First there was a door. The front door to my family house, made before war by some Mazur. Shabby, with flaky azure paint and three small lenses. I loved them. When my parents exchanged them for new ones several years ago, I promised myself that one day I would build a house for them. The door was waiting, and there was a house. Or rather a cottage, modeled on old Masurian arcaded houses. Made of fired logs joined in a dovetail, with a hundred-year-old Masurian tile and, of course, a turquoise door. It was designed by a friend of the architect and named the project Brutka, which is the Masurian `` bride '', probably from the German Braut. So we decorated it with dignity, as befits a bride. We dressed in natural materials, paintings by Polish artists, books and a lot of heart. We invite you behind the azure door. Here, in front of the village beach on Lake Inulec, is our Chrosiówka, which is almost a hectare of yard and two houses. We live in the first one and we run a cozy agritourism in the attic, while in the second one you rule. An almost 100-meter wooden house is waiting for you. Real food and cordiality await you. In winter, warmth and books, in summer, the beach and sparks above the fire. Come on over. We are not going anywhere yet.

Host:
Asia
We - Asia called Chrosia, a lover of mathematics, books and mountain hiking, and Wojtek - a guy who prefers to do something rather than talk. You will meet us in Zełwęgi on Lake Inulec, where we built our Chrosiówka. We are from here, we feel very connected to our part of Masuria. We derive joy from a simple life and good relationships with people. Our story is very normal, there is no drama like in a good novel or magic like in a fairy tale. We bake sourdough rye bread, make cheese and brew beer. We like to go out into the forest on bikes for coffee, stare at the fire or lie in a hammock with a good book. We'll be happy to share it all with you. Come.

We offer you an almost 100-meter wooden hut for rest, which we have designed for 4-8 people. Two couples or a family with children can relax here most comfortably. Two families or a group of friends will also be able to handle it easily. Our house is located in the village, deep in the yard, opposite the village beach, available to everyone. You will share the yard with the guests of our agritourism farm located next door. It won't be a crazy crowd, because our farm can accommodate up to 7 people. Of course, there are also us, our daughters and our dog Tofik. The house and the area around the house are of course exclusive to you. On the ground floor we have a living room with a fireplace, a large table and a kitchen. There is also a small toilet. The entire wall in the living room is occupied by a library. And not just any kind. There are no random books here to fill space on the shelves. There's a lot of new stuff here, a lot of classics, fantasy, crime stories and four shelves of children's books. On the first floor we have 2 spacious bedrooms with bathrooms. The bedrooms have air conditioning, each with a large double bed and two fold-out beds that can be joined into one. The windows of the rooms offer a picturesque view of the hills, the forest and the village. The windows have blackout curtains and blinds. The house is open all year round, downstairs there is underfloor heating (electric) and a fireplace, upstairs there is air conditioning with a heating function, and in the bathrooms there are electric radiators and underfloor heating. The walls are decorated with so many paintings that you might think it is a gallery and not a house for rent. Almost all of them were painted by Polish artists. Some more, some less known. Some we auctioned at charity auctions, others we bought at exhibitions, in galleries or received as a gift. Some of the furniture, lamps and accessories have an interesting history or come from local craftsmen. Some came from far away, e.g. the table in the dining room came to us from Sweden. Karolina and Marek from a friendly bistro-cafe called Przechowalnia Marzeń found it in some Loopis. And the towel cabinet is an old cabinet from my parents' house. In addition, almost 50 m2 of covered terraces. And on the terrace there are hammocks, sofas, an armchair, tables and chairs where you can drink coffee or read a book. There was also one secret room on the ground floor, which we reserved for ourselves. This is our workshop - the kitchen where our cheeses are made. But don't worry, we have our own independent entrance on the side and we only go there from time to time. And if you are curious about what is going on there, you can visit and see how Chrosiówka specialties are made. Our house is in the village, so we have neighbors. We have an almost 1-hectare yard surrounded by trees and bushes and it is usually very quiet, but we cannot guarantee complete peace and quiet. One of the neighbors also welcomes guests, sometimes someone mows the grass, and sometimes someone chops wood... Just like in the countryside. In summer, Zełwęgi is a bit more noisy and cheerful, but from September to June we have a real idyll here :)

What will I eat?

We have arranged the kitchen so that everyone can prepare something delicious. Don't hesitate to use it. You will find everything you need here: - dishes, cutlery, pots, cups, glasses, cake molds, etc. - induction hob, oven, toaster - fridge, dishwasher and electric kettle. And for coffee lovers, a whole set of accessories: a coffee maker, a French press, a filter coffee machine, a Hario grinder, and a milk frother. And, of course, the best coffee beans from the Kofikada roastery in Olsztyn. Nearby, you can order home-cooked meals at Małgosia's during the off-season. Małgosia will not only prepare dinner, she also bakes amazing challah (she will make challah even in season:)) and makes delicious cakes. And her soup is poetry. Let us know in advance and we will give you the contact details so you can make an appointment :) Looking for simple, good food, we started cooking ourselves - we make rennet cheese, bake sourdough rye bread, make real live apple cider vinegar and brew beer. It turned out that the devil is not that scary and that the secret is good ingredients and a little heart. For cheese, we only use milk from Zelwa cows, appropriate bacterial cultures, rennet and salt. In turn, the breads are made of eco-rye flour from a 600-year-old Reszel mill, grains, water and salt. Come for a poem of taste - a slice of bread with butter! During the season, you can eat well in the nearby Rabbit Hole and Muranka Fish Fry (to which it is worth taking a kayak to the other side of the lake). Delicious waffles and ice cream are available at the Well of Flavors - only 100 meters from us! You can eat delicious food all year round in the atmospheric Oberża pod psem, Słowiczówka or in numerous pubs in Mikołajki. We can also point out more tasty addresses in the area. And the best coffee and breakfasts are served at our favorite bistro Przechowalnia Marzeń in Mikołajki (open from May to September).

In summer, we recommend the village beach right in front of the house or the beach on Lake Majcz Wielki in the middle of the forest. We have deckchairs and hammocks on site, right next to Lake Inulec for fishing and kayaking, and nearby there are forest paths perfect for walking and cycling. On the beach there is a beach volleyball court, an open-air gym and a wonderful old willow tree called Zenek, where until recently our daughters spent half of their free time. We also have a playground for older children, so no one should be bored. Cyclists will have a paradise here. The number of bicycle paths (especially in the field and offroad) is impressive. There is also a 300 km route around the Great Lakes, the Masurian Bicycle Loop. Note - paths dedicated to road bikes are scarce - we recommend trekking bikes, but even a city bike will do the trick :). We travel a lot ourselves, we will be happy to provide you with routes on maps.cz or otherwise, if you prefer. We have several bicycles on site, if you want to take your own, we can store them. There are also kayaks for paddling. And board games, cards, balls. Reserve some time for reading books from our library (it's worth it!) and such ordinary pleasures as enjoying aromatic coffee, staring at the stars, long evenings by the fire and quiet afternoons in a hammock. Only then can you feel that you have more time for everything. For those of you who are in Masuria for the first time, we also recommend such evergreens as Mikołajki, Leśniczówka Pranie, Gierłoż, rafting on the Krutynia River or the wilder Sapina River or the Boyen Fortress. Although we prefer to go there after the season.

What’s there for children?

Go to photo editor Photo edit

Translated by Google Translate.
It's never the same on vacation as at home. You can run barefoot on the grass, eat breakfast on the terrace, and convince your parents to go to the lake at dawn. For us, dirty children mean happy holidays. Give up changing wet clothes, make yourself a good cup of coffee and let your children have more freedom. If the weather was absolutely crap, we would have a few boxes of Lego Duplo blocks in the cottage, a stove with lots of accessories, teddy bears with all the furniture and a wardrobe full of dress-up clothes. Plus games and several hundred books and booklets for children. There is also a DVD and a box of CDs with fairy tales. We have a nice playground in the yard, which your children will share with the children from Chrosiówka agritourism (if we also have children staying with us). The playground is a great joy for school-age children (although many preschoolers bravely cope). Wojtek made all the toys himself, and our daughters were the designers. The village beach is right next door. Our children say that the water is the perfect temperature from May to the end of September. On the beach, as always on the beach, there is also a pile of sand, a Zenek willow for climbing, a village playground, half a hectare of meadow and an open-air gym.

Come and visit us for workation! We don't have optical fiber, but there is really good coverage from most operators (LTE). You can use your own or our WiFi (in the orange network). It is enough to send and receive e-mails, browse websites and send standard attachments. You can also easily make a video call on the camera, not always in full HD quality, but without interrupting the sound and image. There is an eight-person table in the dining room, and in the living room, you can warm your feet by the fireplace while working on the sofa. The best working conditions are in our two bedrooms in the attic of the cottage. Each room has a comfortable desk with a chair, and there is also air conditioning in case it gets too hot or too cold. In summer, we recommend working on the terrace, there is a table with two chairs or comfortable sofas and hammocks.

How do I get there?

Icon Car

Our address: Zełwągi 43 CA, Zełwągi, Masuria Region, Poland

Translated by Google Translate.

The easiest way to get to Zełwęgi is by DK16. In Zełwęgi, leave the main road towards Bobrówko and then turn into the first road on the right. After about 500m, you will see our Chrosiówka (and a large inscription with the name) on the left. Attention! The house numbers are not sequential, so don't worry that after 43b there is 43e. We are a bit further :) We have one place for charging an electric car, which is located in the parking lot. We provide single-phase 230V voltage powered by alternating current (AC) and three-phase 400V voltage powered by alternating current (AC). For the full comfort of our guests, we provide a type 2 charging plug. The price for charging is fixed and amounts to PLN 1 per kWh.

Bus: Zełwągi (0,7 km)

About 700m on foot - there is a sidewalk, so a suitcase on wheels will be fine. If you let us know in advance, we can pick you up at the bus stop by car :) There are many bus lines directly to Zełwęgi (I recommend checking the local Agawa line, which runs every day on the Warsaw-Mikołajki line). You can also take a train to Olsztyn and there change to a bus to Zełwęgi. Alternatively, we can pick you up from a further stop (Mragowo, Mikołajki).

Train: Ruciane-Nida (28 km)

Let us know in advance and we will pick you up from the station. If this was not possible, a taxi would cost approximately PLN 100.

If you want to organize a party (be it a birthday or a hen party), we encourage you to choose another place. Our place is in the village, we have neighbors and everyone around us makes sure that it is rural, idyllic and... peaceful. When it comes to the stay of a dog - we accept older dogs that do not bite objects and furniture. Please do not let your dog sleep in beds or be left alone when you go somewhere, e.g. to eat. Please also bring a bed for your pet :) We also have our own dog - Tofik, a mutt who lives with us but sometimes runs loose. In addition to the cottage, we rent 3 rooms in the house where we live. A few dozen meters away from the cottage (you will find it under the name Agroturystyka Chrosiówka). The parking lot and the area around the cottage are exclusive to you, but you will share the playground and bonfire with the guests of our small agro. We are an agritourism company, so we issue an invoice (invoice without VAT) upon request. We can issue an invoice for both an individual and a company, but each time we will include accommodation services for recreational purposes.
