartments. You can also buy eggs and vegetables from the local farmer on the spot. Let us know and we'll help you complete the transaction.
Together with my father, we have made every effort to ensure that you cannot complain about boredom. All the attractions we offer are at your disposal completely free of charge. Lake, peace and quiet, clean air and otherworldly views also for free. Make yourself comfortable in this beautiful corner of the Krajeńskie Lake District, among the unspoiled nature, with huge specimens under the water and game in the forest.
On site, you have a whole range of attractions right under your nose:
- private recreational plot on the lake with a pier, a designated place for bathing, a place for sunbathing and rest,
- a city beach with a large pier, wide and long descent into the water with a hard bottom,
- free boats, kayaks and pedal boats, mountain bikes,
- playground,
- a shed for a feast with a place for grill and fireplace,
- volleyball court and legs,
- outdoor table tennis.
By bike, on foot or by canoe. The Krajeński Landscape Park is worth exploring from every angle. Water, forest, meadows. It is made up of numerous reserves, forest refuges, nature monuments, river valleys and over 100 lakes distinguished by crystal clear water. This is crazy. In the nearby forest, in peat bogs and swamps, we can find not only unique plants, but also wild animals. Red deer, roe deer, fallow deer and wild boar. Do not be surprised when you hear the piercing voice of a black cormorant by the fire in the evening.
Autumn is the time of big fish and big mushrooms. In the lake you can catch beautiful pike, zander, perch, roach, bream and tench. You can fish directly from our private jetty or boat. The lake itself is managed by the PZW, and periodic fishing permits can be purchased directly on the website: www.eokon.pl or in the fishing ring No. 121 in Sępólno Krajeński. In the forests of Krajewski you can collect wild mushrooms, black heads, chanterelles and goats, kites, bay boletes, red mushrooms and rare mushrooms commonly known as a goat's beard. In addition, walks among colorful trees, falling autumn leaves, the last warm rays of autumn sun, evenings on the terrace with a view of the calm surface, the sounds of rutting.
An additional advantage is the various types of bicycle, hiking and canoeing routes, thanks to which you can admire the surrounding nature all year round. The water route can run along several lakes: Lutowskie, Mielec, Duży and Mały Smolanka, and Lake Sępoleńskie, connected with each other by charming inlets. In the apartments you will find detailed descriptions and maps of nearby routes specially prepared for you.
The area is full of monuments of secular and religious architecture. They are real pearls of cultural heritage:
- Człuchów Castle - the second largest castle of the Order after Malbork.
- in Człuchów it is also worth seeing the former brewery, the market square with tenement houses, the former stagecoach station,
- ruins of the fortified manor house in Orl,
- impressive ruins of an eclectic palace in Runowo Krajeński,
- the stone and brick railway bridge in Bytów is one of the most attractive viewpoints in the entire Landscape Park.
What’s there for children?
Remembering my childhood holidays, which I spent at Grandma Halinka's in Lutówek, I can assure you that the children will be delighted. Forests full of animals, daily fishing and looking for adventure awaited me. This rural jungle was a real attraction for a kid raised in Toruń. A lot has changed since my childhood, but nature has remained the same. Lutowskie Lake at your fingertips, private beach and pier, separate bathing area for children. There are 2 boats, 4 kayaks and a large pedalo at your disposal. Parents will surely help with paddling, and kids and older kids in life jackets will be able to try their hand at fishing. Watch out for giant pike!
We also have a mini football and volleyball pitch, badminton, a ping-pong table and bicycles with chairs for children. From morning to evening, there is a playground with turrets, a tunnel, slides, swings, a stork's nest, a climbing wall, sandstone, trampoline and a merry-go-round. It will be great !!!
