A sign still hangs in front of the entrance to the cottage: Bolesław Karpiel-Bułecki's artistic workshop. Our grandfather had his own carpentry workshop in the garden. He was a Renaissance man: he carved in wood and designed beautiful Zakopane houses and sang, danced, and played instruments. He created scenery for performances by regional bands, collected Podhale melodies and preserved them for posterity. He was an orchestra man, and not just any orchestra - the Zakopane one. He was part of a family of artists who fell in love with their small homeland. At his big workshop table, he created furniture which brought the charm of Podhale into many a home. My grandfather's workshop had been deteriorating for years. A few months ago, we joined forces and gave it a second life. My cousin, an architect, designed a project, my uncle created the furniture. We salvaged what we could from the old building and added a part of the living room and a bedroom with high windows. Apart from that, the changes were few: We wanted the building to retain its original character. Its old wood still forms the outside of the walls. Grandfather's workshop table stands in the dining room and serves as a meeting place for family and friends. We could not imagine a better retirement for the table. We invite you to Warsztat Dziadka (Grandpa's Workshop) to get to know the mountains and our folklore from the inside out. We will tell you about our Zakopane and what we love about it.

Here Slowhop will describe your place

Host:
Hanka i Kuba
We are both from Zakopane. Hanka and Kuba - graphic designer and geologist. :) We come from a highlander family full of folk artists who cultivate the traditions of the Podhale region. We brought Warsztat Dziadka (Grandpa's Workshop) and a tiny family guesthouse back to life to share Zakopane with those who want to get to know it from the real side. We want to invite you to the workshop and Dom Pod Lipkami - a place with soul and history, which we will be happy to tell you!

In a wooden, two-story house. It stands in the garden behind our own home. It is located in a quiet part of the city center, about 750 meters from Krupówki. We are a two-minute walk to Willa Atma or Czerwony Dwór. You will reach the Tatra Museum or the City Art Gallery in a dozen or so. To go to the mountains you do not have to go anywhere by car, it is enough to go through our garden, behind which there is a hill, and behind the hill, a straight road to the outlet of the Strążyska Valley and the paths under Reglami. There are two bedrooms in the house with double beds. One of them has an unquestionable advantage - high windows overlooking the garden. The views from the second bedroom will not disappoint either - you will see Kasprowy Wierch from it. Both are cozy, decorated with wood and pleasant, light colors. There is a reading corner next to it. On the ground floor there is a bathroom with a shower and an open space with a living room with a large convertible sofa, fireplace, kitchen and - here drums - grandfather's table. There is a terrace and a garden outside - a unique phenomenon among houses located in the center of Zakopane.

The kitchen in the cottage is equipped with basic appliances, such as a fridge, electric cooker, kettle, dishwasher, coffee machine and microwave. You will also find there dishes, pots, pans and other necessary utensils. You can eat at the big table, which is the king of this house - for many years it was our grandfather's workplace. Now, properly secured, it serves as a meeting point for families and friends. You don't always want to cook on vacation, so we have a complete list of places where we like to eat ourselves. All of them are delicious and they are probably not typical tourist places - locals like us go there. From this long list, you can choose places for a big and small hunger, a fancy burger and a homemade cherry tomato. Here they are: Bistro Bubuja, Zakopane, Piłsudskiego 4 Cristina Ristorante & amp; Pizzeria, Zakopane, Independence Square 7 Widok Restaurant at Hotel Harnaś, Bukowina Tatrzańska, Wierch Buńdowy 11 Restaurant Giewont, Nędzy Kubińca 4, Kościelisko Regional Restaurant Bąkowo Zohylina Wyźnio, Zakopane, Piłsudskiego 28A STRH Bistro Art Cafe, Zakopane, Krupówki 4A GuGu Park Bar, Zakopane, Piłsudskiego Food Truck Zgórburger, Poronin, Kodnie Hamry 1E La Mano Café, Zakopane, Orkana 1F Widokowa Café 3rd Floor, Hotel Logos, Zakopane, Grunwaldzka 10 Samanta's confectionery, Zakopane, Kasprusie 34

There was probably everyone in Zakopane, and the one for whom it will be the first time was a great hit: we are not guides, but we like to share our local patriotism. Kuba will be happy to tell you about the Tatras, climbing and skiing (he will also recommend the best instructors and guides), and Hanka will tell you where to meet the highlander culture and tradition. We have several places in our city that we like very much (for example the Witkacy Theater and the Place Cinema) - we will show you some more interesting addresses. We also know the routes well, so we will help you choose the right route that suits your wishes and possibilities. We will advise you where to go to the sunrise or sunset, we will share our secret places, we will organize a guided trip to the Monk. If you do not want to, you will definitely not be bored here. In case of rainy weather, games, books and Netflix available at the house will help you.

What’s there for children?

Go to photo editor Photo edit

Mountain trips are recommended at all ages, because it is never too early to instill in children a love for the mountains. There are also a lot of ski slopes and donkey meadows around (the closest to Lipka - right behind our fence), where children can learn to ski, as well as sledge and sledge and apples. In addition, children have a large, safe garden at their disposal, where they can play until they drop, as well as swings. At your disposal is a high chair and a cot.

Polecam !

Właściciele bardzo sympatyczni i bezproblemowi . Domek zadbany , czysty , okolica i widoki z okien piękne ! Teren spokojny , wszędzie blisko , pod nosem sklepy spożywcze i cukiernia/ piekarnia / kawiarnia w jednym . Nic tylko odpoczywać , polecamy bardzo serdecznie ! :)

Lokalizacja idealna, cisza i spokój wszechobecne. Właściciele bardzo mili i pomocni , czuliśmy się naprawdę komfortowo. Wracamy na pewno i to wczesniej niż na kolejne zimowe ferie.😊
