Pawliki, located at an altitude of 975 m above sea level above the Białka valley, fulfilled all the points on our dream list more than thirty years ago, when we renovated our first house here. The Tatras are at our fingertips, allowing us to relax and pursue our mountain passions, yet with zero tourists per square metre. With time, we have discovered even more of the surrounding benefits: a homely, cosy atmosphere of a Spisz village, neighbours producing oscypek (sheep cheese), the proximity of the Slovak Tatra Mountains (8 km to the border in Jurgów) and high-calorific bryndza haluszka, a pleasant distance from ski resorts and tourist revelations. Fortunately, throughout all the years, the local idyllic landscape has remained almost unchanged. This house is our new chapter, which I don't think we are ready for yet. Originally we were going to live in it, but attachment to the old cottage we have lived in for years, a few hundred metres away, won out. A brand new villa for 8 people, which smells of wood, we leave in your care. Let it serve as a relaxing place for you. Building a new house was a natural result of combining our passions: mountains, Podhale architecture and gardens. We built it with attention to detail, filled it with paintings by Basia and souvenirs from my Himalayan expeditions. A long-time friend of ours, a specialist in the construction of wooden houses and a highlander by blood, living in the neighbourhood, is responsible for all key construction works. In parallel with the construction, we have been creating the garden ourselves from scratch. It consists of two parts: a Japanese one, accessed through the original Torii gate, and a fusion part, where you can find probably the highest pond in Poland with blooming water lilies. No one expects such a view in the Tatra Mountains alone. Botanical enthusiasts will also be satisfied with around two hundred varieties of plants that are rare in Poland. Mountain hiking, swimming in a stream or in the thermal baths, cycling escapades, walks in search of views - everything is at hand here. We invite you to enjoy the tranquillity of Ikigai, pink spectacles at sunset, morning coffee on the terrace and long conversations by the fireplace.

Here Slowhop will describe your place

Host:
Rysiek i Basia
Rysiek - a participant of many expeditions into the highest mountains, a cave explorer, conqueror of the deepest cave in the world in 1980. Basia - a painter, drawing inspiration from mountain spaces and distant travels; a fan of diving. We have been connected with mountains all our lives, currently, we actively escape from old age - figuratively and literally. We combine travelling with marathon races and diving. In winter we like to ski. In between trips, we devote ourselves to gardening. For over 30 years, we have spent most of our free time in Pawliki, and for the last few years, we have been living here permanently. After building a new house, we cannot part with the old cottage, which is only a few hundred metres away... So, for the time being, we have decided to make the benefits of the new house available to our guests.

We share with you everything we have, i.e. a whole, completely new, wooden house with an area of 190 m2. The layout of the rooms ensures a comfortable stay for 6 to a maximum of 8 people. Each resident will have a private view of the Tatra Mountains: Bielskie, High and Western. The peaks are visible from the windows, terrace and garden. From the nearby peaks and glades, you can admire the Pieniny Mountains and sunsets over Babia Góra. Take a lot of sensitivity with you, paint to paint the views or notebooks to describe these unique panoramas. The interiors hide elements of our personalities: all the paintings were painted by Basia, and the wall decor is complemented by my photos from expeditions to the Himalayas. The warm atmosphere is created by a collection of hand-woven oriental carpets and fabrics (some of them are antique, most of them over a hundred years old) and other peculiarities brought from all over the world. On the first level there is a spacious living room with access to the terrace, connected with a well-equipped kitchen and dining room. A little above is the first bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed. On the next level we have a spacious bedroom with a large double bed and a smaller bed for a child. The third bedroom, which is located at the highest level, rewards the climb with the best view from the windows. It is equipped with a double bed. Each bedroom has a separate, comfortably equipped bathroom. There is a possibility of providing additional sleeping places for children. The entire house is strictly non-smoking!

We give you a free hand, so you cook whatever you want. The house has a spacious and fully equipped kitchen: induction hob, oven, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, a set of dishes and pots. You can eat your breakfasts at the large dining table, although it is known that they taste best on the terrace. If you prefer to leave cooking to specialists, we will recommend the kitchen of our friend, who runs 1.5 km from our house, an agritourism farm. On site you can order full board (breakfasts and dinners). Apart from popular restaurants in Białka and Bukowina (Litworowy Staw, Schronisko Smaków), Slovak pubs are also worth visiting. In the nearby Zdiar you will find several good restaurants: - Restauracia U Gazdu, i.e. fatty, sour, homemade. Delicious trout with french fries and gnocchi with cabbage, Pastiersky Syr and real garlic soup, dumplings with sheep cheese and warm strudel with vanilla sauce. One thing is certain, we do not count calories in Slovakia. - Pizzeria Rustika, a place with unusual decor, delicious pizza and great service. Payment here only in cash. - Zdiarsky Dom - beautiful decor and a great view of the Belianske Tatras, you probably haven't eaten such good noodles yet, and you will remember the garlic and cheese soup for a long time. The restaurant is right next to the regional museum of the same name. Be sure to check it out before or after a meal. In Pawlikki next door, you can buy delicious oscypek cheese from the hosts. We will show you the address on the spot.

The house is surrounded by idyllic meadows and forests, crisscrossed by rapid streams and a network of walking and running routes. You will need legs won in the lottery, strong lungs and fitness to be able to admire the breathtaking views of the Tatras and Pieniny. Short walks to the nearby peaks of Pawlikowski and Piłatówka will provide you with a feast for the eye. Among the easier, walking suggestions, the closest are the valleys of Jaworów and Biała Woda, 20 minutes away by car. More advanced amateurs of mountain hikes will appreciate the proximity of the Slovak Tatras - most routes can be reached by car within a dozen or so - several dozen minutes. Near the Jaworowa Valley, it is worth visiting the Hohenlohe hunting castle - the summer residence of the President of Slovakia. A journey of less than an hour by car will take you to Spišská Sobota - a historic district of Poprad, whose history dates back to the 13th century. Right next to Spišská Sobota, you can also jump into the AquaCity Poprad hot pools. Directly behind the fence of the plot there is a little frequented tourist and bicycle trail (blue), full of fantastic views. In August, you can admire the competitors of the Ultra Janosik race here. This route is the starting point for a great cycling route for intermediate cyclists, leading through the Slovak Osturna to Zdiar. It is therefore worth taking bikes with you, even those with electric drive. Among the winter attractions, there are many ski resorts in the area. The closest is Jurgów (a good slope also for advanced skiers) and Białka Tatrzańska (more suggestions for beginners). On the Slovak side there is a large selection of slopes, we recommend, among others routes in Bachledowa Dolina and on Łomnica. Many of the summer cross-country trails can be traversed in winter on cross-country skis. Water sports enthusiasts will enjoy the canoeing trips organized on the Białka River, the route of which leads past the fascinating rock formations in the Białka Gorge. The brave ones can take a refreshing bath in the mountain stream, and those around us are in abundance.

What’s there for children?

Although we do not have ladders and slides, only a swing, intended rather for relaxation, just behind the fence there is a space for frolics, cycling, running, sleighing in winter, and watching stars all year round. For the most beautiful view of the Tatra Mountains, take your kids 2 kilometers to the village of Grocholowie. There, on the road towards Łapszanka and Slovak Osturnia (ul. Kościelna), you will get one of the best panoramas of the Tatra Mountains for free. It is worth going with the youngest to the Thermal Baths in Białka Tatrzańska and Bukowina Tatrzańska. In summer and on weekends, of course, there are few words, but in the off-season you can relax during the week. In Slovakia, we recommend an educational trail in the treetops in the Bachledowa Valley and a trip to the Belianska Cave from the Tatranska Kotlina. Among the more distant (1.5 hour drive), but very attractive places for children, the Aquapark Tatralandia and the Slovak Paradise should be mentioned.

Here Slowhop will describe what’s there for children. If you want, you can also fill it in or edit the text.

Our address: Pawliki 6b, 34-532, Rzepiska, Tatra Mountains, Poland

Translated by Google Translate.

In google maps the slogan "Pawliki, Rzepiska" leads to our house. From Nowy Targ we go towards Jurgów, in Czarna Góra we turn towards Rzepisk and at the next intersection we turn left to the village of Rzepiska-Potok Bryjów. We pass the main part of the village and drive another 1.5 km up the hill. Willa Pawliki emerges on the left side of the longer straight.

Lokalizacja i uroki natury to rzecz oczywista.

Z okien i tarasu mogliśmy podziwiać spektakularne panoramy gór. Wschody i zachody słońca były absolutnie magiczne. Gorąco polecam ten dom każdemu, kto pragnie spędzić niezapomniane chwile w pięknej i cichej okolicy.
