The wolf is full and the sheep are whole, and people find peace here. In the picturesque part of the Drawsko Landscape Park, near the crystal-clear Siecino Lake, there is a climate rest reserve - Wilcza Ostoja. The house in the middle of a pine forest is called Szara Wilczyca (Gray Wolf) for a reason because its colour resembles that of a thoroughbred Wader. However, one should not be afraid of her, she is wild, beautiful, caring, and at the same time attached to her pack, just like people to families. This is what Ostoja is like, but it's best to find out for yourself.
In a Scandinavian cabin, which could land on the cover of an interior design magazine, 4 people will find rest. There is a mezzanine, a living room with a door to a sunny terrace, a stone's throw to the lake with ready-to-drink water, a few steps to a canoeing trip and even closer to the cross-country trails.
We hear that Wilcza Ostoja is a place where, even when you work, you rest. Spring is ubiquitous, in the blue of the water, in the greening grass, and the constant humming of birds hidden in the treetops do not let you forget for a moment. In the winter, when the Gray Wolf hides under a white quilt, the guests enjoy the charms of the Drawsko Lake District, bound with ice. Time for sledges, cross-country skiing, sleigh rides and skates. Summer is the time for sailing, swimming underwater, riding a bicycle, sitting on a deck chair, with wine and watching shooting stars. Listen, because wolves are returning to the lake district, and single packs have been seen in the area. They will probably howl in the distance sometimes. And good. After all, the name obliges!
In the middle of the forest, by the lake, and in the Lake District, there lives a wolf, a fox and a deer, i.e. the greatest friends of those who seek tranquility. Szara Wilczyca in its 70 m2 threshold will accommodate up to 4 people (including children).
Our love for wolves and Scandinavia is visible at first sight. Bright colors, wood on the walls and simply design are influenced by northern countries, and accessories with a wolf theme you will meet at every step. When creating the project, we decided to keep the entire height of the house, so that the interior was very sunny and spacious. A mezzanine with a double bed and a huge round window, which was built right under the roof, is to serve you for a very atmospheric rest.
Nothing is missing at home. There is everything you need for comfortable relaxation and a holiday of the highest quality. The wolf consists of a spacious living room with a dining area and a sofa corner, a bedroom with a double bed, a hall and a bathroom with a window.
You will spend your mornings, evenings and afternoons on a 60m2 wooden terrace surrounded by green pine trees and singing birds. What's going on there? You can hang out, sunbathe, play cards, drink wine, discuss and take a nap - whatever your heart desires. A large, covered porch awaits those who would like to hide from the sun or rain.
The whole house is filled with naturalness and a cozy aura. Being inside, you can feel unity with the surrounding nature, and the holiday atmosphere in the air will be enjoyed by everyone.
We make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible, so in the houses you will find: a coffee machine for Tchibo capsules, towels, grill, hammock, sunbeds, DVD player with films to choose from, a mini library and a dishwasher. The lack of wi-fi is a disadvantage for some, which is always an advantage for our guests.
At your disposal is a fully functional kitchenette for pleasant cooking with a view of the trees. What's better, you don't have to wash it afterwards, because the dishwasher will do it for you. There is also a coffee machine, a dining area and a terrace to contemplate caffeinated relaxation.
Famous Drahim honeys are also our local good. In addition to the well-known flavors, such as multiflorous, linden, rapeseed or buckwheat, among them is the king of all honey: heather, which bees obtain from the largest Kłomińskie Heaths in Europe.
If cooking is not on your vacation dream list, we recommend some delicious places in the near and distant surroundings.
There is a place where guests start to clap at the sight of dumplings with meat, the duck causes tears of emotion, and guests from across the Oder take home buckwheat as a souvenir from their trip. The Karpno farm is also a farm, so poultry, pork and rabbits are simply organic.
I LIKE FISH in Lubieszewo is an exceptionally perfect, even idyllic place. Throughout the year, you can eat here fried or stewed trout with garlic butter or fried vendace from Lake Lubie. The smell of smoked eels, trout and whitefish tempts tourists passing the road through the village.
Tavern u Jermak in Drawsko is an interesting mix of fish flavors and eastern influences. The chef from Nepal charms with the flavors of oriental cuisine and more.
You can be bored, you can sleep until noon, you can row and pedal, swim, walk and visit. Such are the luxuries we have in this Lake District.
Drawskie Lakeland is a pearl in the crown of Polish geographical regions. The combination of the captivating values of nature with the historical cultural heritage is an ideal base for all kinds of rest. There will be attractions for both nature lovers and amateurs of active leisure. The magic of the Drawskie Lakeland lies in the glacial lakes scattered all over the area. We especially love Lake Siecino, on which the Wolf's Ostoja is located. It is crystal clear and transparent, and you can drink the water without boiling it.
The local network of interconnected rivers is a real paradise for canoeists. One of them (Drawa) with its beauty and wild nature enchanted Pope John Paul II himself, whose name has been named after the rafting in 2005. Rowing Drawa means tiredness, but also satisfaction, contemplation of nature and, above all, a wonderful time.
When going to Wilczyca, you should pack your bikes. Beautiful views, long routes, undisturbed peace of meadows and finding lakes hidden among the forests are ideal conditions for explorers by bike. Our area is covered by a dense network of bicycle routes that lead you through the most picturesque areas.
Of course, active recreation is not only about bicycles.
As avid sailors, we can praise the Drawskie Lakeland to the skies, because it is a paradise for sea wolves, anglers and scuba divers. There is a silence zone in the lakes located in the Drawski Landscape Park, so you can also try meditation. This land of forests and lakes also has a lot to offer mushroom pickers and horse riding enthusiasts. Nobody will complain about boredom here.
We highly recommend in the area:
- Jelenino, which is the largest deer farm in Poland, located in Jeleniewo just outside Ostrowice,
hiking along forest trails,
- bicycle, canoe and hiking routes,
- picking mushrooms, raspberries and blueberries,
- the possibility of purchasing regional products (honey, preserves, tinctures),
- extremely picturesque photo openings,
- "Poland Trophy" competition taking place in the Drawsko training ground,
- horse riding outdoors,
- in winter: sleds, cross-country skis, sleigh rides.
What’s there for children?
Peace and quiet, the smell of the forest, mushrooms, birds singing and insects chirping. Children respect this silence and dance with the wolves, howl to the moon, drink water from the lake (you can really drink it!), Play Indians and cowboys and run without shoes. Voices say that you can rest even if you have two preschoolers "at the cottage". They discover what a holiday is without animation, a swimming pool and a playroom. They have a piece of forest to know, pine cones, hares, beetles and rowing with their parents. The parents turn off their heads and rest in full swing. During the rain, children learn about wolf stories hidden in interesting books and watch the world from the ceiling on the entresol.
