Have you ever wondered what is the difference between a large camper, a so-called motorhome, and a campervan like our Kalaitka? We can illustrate the differences this way: a motorhome is similar to a hotel and a campervan is a rather cosy cottage in the mountains with a lit fireplace and aromatic coffee waiting on a small table. Since you're reading this, you already know what you prefer :)
Kalaitka is agile and has off-road flair. You can easily climb a gravel, mountain road, which will result in a wild overnight stay among the mountain peaks. It will not be a problem for her to break through the sandy ground to the lake shore. If necessary, she can also handle muddy terrain. Traveling in a campervan gives you more options and is for people who love freedom.
And that's who we are - Kaśka and Blu (Łukasz). We came up with the idea of buying a campervan some time ago while sitting by the Liwiec river. We wanted to change something in our travels so far, add something new that we had not done before. We figured why not a camper? After all, the best way to get in touch with nature is camping. Our car gives us a sense of freedom. Kalaitka turned out to be a great companion. And so she appeared with us. Spontaneous decisions turn out to be the most appropriate. And now we can lend her to you.
Here you can let your imagination run wild. In unknown corners of Europe, on a wild beach, by a stream, in the wilderness or among mountain peaks. Everywhere you can get with our car.
Now it's time to present our car, the Volkswagen California T6 Coast, which we affectionately call Kalaitka. Kalait is turquoise, which is our favorite color, because it is associated with the color of the oceans, travels and adventure.
A few words about Kalaitka's equipment:
- two comfortable sleeping places 120x200 and 150x200,
-gas stove,
-sink,
- quite roomy fridge,
- 230 V sockets,
-shower,
- auxiliary heating
-water installation, which has two water tanks, clean and gray (both 30 L),
-various practical equipment - blankets, chairs, table, hatchet.
- luggage rack for 4 bikes
Remember to bring your bedding. We assume that everyone likes to sleep under their duvet.
Our Kalaitka is brand new and more luxurious. It has a lot of extras and amenities to make your journey easier and do a good job. Thanks to them, making a few hundred kilometers will not exhaust you, and larger freaks may even be pleased. We have here active cruise control, navigation, three-zone air conditioning, a radio with a very good audio system and other equipment. In addition, four-wheel drive and rear axle lock can be useful when traveling to the wilder corners of Europe. And thanks to the small dimensions, you will reach and park in hardly accessible places.
Our stove, although small, has enough space for all the necessary things for cooking. In addition to the refrigerator, gas stove and sink, you will find all kinds of cutlery, glasses, plates, bowls, cutting boards, corkscrew, coffee maker, and cloths. All you have to do is get up, brew a delicious coffee and start preparing breakfast. And all this in the wild, surrounded by nature and with a beautiful view. It will definitely be delicious!
And for adults, a little surprise - a bottle of wine will be waiting for you in the fridge.
Europe has 46 countries. You also have a lot of possibilities. Poland itself hides many wild and beautiful places worth visiting. There are hardly any stupid ideas here. You can go to the city, to the mountains, to the water, to the forest, to the countryside or elsewhere. The point is that you like it and that there is something to remember.
You can spend your free time in many different ways. In our opinion, the best of them is a good book accompanied by singing birds and the rustling stream. Or board games. Or a glass of wine overlooking a million stars.
Would you like to go somewhere proven? Write to us. We've already ridden a bit and we know what how. We will gladly recommend you some cool spots that will suit your interests and plans.
What’s there for children?
Kalaitka can easily accommodate a family of four. Kids can safely travel in car seats. It is worth taking the little ones and showing them the world from a slightly different - wild side. Sleeping in the wild is a great adventure: you can catch fireflies in a jar, recognize the constellations of stars in the sky, guess what bird is singing in the area or watch deer graze in the meadow.
