People used to send postcards from their holidays. You went to the post office, chose a nice picture, bought a stamp and wrote your greetings. Nowadays, nobody remembers that, because all you have to do is snap a picture with your phone and everyone instantly knows what and where. It seems simpler and quicker but lacks charm.
Halfway between Poznań and Berlin, in the neighbourhood of the Polish Rio de Janeiro, in a narrow isthmus between two glacial lakes, there is a house that is a living postcard for immediate residence. After many uphill steps, you come to a villa built in the 1930s that could have been the setting of a 20th-century novel. Apparently, it was once the holiday home of wealthy Berliners. There are also rumours that it was the headquarters of the German army during the Second World War. However, the truth may be quite different.
In Lagow, at the foot of the castle of the Order of St. John, life goes on in a lazy holiday rhythm. Trześniowskie Lake is one of the lakes where Łagów is located, it is very deep and clean. It is a real paradise for divers. The more so because in its waters it is said that a hidden treasure of the Knights Hospitaller lies. This old legend gained popularity when a valuable collection of coins was discovered in the fields of nearby Sieniawa a few years ago.
For canoeing fans, we recommend the brilliant and long (220 km) Lubuski Water Trail: Sława - Santok.

What’s there for children?
Those who jump and sing, dance, shout and hop have a lot to show off with us. In the rain, they can jump in puddles, play board games, and when the sun is shining, they will be delighted to swing in the hammock. The area around the house is perfect for hide and seek and there is a playground in the garden for the little ones.
Little knights, knights, princes and princesses will feel like fish in the Łagów lake. The proximity of castles, fortifications and old buildings will stimulate their imagination and allow them to play the role of medieval heroes looking for treasures of the Knights Hospitaller.
